Get ready to enter the Thrivetime Show! We started from the bottom, now we’re here. We started from the bottom and we’ll show you how to get here. We started from the bottom, now we’re here. We started from the bottom, now we’re here. We started from the bottom, now we’re on the top. Teaching you the systems to get what we got. Cullen Dixon’s on the hooks, I’ve written the books. He’s bringing some wisdom and the good looks. As the father of five, that’s what I’m a dive. So if you see my wife and kids, please tell them hi. It’s C and Z up on your radio. And now 3, 2, 1, here we go. We started from the bottom, now we’re here. We started from the bottom, and that’s what you gotta do. All right, Thrive Nation, welcome back into the conversation. It’s the Thrive Time Show on your radio. And this is, for many of you, this is kind of like your daily encouragement. For many of you, this has become your self-help destination. For me, it has become the highlight of my business career. I just enjoy taking two hours a day to connect with you and to answer the questions that you’ve been sending us via email at info at thrive15.com. Today’s entire show is focused on answering a question from a Thriver we have in Michigan. So we have a Thriver who apparently went to Thrivetimeshow.com and began downloading our podcasts. So he listens faithfully every day. And if you go to Thrivetimeshow.com, you can click the Listen Live link. He says that’s what he does. He also watches on Facebook Live from time to time. But apparently the main thrust of how he hears the show is he goes to Thrivetimeshow.com and he clicks the little listen live button and he downloads the podcasts whenever he misses a show. And so his question, I’m paraphrasing, but is what is the right mindset that I need to have? What is the right mindset that I need to have to become a successful entrepreneur? And I think that is an awesome question to ask. We talk about mindsets. So the team and I, we did some research, we put together, we interviewed some of the top entrepreneurs all around the city, members of our thrive15.com mentorship team, and we put together the 11 mindsets that will absolutely destroy your chances of success. They will make it impossible for you to have success. And we also documented the single mindset that you need to have if you’re going to become a successful entrepreneur. And that mindset is you must have a growth mindset, you must have a mindset that is growth focused and that is coachable. And so you might say, well, what exactly does it mean to be coachable? Well the CEO of Google, Eric Schmidt, was being interviewed in a Fortune magazine interview there, and they asked him, you know, what’s the number one advice that you could give to any entrepreneur out there, anybody who’s struggling to grow the business or who wants to take their financial game to the next level? And he said this, I’m going to read you the notable quotable from Eric Schmidt, the CEO and a chairman of Google that was featured in Fortune magazine. If you Google this stuff, you can find it in Fortune magazine. He says, the advice that sticks out, I got from John Doerr, who in 2001 said, my advice to you is to have a coach. The coach, he said, I should have is Bill Campbell. I initially resented the advice because after all, I was a CEO. I was pretty experienced, why should I need a coach? Am I doing something wrong? My argument was, how could a coach advise me if I’m the best person in the world at this? He’s a CEO of Google, but that’s not what a coach does. The coach doesn’t have to play the sport as well as you do. They have to watch you and get you to be your best. In the business context, a coach is not a repetitious coach. A coach is somebody who looks at something with another set of eyes, describes it to you in his or her words, and discusses how to approach the problem. So I think that this is the thrust of the entrepreneurial mindset you have to have is, one, you have to be coachable, and you have to be growth-focused. And so you said, okay, well, thanks a lot, but I want to break that down into a specific action that I need to take. So I’d encourage you to write down these three action steps that you’d want to take if you want to become a successful entrepreneur, and you really want to take your mindset to the next level in order to accomplish that. Action item number one is you definitely need a mentor or a coach in your life. I know that might feel kind of self-serving for those of you who listen who know we have the world’s best business coaching program, but let’s take Thrive 15 out of it. Let’s just say that you’re not going to use our services, that’s fine. But you need to have a mentor or a coach or somebody that can just help you to really push you to be the best you can be. And as I think about my career and I think about the people that have pushed me, one name that comes to mind is Clifton Talbert. And for those of you who don’t know Clifton Talbert, he is sort of a Tulsa treasure. He helped introduce the Stare Master into the marketplace. He’s one of the first African-American bankers west of the Mississippi. His life was actually turned into a movie called Once Upon a Time When We Were Colored. I mean, you think about the profundity of his dynamic. You know, he wasn’t allowed to go into the front door of a bank because of the color of his skin when he grew up in Glenallen, Mississippi, because of legal segregation. And then he went on to actually start his own bank. I mean, can you kind of think about the profundity of that thought? I mean, imagine how that would feel to be a young man and to be told you cannot walk into a bank, but then to have the audacity to believe that you could actually at some point open your own bank. Well, it requires a certain mindset, a certain belief in yourself to take your career to a level where you go from, you can’t go into the front door of a bank because of the color of your skin to now you actually are one of the owners of the bank. And so years ago I cold called Mr. Talbert. My family knew the Talbert through church. I wasn’t very close with him. I didn’t know him very well. And I just wanted him to mentor me, to teach me what to do. And one of the things he focused on was that you’ve got to have this entrepreneurial mind set. And it’s got to be this growth focused mentality. So move number one is find a mentor. I mean, when Clifton was telling me what to do, I’m going, okay, I’m not going to argue with you. I mean, you helped introduce Stairmaster into the marketplace. You’re a guy who started at your own bank. You had your life made into a movie called Once Upon a Time when we were colored. By the way, Cisco and Ebert back in the day gave this thing two thumbs up. So I’m not going to argue with a guy who has had that kind of success. So find a mentor or a coaching program that has proven results that can help you get to where you want to go. Now step number two is you want to invest one to two hours per day planning out your day, organizing your life and self-examining where you are and where you want to be in the areas, in these six areas. I’m going to read them out here to you. That’s faith, that’s family, that’s friendship, that’s fitness, that’s fun, and that’s finances. And you say, okay, but what does that look like? Well, here’s what you do. I’m broadcasting today live from the man cave where we’re always learning and burning here. It’s to describe the man cave to you, it’s sort of like you’re walking into a speakeasy or a bar in Austin, Texas. I’m surrounded with American swag, a lot of New England Patriots decor, a lot of entrepreneurial books. But in this room every day, I wake up two hours before I see a human and I contrast where I am versus where I want to be. And then what I’ll do is I will go ahead and get out a sheet of paper, in my case, I actually pull up my Excel. I use Google Sheets, which is like Google’s version of Microsoft Excel. I will type down the action items that I need to take today in order to move from where I am to where I want to be. One of the things that I’m working on right now, just today on my to-do list, is I’m trying – I know I seem stupid to you guys, but this is what I’m doing. I’m trying to and build a large 8-foot wall around our property and I put barbed wire behind it I want to put up a big wood gate with the letter C on it and I want to plant fruit trees and in total right now We have over 40 trees that we’ve planted, but I have this vision for how I want our home to be, and it’s not gonna happen overnight, but I can contrast where I am today versus where I wanna be, and I can begin to schedule action items to get those, to turn my dreams into reality. And so, what are those steps? Well, those steps that I need to take this week is I definitely have to select the right contractor. And I think we found it. This is a guy who was a referral from a Church on the Move friend of ours. A guy by the name of Paul. Paul’s last name escapes me. I’m calling him Paul Wall right now because he’s the one who’s going to be helping us build the wall it looks like. But I had to find that right contractor. Then I have to decide on the right fence. That’s what I’m going to get done today. I’m going to decide on the fence. I’m going to decide on the right contractor. That’s going to happen. That’s kind of in my family area. Now for faith, I like to listen to TD Jakes every single day. As far as fitness, recently I’ve engaged with a personal trainer that I’ll be spending time with. But I don’t want to bore you with all my details, but what I’m saying is, what about you? So wake up two hours before you see somebody, some of you are listening who are going, I’m actually kind of more of an evening person. You know, I like to go to bed around 2 p.m. or 2 a.m. Well, guess what? You’re kind of in that Dr. Zellner-Karat category. That’s fine. Dr. Z stays up late. He typically is going to bed when I’m waking up. I like to wake up around 3 a.m. and he likes to go to bed, I would think, around midnight, 1 a.m., that kind of thing. But the thing is, you have to take at least two hours a day. I would encourage you at least two. If you don’t have time for two, maybe just take one hour a day. But schedule a specific time every day where you will get up and you’ll contrast your life versus from where you are to where you want to be in the six areas. We call this the F6. If you ever come out to a Thrive15.com workshop, we have our in-person, our next in-person two-day workshop is coming up on March 24th and 25th, I believe. If you go to ThriveTimeShow.com, you can get all the details right there. But basically our in-person workshops, we cover the specifics of how to design a life that you’re going to love living. But you’ve got to make sure that you at the very foundation of all of this, you’ve got to schedule time every day. So once you’ve scheduled that time, you’re going to ask yourself, well, where are you going to do this stuff? I mean, some of us, we don’t really have a, I remember I was starting out my business. I didn’t really have a quiet time area. I hadn’t developed a man cave yet. I didn’t have my own property that I could go to. I didn’t have a place I could go and kind of take refuge from the world and the busyness and to work on my life. And so I had to build that over time, obviously. But one place I found that nobody would interrupt me was my bathtub. Your bathtub? You mean that you were planning out your life in your bathtub? Yeah, I was, and I know that seems kind of disturbing to some people. I know that the visual of just ever envisioning me in a bathtub is not a good one for everybody out there. But the thing is, you’ve got to find a place. So again, step one, find a mentor. Step number two is schedule that time to begin to design the life you want. And step number three is you’ve got to determine where you’re going to get this done. I have one thriver who’s made big, big financial gains this year. I mean, we’re talking about has grown the business by over 30 percent. And this person is working out of their truck. And they have just found when they’re on the driveway of their of their business and they’re in the truck nice and early that nobody interrupts them. I’ve got one thriver who emailed me and was just joking about it. But they said, I like to work out of the bathtub, too, which is hysterical. Hopefully that doesn’t become a pattern, but I encourage everybody here listening, write down what mentor or mentor program are you going to reach out to? Two, when are you going to plan, when are you going to design the life that you’re living? And three, where are you going to do this. Now when we come back we’re going to be talking to you more about the growth mindset but we’re going to get into the 11 dysfunctional mindsets that are absolutely repelling wealth and I guarantee you if you’re listening to this show right now you’re going to find at least one of these mindsets, one of these dysfunctions that has been plaguing you throughout your career. I’ll tell you which ones been plaguing me but I’d encourage you to write down the dysfunctions and figure out which one or which aspects of each mindset is maybe plaguing you because once you’re aware of yourself and you’re aware of those limitations and those limiting factors that are causing you to not get where you want to go, then you can begin improving upon it. For those of you just listening for the first time, I encourage you to go to thrivetimeshow.com, subscribe to the podcast, and make sure you go up there and learn about our in-person two-day workshops. Your first month of Thrive15.com is always $1, and with that $1 first month, we include our in-person Thrive Time workshop tickets. Stay tuned. We’re going to learn about the dysfunctional entrepreneurial mindsets when we come back on the Thrive Time show right here on 1170. All right, Thrive Nation, welcome back into the inspiration conversation. My name is Clay Clark. I’m the former SBA Entrepreneur of the Year and the father of five human kids sent here to both entertain and educate you. Now typically we have Dr. Robert Zellner on the show with me and we also feature some guests, but today it is me solo, like my name was Han. Hopefully some of you will find that to be funny later tomorrow. But we’re talking today about the answer to, we’re answering a question today from a Thriver out there in Michigan. Many people go to Thrivetimeshow.com and download the podcasts. And we have a Thriver up there that apparently has somehow through the vast interweb, through Google optimization, that kind of thing, has found our radio show and has now began downloading the podcast and is now subsequently emailing us to info at Thrive15.com with some questions. And I thought that his question was perhaps one of the most simple yet profound questions that you could possibly ask. He asked, he says, you talk so much about having a great mindset, but, and I’m paraphrasing his question, but basically, what is the entrepreneurial mindset? And we just talked about that being that you have to be coachable. You’ve got to be very, very coachable. And you must, one, you must schedule time daily to sit down and map out your goals. Two, you must ask yourself where you’re going to do that. And three, you must find a mentor. But now we’re going to get into the 11 wealth-destroying mindsets that I think are really holding back a lot of us out there. A lot of us, I know there was a time in my life where I struggled financially, I struggled with the business, and it was because, not because I wasn’t ambitious, not because I wasn’t motivated, not because I didn’t want success, not because I hadn’t walked on hot coals, which full disclosure, I did not walk on hot coals but don’t tell anybody but the thing was I just Didn’t know what to do. And so I was reading a think and grow rich by Napoleon Hill which little backstory for you Napoleon Hill Was the personal apprentice of Andrew Carnegie who during his lifetime was the world’s second wealthiest man only behind John D Rockefeller. And Napoleon Hill was also, he went on to become the best selling author of the book Think and Grow Rich. It’s the number one individual, outside of the chicken soup for the soul series, it’s the number one self-help book of all time, selling millions and millions of copies. It’s endorsed by many of the world’s top leaders and in there he begins to teach you the specific mindset you want to have to be a successful entrepreneur. But there’s a notable quotable from his book that I want to read to you because I feel like once you grasp this concept, your mind’s going to be blown. So get the duct tape ready. I don’t want to be responsible for any blown brains. So here we go. He says, a Carnegie or a Rockefeller or a James J. Hill or a Marshall Field, accumulates a fortune through the application of the same principles available to all of us. But we envy them and their wealth without ever thinking of studying their philosophy and applying it to ourselves. We look at a successful person in the hour of their triumph and wonder how they did it, but we overlook the importance of analyzing their methods, and we forget the price they had to pay in the careful and well-organized preparation that had to be made before they could reap the fruits of their efforts. Wow! Napoleon Hill go easy on us my friend. That’s a lot of knowledge right there to fit inside our craniums. And so I believe it starts with curiosity. You have to ask yourself how is it that some people are achieving so much more success than I’m having? How is it that some people are achieving time freedom and financial freedom and I’m stuck where I am. It starts with that question and then you email info at thrive15.com and bam we have a show about it. But now let’s get into the 11 dysfunctional mindsets that are holding a lot of people back and here’s dysfunction number one. I encourage you to write this down. I’ll go ahead and give you a moment to grab a pen. So here we go. Okay, it’s getting awkward because it’s live radio but perhaps you have an Etch-A-Sketch or a smartphone or something to take notes with. So here we go. The employee mindset entrepreneur. This is where you want to be a successful entrepreneur, but you desperately want to be told that you can keep the same schedule that you had when you were nine to five working as an employee because you, I value life balance. Just like when you work for someone else, anytime there’s snow on the road, you want to call in and request off for safety reasons. But for your own business, you want to take the day off before every major holiday and the day after every major holiday and you’re tempted to take off those quasi-holidays and those all those that all those B-level employees want to take off, like Columbus Day. So you desperately want the law of suing and reaping not to apply to you because it’s you. I mean, you don’t wanna be held accountable for the fact that you don’t have any crops growing as a result of you not sowing the seeds. And so I’m gonna give you some little fun factoids here. This is according to an article published by the Business Insider called, “‘Check Out How Much the Average American Works Each Year “‘Compared to the French, the Germans, and the Koreans, “‘and the average American is now working approximately 1,680 hours per week. Which, if you were dividing that by 40 hours per week, means that the average American is really only working 40 to 42 hours, or 40 to 42 weeks per year. Think about that for a second. The average American is only working between 40 and 42 weeks per year, which is totally fine. I mean, once you’ve made it, once you’ve got to where you want to go, you can absolutely take as many days off as you want to take off. But I made a list of all of the holidays that are out there that I see want entrepreneurs. That’s like an entrepreneur. It’s kind of someone who wants to be an entrepreneur but isn’t there yet. I encourage you to circle some of the holidays that you tend to take off and then just think about it. I mean, are you even working enough time to potentially have success? I mean Elon Musk one of the most successful entrepreneurs of our time the guy who started solar city SpaceX Tesla one of the founding fathers of PayPal He says you just he’s talking to entrepreneurs He says if you want to become a successful entrepreneur You just have to work 80 to 100 hours per week You just have to and I would say people say well, oh my gosh, that sounds terrible. No, you have to work that much until you don’t, because you’ve got to get that business up into orbit. And just like launching a rocket, like they do at SpaceX, there’s an unbelievable amount of fuel, capital, energy, stress, systems that have to be built to get that, get that rocket, get your rocket into space. But once you’re into space, once you’re into orbit, so to speak, you can kind of coast a little bit because you can achieve that time freedom and financial freedom that you’ve been dreaming about. And now your job is to hold the team accountable, not necessarily to work every single hour of the day to get ahead. But here are just some of the holidays that you could take off. The day before New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, the day after New Year’s Day, the day before Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and the day after Martin Luther King Jr. day, the day before President’s Day, President’s Day, the day after President’s Day, the Thursday before Good Friday, then Good Friday, then the Saturday before Easter, and Easter, and the day after Easter. You kind of get it, right? I know some people that take off the day before Memorial Day, then they take off Memorial Day, then they take off the day after Memorial Day, and the day before Independence Day, and Independence Day, and the day after Independence Day, and blah, blah, blah. The point is, I gotta ask, you gotta be real with yourself are you are you putting in the work needed to achieve the success that you want you know Jerry West a successful NBA executive Hall of Fame player he said this he says you can’t get much done in life if you only work on the days when you feel good my friend life is not a dress rehearsal life is absolutely not a dress rehearsal we only have one shot at this life. One shot, everything rides on tonight. Even if I got three strikes, I’ma go for it. This moment… Stay tuned. Thrive Time Show. I’m not the… All right, Thrive Nation, welcome back. It is showtime. It’s the Thrive Time Show on your radio. My name is Clay Clark. I’m the former SBA Entrepreneur of the Year. Sit here to help you make your wallet grow. If you’re just now joining in with us here, we’re answering a question from a Thriver in Michigan who writes, they said, what is, and I’m paraphrasing here, but what is the successful entrepreneurial mindset? We tackled that earlier on the show, and now as we move forward, we’re talking about the 11 dysfunctions, the mindsets that will absolutely repel wealth if you want to become a successful entrepreneur. And the first one is you absolutely cannot, you absolutely cannot have an employee mindset as an entrepreneur. Meaning you just can’t take the days off the typical employee would take off, you can’t call in sick, you can’t observe every federal holiday and every day before every federal holiday, you can’t take off when it’s snowing, you can’t take off when you don’t feel like it, because you just won’t get enough momentum and traction. And if you missed the notable quotable, I could read this over and over for hours and hours and turn it into almost kind of a mantra because it’s so powerful, what Jerry West, the Hall of Fame basketball player and the legendary NBA executive said. He says, you can’t get much done in life if you only work on the days when you feel good. Well, well said Jerry West. I mean, you just gotta grind. That’s what entrepreneurship is. You’ve got to determine where you want to go and you have to hold yourself accountable to taking the daily action step needed to get there. Now the second dysfunctional mindset is the aggressive, critical, and demanding of the immediately impossible results entrepreneur. If you say, well what does that mean? Well there’s a lot of people out there who have the mindset needed to start a business. You go, well, what are the mindsets needed to start? Well, one is you either have to, one, be unemployable. I mean, if you just can’t hold a job, a lot of people end up becoming an entrepreneur. If it’s a situation where you are just, you’re just determined that you can’t work for somebody else, you want to do your own thing, but you have to be decisive. But once you’ve started a business, for whatever reason it is, you’ve got to understand that things take time. And so, you know, this is you if you basically you don’t like the concept that over a 25 year period of time, a guy like Dr. Zellner, with diligence and daily discipline has been able to build an auto auction, one of the state’s most profitable optometry clinics, a horse breeding facility, a successful, durable medical equipment company, a radio show, a diagnostic sleep center, a booming online business. A lot of people don’t like the fact that it took them 25 years to do that because they’ve pounded so many energy drinks, they’ve attended so many money magnet seminars, they’ve watched Tony Robbins, they’ve watched these watch these Tai Lopez videos until they’re, you know, if you’ve ever seen Tai Lopez, this is the genius that is online on YouTube commercials typically. And if you watch Tai Lopez, he’ll say something to the effect of, hi, this is Tai Lopez here, I’m on my private jet. And in the background, there’s always models, there’s like male models, there’s female models. And he’ll say, yeah, I’ve saw a lot of people want to know how I’ve been able to achieve success, how I’ve been able to get on this private jet and travel around. Well, let me tell you what, I have 67 steps and if you’ll permit this system, you’ll be making a million dollars within like seven minutes or something. I mean, he’s got this whole, and a lot of people want that. They want to get immediate overnight success, but wealth gained through folly will quickly dissipate. The people who are into this get rich mindset are also the people who aren’t fond of the concept of gravity. They believe that they should be able to fly simply because they’re highly motivated. If you have a burning desire to make your video go viral, to make your millions, it’s basically the mindset of you want to know the proven path up the mountain to success. So you hire a business coach or a consultant or you read the books, you study what you need to do to become successful. Somebody points to you, okay, to get up that mountain, here’s the path. You got to go this step, that step, kind of like, what about Bob? Baby steps, baby steps. You have to take one step after the other and that’s how you move up the mountain. But you don’t want that. You just want the reward. You don’t want to go through the struggle. Another, another, I guess, warning that this may be you, if you’re this entrepreneur who wants the overnight success, as we talk about dysfunctional mindset number two, is you don’t like this notable quotable. So I’m going to read this notable quotable to you. It’s a quotable that is notable from Gino Wickman, the founder of the Traction Business Coaching Program, a very fine program, one of the competitors that we, in the marketplace of business consulting that we work with or work against. He’s the competition but this is notable quote was fabulous. He says this, most people are sitting on their own diamond minds and the surest way to lose your diamond mind is to get bored, become over ambitious or to begin thinking the grass is greener on the other side. Find your focus, find your core focus, stick to it, and devote your time and resources to excelling in it. How many times do we finally get some traction at a job, and then we move on to another one? How many times do we start a business, and once it gets tough, we just start to get some wins, and then we want to switch to a different industry because we met somebody who’s driving a Lamborghini in that industry? As a fun example here, Steve Currington is one of our clients. He’s the mortgage expert in Tulsa. His website is stevecurrington.com. He’s a great guy. And recently, the other day, he pulled up in the office driving a brand new neon green Lamborghini. Well, the reason, right, because it’s slightly used, maybe 12,000 miles on it or something. And I’m telling you what, he’s been able to earn that income and achieve that success and drive that car as a result of working very, very hard. He didn’t get that success because he’s a member of the Idea Week Club. He’s been focused, he’s been diligent. Diligence means the steady application of effort. And so if you want to become successful, you’ve got to figure out what you need to do and then you just have to keep doing it. Keep taking those steps up the mountains, up that mountain. Do not get discouraged. Find the mountain you want to get to the top of and stay the course. Do not get distracted. Now, dysfunctional mindset number three is the chronically distracted entrepreneur. This is somebody who it’s hard for you to focus or to pay attention because you just now received a notification on your phone that you want to check real quick. It’s hard for you to write the thousand words of content needed for your website because every time you go on your computer, you’ve set up your Facebook notifications so you see Facebook updates all the time. It’s hard for you to sit down and write the business plan because you’re also watching CNN and the up-to-the-minute hurricane coverage. You’re somebody who really doesn’t like this kind of conversation because while we’ve been talking you’ve also had 17 different thoughts. And it’s easy for you to get prescribed attention deficit disorder medication. And so you really don’t want to deal with yourself, which is that you tend to be distracted. You know, we’re in a time and place in American culture where basically we’ve had it good for a long, long time. And so we’ve had to almost create like diseases and disorders to justify the fact that we are not willing to put in the work needed to achieve success. And so I would I would encourage you with this notable quotable, this is you Mr. Distracted or Mrs. Distracted, probably not Mrs. I mean the women, the fine listeners we have, the women out there you are never distracted, it’s just the guys. We man bear pigs, we struggle with getting distracted, but you ladies, no no no, you don’t struggle with being distracted. Here’s a notable quotable that comes at you hot from Daniel Goldman, the renowned psychologist. He says, we need to recreate boundaries. When you carry a digital gadget, that creates a virtual link to the office. You need to create a virtual boundary that didn’t exist before. I mean, maybe that’s you. Maybe you feel like giving up because you can’t stop being distracted. But I encourage you, do not give up. Stay the course. You can do it. You can absolutely do it. All right, welcome back to the Thrive Time Show on your radio. If you’ve ever struggled to find what you’re looking for, if you feel like you could do more, achieve more, be more, if you find yourself feeling like so many Americans where you just feel like you’re not financially where you want to be with your career. You’re just not there yet. This is the show for you. It’s the Thrive Time Show on your radio. It’s business school without the BS and yes my name is Clay Clark. I am with you here today. Typically Dr. Robert Zellner joins me on the show, the co-host with the Bo-ost, but today he’s out expanding his vast entrepreneurial empire and we are just so excited to be here with you today. I’m excited to be here with you today talking about the answers to the questions that you have. We pride ourselves on answering the questions that you have. And so if you say, well, how can I submit my questions? How can I do that? What you do is you email info at thrive15.com. That’s info at thrive15.com. And we do everything we possibly can to answer each and every question that relates to business and building a successful life. Also we have our in-person two-day workshops and I’m telling you what, you definitely want to get out to this next in-person workshop. It’s going to be on March 24th and 25th. If you’ve yet to attend one, just Google Thrive 15 reviews or Thrive 15 conference reviews, reviews of the Thrive 15 conference. You can see video reviews Text reviews Google reviews. You can see all those different metrics all those different reviews there You can see what people had to say about the previous workshops But the way the workshops work is they start off every day from 7 a.m. And they go until 3 p.m So it’s a two-day in-person workshop. So we start at 7 a.m And we go until 7 45 we think if we take a 15 minute break Then we come back and we go from 8 to 8.45 and so on. We break for lunch, we come back, we do a couple hours of power, we finish up at 3. It’s two days, it’s intensive, it’s the stuff behind the stuff. It’s like we had one of our Thrivers tell us recently from California, he said, I have a degree in business and I learned more at your two-day workshop than I learned in my entire time that I attended college. We had another Thriver actually from the University of Tulsa that told us that they were spending $56,000 a year and they’re actually still spending $56,000 a year to attend the fine university of the University of Tulsa to study business. And they said, I learned more in the two-day workshop than I’ve learned in the entirety of my career there as a student at the University of Tulsa as a junior in college. And so I’m telling you what, our in-person workshops are great. We’ve made them super affordable for you and this is how it works. If you are a member of the thrive15.com community, you can just attend those workshops. You can just attend them. So this is how it works. It’s $1 to subscribe to your first month of thrive15.com. One month for your first month of the world’s best business school. You go to thrive15.com, you sign up, you check it out. It’s $1 for your first month. Now after you’ve done that sign up process, you can get out to an in-person workshop. And I’m telling you, it’s a game changer. There are no upsells and we are here to serve you. And a Thriver just like you from Michigan emailed in a question wanting to know about the entrepreneurial mindset. And one of the questions that they had was, you know, what is the entrepreneurial mindset and what mindset should I be having if I’m going to start a successful business? Well, we taught that earlier on in the show, and now we’re moving on to the 11 dysfunctional mindsets that are plaguing many entrepreneurs out there. And this dysfunctional mindset number four is that you’re the knowledgeable, skeptical, and complex business’s wannabe leader. So basically, you graduated from the University of Wharton with a Bachelor of Science degree or the University of whatever with a degree in whatever, and you’ve come to the realization that the marketplace is not going to pay you based upon your academic resume. You know just enough about everything to wow your friends and to engage in an intelligent conversation with any random person that you’ve ever met on a plane, but in the back of your mind you’re thinking, if this doesn’t work, I might have to go back and get my MBA. You’re in love with the vision and the goal setting part of the business, but you’re not necessarily in love with the results you’re getting right now. You want to know the specifics. What do I need to do? But then when someone tells you what to do, then you say, well, that doesn’t, I don’t know, I’ll probably just watch some more TED Talks. It’s probably not logical what you’re saying, so I’m going to go get more education. But eventually you have to do something, you have to take action. And so a notable quotable that I want to gift to you, if this is you, Mr. Knowledgeable, skeptical, and complex business wannabe leader, this is from Jim Rohn, the bestselling author. He says, you don’t get paid for the hour, you get paid for the value that you bring to the hour. And so for me, I know when I was starting DJ Connection, I didn’t know how to build a website, I didn’t know how to make cold calls, I didn’t know how to advertise effectively, and I was not a very good disc jockey. I was not good at presentation. So the big five areas that were plaguing me is I didn’t have a good website, I wasn’t good at sales, I wasn’t good at DJing, I wasn’t good in 55 things, but I worked super hard and yet I never achieved any success for the longest time. But once I reached out to somebody who knew how to write successful ad copy, somebody who knew how to make advertisements that worked, somebody who knew how to make a trade show booth that worked, once somebody taught me sales, once somebody taught me how to build a repeatable system, I was able to grow DJConnection.com to the point where we did thousands and thousands of weddings a year. Now the company, I no longer own the company, but now it’s in multiple states all over the country. It’s growing by leaps and bounds and it’s not because I’m a genius. It’s because I took the time to study what I needed to do to do that practical education. You see there’s so much of this non-practical education out there. There’s so much of this, you know, these documentaries about minimalism or these documentaries about being socially responsible in the business world. But that’s great. But until you sell something, your business is going to fail. I mean, if you can’t sell, your business is going to go to hell, and that doesn’t feel very good. So if you’re listening right now, maybe you need to learn sales. Maybe you have so much education, and it’s academic education, but you have no practical education. My advice to you would be definitely go to thrive15.com, watch every sales video we have, every video we have about anything that you’re struggling with. And it’s a dollar for the first month. It confounds my brain. My brain cannot understand. My mind blows my own mind every time I think about how somebody could not be willing to spend a dollar on their own self-improvement. I don’t know. And if you’re somebody who wants to attend our in-person workshops, you definitely need to go to thrive15.com and get all signed up for that. Go to thrivetimeshow.com, get signed up for those in-person workshops, and I know that your life will never be the same. Now, dysfunctional mindset number five is the never-on-time guy. You know, this is you, you know, your life is so busy that nobody could possibly understand how busy you are. You know, although I personally have, you know, five kids and 40 chickens and nine businesses, I could never possibly understand how busy you are. You know, although, although my father, you know, died from, from ALS right in front of my eyes while our family was trying to take care of him. And although I went through the stress of that, and although my son was born blind, and although I deal with over 100 employees, and although, oh, but busy, busy, your life is so much, my life is so much more stressful than yours. Now the thing is, listen here, I used to have a job at Target, and I had a job at Applebee’s, and I had a job at DirecTV all at the same time. And you know how you get to work on time if that’s your lot in life. What you do is you bring your target shirt to work with you when you go to Applebee’s. So when you show up to Applebee’s, you’ve got your green Applebee’s shirt on. I think I wore khaki pants back in the day. But hanging up on a hanger in my car, I’ve got my target shirt, right? So when I finish working up at Applebee’s, what do you do? Well, you hop inside your hand-painted 1989 Ford Escort. I repeat, your hand painted 1989 Ford Escort with I’m not sure how many miles were on it But hundreds of thousands of miles and you get in the car and then at the stoplight Or when you get into the parking lot of Target you switch shirts I know you can’t text and drive and we’re trying to crack down on irresponsible driving, but I used to change Shirts when at the stoplight I get to the stoplight I change shirts from my Applebee’s shirt to my Target shirt. And then you just, you have to get there on time though, because it doesn’t matter if you can deliver great results if you don’t do them on time. It’s just not going to work. You’re not going to be successful if you can’t be on time. You know, Ben Carson, a guy who ran for president and did not win, but he’s a respectable candidate. He’s actually a guy that I endorsed a lot of his ideology, a lot of his mindsets. He says this, he says, it doesn’t matter if you come from the inner city. People who fail in life are people who find lots of excuses. It’s never too late for a person to recognize that they have the potential in themselves. I mean, this guy’s life’s been made into a movie. He ran for president, and didn’t win, but he made a run for it. He’s been very, very successful, and he came from the inner city, and he’s saying, hey, it doesn’t matter where you come from. The inner city, you come from a farm town, whether you come from a family that’s always on time or a family that’s always late, or maybe you have the whatever it is, you’ve got to be on time. Now, Thrivers, when we come back, we’re going to talk about the dysfunctional mindset number six that is absolutely repelling wealth for many people out there. I’m sure it’s not repelling wealth for you, the listeners, because you are some of the elites on the planet. People who listen to The Thrive Time Show are some of the smartest people on the planet. But for people who are listening to the other show, we’re going to get into the other dysfunctional mindsets. Stay tuned, thrivetimeshow.com. Hey, hey, and hey. Welcome back to The Thrive Time Show on your radio. My name is Clay Clark, the former SBA Entrepreneur of the Year, sitting here to help you make your afternoon just a little bit better. Just a little bit better. If we can improve Oklahoma’s, if we can improve Tulsa’s lunch hour here by 2%, it’s a win for America. Now, many of you right now, it’s around the lunchtime, and you’re going, man, what should I be eating? I mean, should I eat just something that I put in the microwave that I can heat up real quick? Should I go by McDonald’s? Should I grab something, you know, at a gas station? No, no, and no. You need to get out there to Oklahoma Joe’s, because Oklahoma Joe’s has some of the world’s best barbecue. And I’m telling you what, not only are they a proud show sponsor, and are we proud to have them as an endorser of this program, but they are home of the world’s best baked beans. If you’ve never had them, I’m telling you what, you need to get on over there, try those baked beans. They’re absolutely a game changer. And while you’re there, perhaps you want to get the burnt ends. Those are legendary. If you’ve never had them, it is some of the best barbecue on the planet. I don’t necessarily know because I can’t check the IP address, but rumor has it aliens love their barbecue as well. Not only the best in Oklahoma, the best on the planet, but potentially the best within our interstellar, intergalactic system. Now Thrivers, today we are answering questions, mail back questions from Thrivers just like you. Typically on this radio show, if you’re hearing it for the first time, I’m joined with Dr. Robert Zellner, my co-host with the Mo-Ost, but today he’s out expanding his vast entrepreneurial empire. And so you are going to be working with me today. You and I, we’re going solo on this thing. We’re going solo like Han. That’s a Star Wars reference. And we’re talking about the mindset needed to become a successful entrepreneur. And we’re also identifying the 11 dysfunctional mindsets that will destroy wealth and really put an entrepreneur in a, in kind of a cycle. I call it the failure loop or they call it in the book, good to great, the doom loop. But it’s where you’re doing the same thing over and over and it’s not working, but you just keep going faster and faster the wrong way. So dysfunctional mindset, number six, is the I’m not going to do my action items guy. If this is you, and again, it’s always a guy, it’s never the ladies. Ladies are, you ladies, you are some of the smartest people on the planet. Us dudes, us man bear pigs, we need some help. So if you’re listening right now ladies, this is probably not applying to you, but it probably applies to somebody else. But here we go. You believe that if you hop on a coaching call, or you hop into a seminar, or you attend a workshop, and you learn a proven system, but you don’t actually invest your personal time to apply anything that you are actually learning, things will just kind of do themselves. I mean, you secretly believe that the science behind the shake weight and unicorns is plausible. You believe that your product is so good that it will sell itself and that your company will magically build itself without involving you. You’ve subconsciously bought into this kind of a, into the charlatan, get rich quick mindset that has taught you that you can make $20,000 a month while working from home with no money down. You’ve pulled an all-nighter. You know who you are. You pulled an all-nighter. You’ve watched the Get Rich with Real Estate with No Money Down program. You bought that. And you also bought the Shake Weight. And you’ve also bought one of those, oh yes, yes, you purchased the food dehydrator because around 2 a.m. things begin to seem reasonable that are not reasonable. And so what happens is, this is what happens is, you are very, very busy. You’ve got a lot going on. You have a very busy life. Perhaps you have a business that’s not going so well. Perhaps you’re in a career that’s not going so well. But you have that motivation. I mean, if you pulled the average American aside and you asked them the question, you know, what do you want to be when you grow up? What do you want to do a year from now? What do you want to do? They’d all, most people would say, I want to become successful, I want to become financially free, or I want to have time freedom. But I know that. But just by virtue of being born, you’re not entitled to that. We’re not entitled to that. And so what we have to do is we have to understand that we’ve got to block out the time needed to execute the action items that we need to do. Because, I mean, just as an example, optimizing a website. It’s tough to do that. You know, it’s tough to do it because you have to produce more words than anybody else within your given space, your given industry, your given niche. So I’ll give you an example. If you’re in front of your computer right now, maybe you’re on your smartphone, maybe you’re on your tablet, maybe you’re on some kind of device, I want you to Google Tulsa men’s haircuts. And because I’m producing a radio show. I don’t necessarily have the I can’t Google that in front of me So I’m kind of flying blind a little bit here, but Google Tulsa men’s haircuts Okay, and go ahead and pull up another tab in Google broken arrow basketball lessons Okay, that’s that’s Two and then let’s go ahead and Google Tulsa cookies Tulsa cookies now who comes up top that that’s the question who comes up top? That’s the question. Who comes up top? I mean, if you’re on like page seven of Google, no one cares. If you’re on page two of Google, no one cares. I mean, if you want to bury something, put it on page two of Google, right? But once it’s on page one, it’s there for everybody to see. So what happens is you want to be top in Google. If you’re listening right now, I almost guarantee if you’re a business owner, you want to be top in Google. You want to be on page one. And so when you Google those terms, you’ll notice that my businesses, the Elephant in the Room is one of them, Elephant in the Room Men’s Grooming Lounge, we’re on page one of Google. Why are we on page one of Google? Well because we’ve created more content than anybody else to the point where it would be almost impossible to compete with us if you wanted to. I mean you would really have to invest hundreds of thousands of dollars into writing content to beat us at this point because I am absolutely so competitive that once we beat the competition I just wanted to keep going and going and going and going to be so far ahead that they could never catch us and then we continue to apply pressure on ourselves. You might call it insecurity, you might call it megalomaniac disease, you might call it little Napoleon complex, whatever you want to call it, I want to dominate my category. If you go to Broken Arrow basketball camps, that Google search, you’ll find that one of our clients, score basketball is top in Google. Well, why is he top in Google? Because we showed him what to do, but he actually blocked out the time needed to execute the proven plan. If you Google Tulsa cookies, well, why is Barbie cookies top in Google? Again, somebody had to block out the time needed to actually do the work. I mean, once you know about the concept of farming, once you figure out, okay, I need to till the soil. What kind of soil do I need to till? What kind of soil would this crop grow in? Once you’ve figured out what kind of crop will grow well in this kind of soil, you have to till the soil. Then step two is you got to sow the seeds. I mean, after you figure out what kind of seeds are gonna grow well in that soil, you got to eventually sow those seeds. Well some of you are like, yeah but it’s my birthday. I mean it’s my birth. It’s the day of my birth. Can I take that day off? Well, you could, it’s just you wouldn’t be sowing seeds on that day, and therefore you couldn’t expect to reap a harvest on the days that were a consequence or the effect of the cause of you taking off your birthday. So once you, you got to know where to, you know, what kind of soil to sow in or to sow the seeds in, right? What kind of soil that your crops are going to grow well in, but then you have to sow the seeds. Well, then you’ve got to water the seeds, and then you’ve got to actually harvest. I mean, there’s a lot of work that needs to be done, and so you’ve got to schedule time to get these things done. And so I’m going to give you a notable quotable from Elon Musk, because he’s a little bit less nice than I am, and he’s a billionaire, and even though I’ve built multimillion-dollar businesses, this guy’s a billionaire, Tulsa. He’s a billionaire. So if you’re listening right now, I mean, we’re talking about a guy who’s worth billions and he produced billions not only with one company but with two companies. Do you know that he has actually built a multi-million dollar net worth by starting a company from scratch five different times? Unbelievable. This is what Elon Musk says. He says, you have to work like hell. I mean, you just have to put in 80 to 100 hour work weeks. This This improves the odds of success. If other people are putting in 40-hour work weeks and you’re putting in 100-hour work weeks, then even if you’re doing the same thing, you know that you will achieve in four months what it takes them a year to achieve. Somebody’s going, oh man, it’s getting really deep. You mean it took somebody, wait a minute, so you’re saying if you spend 100 hours a week working, you get ahead of somebody working 40, yeah, absolutely. So you’ve got a scheduled time for what matters. You know, it’s not really that fun, but Thomas Edison piles on. I mean, Thomas Edison, many consider this man to be the world’s best inventor. I mean, this is the guy who, you know, came up with the modern light bulb. Some of you might be saying, he stole it from Tesla. That’s fine. But he’s the guy who came up with the modern light bulb. He started GE. He reinvented the modern technology we use to record audio, to record video. How different would the world be, by the way, if Thomas Edison didn’t create the modern light bulb, video and audio? We wouldn’t even recognize the world. I mean, we wouldn’t have radio shows. We wouldn’t have TV. MTV just wouldn’t happen because we wouldn’t have the music or the television. But this is what he says. He says, the three greatest essentials to achieve anything worthwhile are hard work, check, stick-to-itiveness, check, and common sense. He goes on to say, genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. Wow! So it seems as though if you’re somebody who’s struggling time to get your action items done, you need to look at your schedule right now and figure out what you’re going to begin saying no to. Because focus stands for you want to focus on your core task until success. You’ve got to be able to say no to and reject things that aren’t going to help you get to where you’re wanting to go. As an example, my wife and I don’t ever really watch TV unless it’s a Patriots game. You will not find me at dance parties. You won’t find me engaging in long conversations about how I feel. You won’t insert the blank. So I’m asking you, what tradeoffs are you going to make? I mean, the average American is watching over four hours a day of either television or social media. You’ve got to turn that stuff off. You’ve got to find time for what matters. Now, dysfunctional mindset number seven. This is the one that’s hard for some people because you know what to do and you’re just choosing not to do it. You’re choosing not to emotionally engage in your own life. It’s sort of like you’re watching your life, it’s almost like you’re watching someone else’s life. Your life is drifting, but it’s not, you just, I’m not sure how to explain it to you other than you’re letting it happen to you instead of creating and designing the life that you want. This dysfunctional mindset number seven is the non-emotionally engaged guy. So what happens is you don’t want to admit that you’re stuck and that you need help breaking through your biggest limiting factors. So what you do is you just pretend as though life is going just fine. You won’t engage in conversations with a coach or a mentor or a therapist or anybody who can help you, a personal trainer, get to where you want to go. So in your mind, you just pretend as though all is well. And because you’re just trying to maintain homeostasis, you’re trying to maintain that current cycle that you’re in, it’s kind of like you’re farming without sowing seeds, or without tilling the soil, or without watering the seeds. So you just keep farming without doing one of those essential aspects, and it doesn’t actually work for you. You want to achieve financial freedom. You want the corner office. You want the time freedom. freedom but you get a result of putting in boatloads of work but you don’t want to actually fill up your day with the work needed. And here’s a little notable quotable that I’m going to give to you that I wrote myself. I wrote it myself and I give it to you. It is this, my friend, inspiration is the reward. You’re saying, well what’s the reward? I’m waiting to get motivated and then I’m going to start. No, no, no. Inspiration is the reward for getting started. You start before you’re motivated. You see, inspiration is the reward, okay? And inaction, as in not taking action, inaction is your giant. Inaction is your sword. Again, inspiration is the reward. Inaction is your giant. But action is your sword. I’m going to give you some time to marinate on that, because I know that you can absolutely get to the top of the world. You can do it. You can achieve success. I took algebra three times, okay? If I can do it, you can absolutely do it. Stay tuned, drivetimeshow.com. If you’ve been struggling to find that satisfaction and you just want to know what actions you’d need to take to create the life that you want to make, you have found your new favorite show. It’s the Thrive Time Show on the radio. My name is Clay Clark, and I’m the father of five human kids. Live right here in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Went to Oral Roberts University for writing a parody about Oral Roberts University that the school did not find to be as funny as I did. We move on though, but my wife graduated from Oral Roberts University. Our five kids, they participate in gymnastics here at Spirit, Soul, and Body in Broken Arrow. My son plays the drums. We’ve got about 40 chickens. We’ve got ducks. Right now it’s kind of a weird deal because we had this crazy ravenous bobcat and raccoon just monsoon of just carnage, just kill a lot of the chickens and the ducks flew away and so we’re kind of recovering the squad here. But now we have two rabbits, we’ve got a lot of chickens, we have four cats. Things are going good. We’re going to be expanding our vast Camp Clark and Chicken Palace. We’re planting fruit trees all over Tulsa, like my name was Johnny Appleseed or something. And we’re planting pine trees, we’re building the wall. Why am I saying all that stuff? Because I’m an Oklahomey. I’m just like you. At one point in my life, I really, really wanted to achieve financial success. And since being able to do that, I am on a mission to help mentor you and to provide you with that knowledge they don’t provide you in business college. And I love it when you ask questions. And so one of you emailed us info at thrive15.com. Again, I emailed info at thrive15.com. You also can go to thrivetimeshow.com and catch any podcasts you missed or catch the earlier portion of today’s program. And you can learn about our in-person workshops at thrivetimeshow.com. But this Thriver in Michigan, I guess he’s a podcast listener there. But he emails this question. He says, what is the mindset? What mindset do I need to have to become a successful entrepreneur? And so we’re teaching you the growth mindset that you need to have. But now we’re moving on to the 11 dysfunctional mindsets that will absolutely cause you to fail if this mindset is prevalent in your business and in your entrepreneurial endeavors. And so this next dysfunctional mindset is, dysfunctional mindset number eight. The I’m going to try to solve all of my business questions at once guy. You see, you wanna solve all of your business problems now, although every successful entrepreneur on the planet will tell you that you must simplify and focus on methodically knocking out the action items that will move the needle one at a time. You have to prioritize the items that are going to move the needle. The biggest limiting factors, tackle those first and it will create the biggest impact in your business. For you, my friend, you must understand that the process of building a successful business is just that. It’s a process and it’s not an overnight thing. I’ve been married 15 years and so many young men and women will reach out to me and say, what’s the tip? How do you have a successful marriage? How do you do it? What is the thing you’re doing? Well, I will tell you this. My wife and I are rigorous about scheduling activities together. And there are times where the opportunities that are now presenting themselves to Vanessa and I, so many business owners will reach out and say, could you help me grow my business? And because we now have a proven system to do it and there’s so many testimonials that show we do it and because our one-on-one business coaching program is so affordable, there are just so many people that reach out for business help all the time. Because our Elephant in the Room Men’s Grooming Lounge that we founded with my brother-in-law are doing so well. We’re opening, by the way, our fourth and fifth locations. Our fourth will be in Jenks and our fifth will be in Owasso here before the end of the year. And by the way, if you’ve never been to the Elephant in the Room Men’s Grooming Lounge, I’m telling you what, it’s the stop. It’s the place you have to stop to trim that mop. It’s only a dollar for your first haircut and you owe it to yourself to get in there. It’s one dollar for your first haircut and I promise you it will absolutely change the game for you. You’ll never go anywhere else. That’s what we do at a dollar for the first haircut. But I would just encourage you if you’re frustrated that you want to get everything done at one time, maybe you just have too many things you’re trying to do at once. So go ahead and get out a sheet of paper and make a list of your biggest limiting factors. I call these bliffs, your biggest limiting factor, one because I enjoy Back to the Future and I think I’m always trying to say biff subconsciously. But the bliffs, you want to make a list of your biggest limiting factors. And then you want to figure out when are you going to tackle those items one by one. You know, Steve Jobs has some encouragement for you if this is you. He says, people think focus means saying yes to the thing you’ve got to focus on. That’s not what it means at all. It means saying no to the hundred other good ideas that there are. You have to pick carefully. I’m actually as proud of the things we haven’t done as the things I have done. Innovation is saying no to a SAP to a thousand things Steve Jobs Who’s Steve Jobs? If you don’t know who Steve Jobs is He is the guy who? Co-founded Apple. He was the former CEO of Pixar that took over the company after George Lucas left it for him and He introduced the movie Toy Story He introduced a digital animation the way we know it today. He created the iPad, his team created the iPhone. They changed the way we call people, the way we consume content, the first personal computers with clickable screens. I mean, the whole thing, he’s a game changer. But he says that focus means that you have to make a list of all the things you need to say no to. And that’s where you’re going to find the time needed to get everything done. Now we’re moving on to dysfunctional mindset number nine, which is this is the one that I see the most. This is the one that’s the most common. This is the one that I think we’ve all been guilty of at one point. If you’re an entrepreneur, it’s the everything is burning all the time. There’s always a burning fire. You are just so used to doing just enough to get by that you’re unable to ever get ahead. Because for you, everything is a burning fire. You never consistently block out the one to two hours per day that are required to intentionally design a successful life one day and one action at a time. So you’ve not created the habit yet of diligently mapping out your day in a place and a time where you’re actually gonna be getting all these things done without distractions. Thus, thus, this just in, thus, you are currently trying to do the impossible. You aren’t blocking out quiet time or planning time. I call this time meta time. It’s the two hours of planning time I spend per day planning out my life, designing the life that I proactively want to live. As an example, like Lee Cockerell or Dr. Zellner. These are guys who’ve achieved success that is not possible if you’re not willing to schedule time to work on your business and not just in your business. You see, if you have that constant feeling like you’re always running behind and that everything is a burning fire, well, as your business grows, this is going to become an increasingly bigger problem because at some point you’re going to have a mental breakdown. People wonder, how does somebody have a mental breakdown? It’s because you’re always running behind and you’re ambitious. If you’re ambitious and you are always running behind, you are eventually going to have an explosion. That’s why you’ve got to schedule that time for meta time. Again meta from the Greek word meaning above. You’ve got to schedule time to work above your current drama, your current reactive fires. You absolutely must do this. And I’ll show you how to do it. Coming up next. All right, Thrive Nation, welcome back into the conversation. It’s the Thrive Time show on your radio. My name is Clay Clark, the former SBA Entrepreneur of the Year. In your ear, now typically I’m joined with Dr. Robert Zellner, but he’s out today expanding his vast entrepreneurial empire. And so I am here with you. You are here with me. He is I, I is him, the man with the flat brim hat. My name is Clay Clark and I’m talking today about the answers to the questions that you have. Many of you email us all the time to info at thrive15.com. And when you email us, I don’t think you expect us to answer, but we always answer all of your business questions. That actually is the, I would say, kind of like the spine of this radio show. We are basically responding to and answering the questions that you have. I know for me, when I was stuck and my business wasn’t growing, I felt like I had no idea what to do, like I didn’t have a mentor. It’s kind of like you have a radio show mentorship program. We’re here to help you learn what you need to know to make your business grow. We had a Thriver in Michigan who emailed us a question basically wanting to know what is the entrepreneurial mindset. Entrepreneurial mindset, you know, what mindset does someone need to have if they want to become a successful entrepreneur? and I love and I love the question and we answered it early on in the show and now we’re doing is we’re talking about the 11 dysfunctional mindsets that exist out there where basically You want to become successful, but you’re doing certain things that are retarding your growth They’re preventing you from becoming the entrepreneur that you want to be, that you feel like you deserve to be, and that we want to help you be. And so the dysfunctional mindset number nine is that everything is a burning fire guy. You’re the everything is a burning fire guy. Basically, what you’re doing is everything is a huge issue. It must be done now. Oh my gosh, it has to be done. That’s because we’re not taking out the time on a daily basis to plan and design the life we want. We’re basically just reacting to the life that we have. And how do you know if that’s you? Maybe you always feel like you’re running behind. You never feel like you can get on top of things. And so I’ve seen this happen countless times. I see an entrepreneur who starts out with a big vision for their life, a big goal. They begin to want to proactively plan out their life. Maybe they went to a motivational conference and they were sitting in a room for five hours or six hours. They had the downtime needed to sketch out where they want to be. But the problem is on a daily basis, they’re not having that one-on-one, in-person workshop with themselves. And so Lee Cockerell, one of the Thrive15.com mentors and the man who used to be the Executive Vice President of Walt Disney World Resorts, he has some encouragement for you. He’s actually one of our Thrive15.com mentors. And you can imagine what it would be like to manage 40,000 people. Could you imagine? I mean, some of us are struggling to manage, you know, 10 people. Currently, with our businesses, we have about 115 people with the elephant in the room and the Thrive team. But as far as the totality of the businesses that Dr. Z and I have, it’s hundreds and hundreds of people. But could you imagine what it would be like to manage 40,000 people? How would you ever get caught up? I mean, if you feel overwhelmed when you have five employees, how would you ever feel caught up when you have 40,000 employees? Well, this is what Lee says. Lee says, one way to get your priorities accomplished is to schedule them into your calendar that is realistic. I mean, so for me, I’m just being real, if I go to bed at 9 a.m., I set my alarm at 3 a.m., which gives me 6 hours to sleep. Some of you who are listening right now, you need 8 hours to sleep. Some of you need 7. I’m sure we can get that information for you. But you’ve got to figure out how many hours of sleep do you need, and then you’ve just got to plan out when will that time be on a daily basis that you’re going to map out and design the life you want. And it’s going to take you a couple hours, at a minimum, an hour a day. So you’ve got to ask yourself, when is that time? When is that time where you’re gonna sit down, alone with your thoughts, and you’re going to sketch out the six Fs. You’re gonna write out faith, family, finance, fitness, friendships, and fun. Again, I’ll repeat one more time. I’ll go kinda slow so you can write them down. You’re gonna write out faith, family, friendships, finance, fitness, and fun. You wanna sketch out those areas and ask yourself, where do you wanna be in those areas versus where are you currently? And then you want to break it down to the smallest action items possible, and you want to begin to design your day. If you ever wanna come to the thrive15.com in-person workshops, you can watch me, you can learn from me, I’ll teach you how to do it. But I will just tell you, once you move beyond the hocus pocus, like, oh my gosh, I’m so excited to be successful. I want to be successful. I deserve to be successful. I am going to be successful. Once you move beyond the, the, the, hey, I’m motivated move where it’s that kind of hocus pocus magic that, that, that, that abracadabra, hocus pocus, once you begin to get your daily priorities in focus, it becomes so much easier to achieve success. And we will teach you how to do that at our next in-person Thrive Time workshops. Our next one, if you’re wanting to know when that is, if you go to thrivetimeshow.com, that’s thrivetimeshow.com, you can learn the information for the next one. But our next one is going to be March 24th and 25th at our beautiful Thrive15.com world headquarters. And basically, if you are a member of the Thrive15.com community, meaning that you are a subscriber to the Thrive15 online business school, that workshop is accessible for you for free. So basically you pay $19 a month your first month at thrive15.com is $1 But then beyond that it’s it’s it’s $19 a month. So yeah, what about I thought to you was like the Tulsa’s best business school And it’s fifty six thousand dollars a year. Well We believe our better our business school is better and it’s $19 a month But the first month is only $1 you can try it out And if you’re a member of the thrive15.com, a growing community of thousands and thousands of entrepreneurs all around the world, then you can come out to our in-person workshops for free. So check it, check it, check it out. The main thing is that we only have limited availability. We want it to be actionable and interactive, and so to do that, we limit the number of people that can attend. So dysfunctional mindset number 10. This is the constantly calling, texting, and emailing with urgent action items guy. This is where you’re new to business success and because 8 out of 10 businesses around you fail according to Forbes, you’ve never personally witnessed the nitty-gritty details of somebody actually starting and growing a successful business. And so with this, you know, you basically end up, you feel like everything’s urgent and you begin to constantly text and when you text somebody they respond, you email them and they respond. You call them and they respond. As you’re constantly texting, emailing, social media updating, and you just end up running around like you’re herding a bunch of cats, and there’s burning fires all around you. And so I’m going to read you a notable quotable from Gino Wickman, the founder of the Traction Business Coaching Program that hopefully will be helpful for you. He says, successful businesses operate with a crystal clear vision that is shared by everyone. They have the right people in the right seats, they have a pulse on their operations by watching and managing a handful of numbers on a weekly basis. But on a weekly basis, what you wanna do on a weekly basis is determine your goals for the week and then assign them to the members of your team. Assign who needs to do it, when they need to get it done, and what they need to get done, and then get out of their way and let them get it done this week. Trust me, I went from the dorm room to the boardroom. I get it. ♪ I made a mixtape in my dorm room. I can’t believe this. It doesn’t seem true. I won’t stop though. Everybody knows. Learn how to move beyond being stuck. Stay tuned. Yes. Yes. Yes. Welcome back to the Thrive Time show on your radio My name is Clay Clark the former SBA entrepreneur of the year sent here to queue up Old school music soundtracks from the 80s. Remember that movie back to the future. That was an incredible movie well Well done. Well done producers. Well, Jeff. Well done Michael J Fox Well done back to the future Christopher Lloyd. Well done. That show was awesome. And so we’re talking today about the success mindset that every entrepreneur must have if they’re going to achieve success, but we’re also talking about the 11 dysfunctional mindsets that many entrepreneurs are fighting through on a daily basis. And if you’re just tuning in here, what we were talking about last was the dysfunctional mindset number 10, which is the constantly calling, texting, and emailing with Urgent Action Items Guy. You see, Gino Wickman is an unbelievable business coach. His program is pretty expensive, but it’s called Traction, and he wrote a book called Traction. He says this, he says, successful businesses operate with a crystal clear vision that is shared by everyone. They have the right people in the right seats. They have a pulse on their operations by watching and managing a handful of numbers on a weekly basis. They identify and solve issues promptly in an open and honest environment. They document their processes and ensure that they are followed by everyone. They establish priorities for each employee and ensure that a high level of trust, communication, and accountability exists on each team. Well, Gino, that is helpful. However, I will say that I know many people listening right now, you just feel overwhelmed with this constant barrage of text messages, emails, voicemails. When do you find time? The main thing, Thrivers, is you must schedule time. You must get control of your schedule, and you must block out time for what matters most if you’re going to be successful. I know for me, like right now, I’m recording a radio show with you live. So that means when I’m recording the radio show, I’m not somewhere else. I’m not taking a text message. I’ve never done a radio show where I’m like, oh, excuse me, Thrivers, let me quick get that call. I’ve never done a radio show where I’m like, hey, Thrivers, hey, real quick, I’ve got to respond to that Facebook message, my bad. Many entrepreneurs, I see this all the time, I get hired by big corporations to come in there and help fix a lot of the time management issues they’re running into, a lot of the effectiveness and issues they’re having, basically the lack of productivity. And I went into one group recently, this was probably about four months ago, I go in there and half the team is on their laptop during the meeting responding to emails, text messages, and things that have no relation to the actual meeting that they’re in. So it’s like they’re physically present but they’re not mentally present. And if that’s you, I’m just telling you, you’ve got to be mentally present and physically present. Turn the laptop off, turn the cell phone off, and be mentally present where you are all the time. Now if you are doing emails, be present there, but don’t be responding to phone calls while checking your emails. You’ve got to block out time for what matters most. Now the next dysfunctional mindset, dysfunctional mindset number 11, that I see a lot of entrepreneurs struggle with, this is the I’m mad at the messenger guy. Well, the former communist leaders of the Soviet Union thought that the systemic redistribution of wealth through a government-mandated system was a great idea. They really did believe this was a great idea. They really didn’t like it when they surveyed their people, and they found that most of their population was either unmotivated, literally starving. I mean, hey Carl, how are you? Carl, what do you think about communism? I’m starving. Oh, well that’s not a good feedback there. Carl, we’ll move on to someone else. The thing is, if you’re out there interviewing your, if you’re auditing your company and you don’t like the way the numbers look, you can’t get mad at the person who presents you with the facts. And I see so many entrepreneurs that are irritated with the person who presents them with the truth. You know, the guys who created the communism and the Soviet Union, I’m sure Stalin thought it was a great idea that, hey, check it out. Guys, we’re all, you know, many of us in this room are doing very well. Some of us are struggling. And so what I want to do is I just want to come up with a way that we can redistribute the money that we all make so that way, you know, overall, I mean, you know, we all make about the same. We can work less. We can save more. We can spend more time with our families. It just seems like a good idea. I mean, communism, socialism seems like a good idea, except for when you try to execute it, you try to implement it, and you realize that when people aren’t motivated for their own benefit to achieve results, they don’t. And then you run out of food, you don’t have enough food to feed your people, no technology is invented, there’s no improvement, there’s no… that’s what capitalism is all about. I mean, as you and I are out there trying to improve our own financial situation and our own level of time freedom and financial freedom as we go out there and compete with each other. I mean, as an example, like the elephant in the room or a men’s grooming lounge, as we’ve gone out there and tried to beat the competition, the haircut experience has got better and better for thrivers like you. So you go into any of our three locations and you’ll notice as we’ve gone into the marketplace and tried to compete with sports clips and great clips and other great companies, we have had to improve our game. We’ve had to step our game up quite a bit. That’s the thing that’s why a lot of people love watching pro sports, is that in order for one guy to receive that multi-million dollar contract that he wants to receive, or for that one lady to receive that big contract that she wants, she has to compete and perform at a higher level than the person she’s going against. And so long story short, the concept of this is that socialism and communism didn’t work, but anybody who gave them negative feedback, they ended up killing these people because they attacked the messenger. Anybody who they surveyed who didn’t vote a hundred percent in favor of communism, they eliminated these people. So if you think about our planet and the history of man, we’re not doing so well when it comes to not being mad at the messenger. I mean, think about this. Jesus came to the earth and pointed out what he believed to be truth and what I believe to be truth. So they’re like, well, Jesus is telling us to be nice to our neighbor and love our neighbor as ourselves. And he’s trying to tell us these things. Well, we should probably kill him. I mean, think about Martin Luther King, Martin Luther King Jr. He dared to say, I have a dream for my four little children that one day they will live in a nation where they will not have to be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. And so they assassinated him. So the thing about, the thing about our, kind of the pattern that we see, none of us want to be the guy who killed Martin Luther King Jr. None of us want to be the guy who ordered Jesus to die. But it’s a natural thing, it’s the way most people do it, to attack the messenger. And so with this mindset, when you hear uncomfortable truths about your business, you realize that this is the perfect time to attack the character, or the resume, or the emotions of the person presenting you with the simplicity and diligence required to actually systemically improve your business. And so Lee Cockerell has this notable quote, which I thought was kind of a fun little bonus gift for the man who used to manage Walt Disney World. For anybody out there who happens to be the messenger, I mean if you’re an accountant, you’re an attorney and it’s sort of your lot in life to give people the uncomfortable truth that they don’t want to know, this is what Lee Cockerell gives you as a tip. He says, if you’re going to tell the truth, you had better be funny or it won’t go over well. So, again, if you are an aspiring messenger or you are a messenger, if you have to tell someone the truth, you’d probably have better bring some gallows humor or at least a little bit of humor to the situation. And here’s another notable quotable though, for the person who’s receiving the information. I mean, if you’re the entrepreneur, you’re receiving this information and it frustrates you because you don’t want to hear the uncomfortable truth that if you maintain your current course, you’re never going to get ahead, then here is a notable quotable for you, coming at you hot from Tim Ferriss. And Tim Ferriss is the best-selling author of the four-hour work week. I’m sure you’ve seen his book at Barnes & Noble. He’s a venture capitalist. He’s one of the top podcasters on the planet. And he says this. He says, for all the most important things, the timing always sucks. Waiting for a good time to quit your job? The stars will never align and the traffic lights of life will never be all green at the same time. The universe doesn’t conspire against you, but it doesn’t go out of its way to line up the pens either. Conditions are never perfect. Someday is the disease that will take your dreams to the grave with you. Pro and con lists are just as bad. If it’s important to you and you want to do it, eventually just do it and correct course along the way. And so Thrivers, if you’re listening right now, I don’t care if you’re struggling with a dysfunctional mindset, one of these 11, or you have a big dream or a big burden inside you. You almost feel like it’s a burden at this point, almost an obligation. You feel like God’s given you a gift to achieve success. I know that you have what it takes to become successful. So get out to one of our Thrive Time in-person workshops. Go to thrivetimeshow.com. It’s thrivetimeshow.com to learn more or listen to this radio show on a daily basis. But either way, take action. Maybe you’re 20-something, maybe you’re 30-something. Either way, this is your year to thrive. We’ll see you tomorrow at thrivetimeshow.com. Do you know what time it is? 410. It’s TiVo time in Tulsa, Oklahoma, baby. Tim TiVo is coming to Tulsa, Oklahoma, June 27th and 28th. We’ve been doing business conferences here since 2005. I’ve been hosting business conferences since 2005. What year were you born? 1995. Dude, I’ve been hosting business conferences since you were 10 years old, but I’ve never had the two-time Heisman Award winning Tim Tebow come present. And a lot of people, you know, if I followed Tim Tebow’s football career on the field and off the field, and off the field, the guy’s been just as successful as he has been on the field. Now, the big question is, JT, how does he do it? Well, they’re going to have to come and find out, because I don’t know. Well, I’m just saying, Tim Tebow’s going to teach us how he organizes his day, how he organizes his life, how he’s proactive with his faith, his family, his finances. He’s going to walk us through his mindset that he brings into the gym, into business. It is going to be a blasty blast in Tulsa, Russell. Also, this is the first Thrive Time Show event that we’ve had where we’re going to have a man who has built a $100 million net worth. Wow. Who will be presenting. Now, we’ve had a couple of presenters that have had a billion dollar net worth in some real estate sort of things. But this is the first time we’ve had a guy who’s built a service business and he’s built over a hundred million dollar net worth in the service business. It’s the yacht driving, multi-state living guru of franchising. Peter Taunton will be in the house. This is the founder of Snap Fitness, the guy behind Nine Round Boxing. He’s going to be here in Tulsa, Oklahoma, June 27th and 28th. JT, why should everybody want to hear what Peter Taunton has to say? Oh, because he’s incredible. He’s just a fountain of knowledge. He is awesome. He has inspired me listening to him talk. And not only that, he also has, he practices what he teaches, so he’s a real teacher. He’s not a fake teacher like business school teachers. So you’ve got to come learn from him. Also, let me tell you this, folks. I don’t want to get this wrong, because if I get it wrong, someone’s going to say, you screwed that up, buddy. JT, you’re in the process of building a super successful company. Did you start out with a million dollars in a bank account? No, I did not. Nope, did not get any loans, nothing like that, did not get an inheritance from parents or anything like that. I had to work for it and I am super grateful I came to a business conference. We get into the specifics, the specific steps on what you need to do to optimize your website. We’re going to teach you how to fix your conversion rate. We’re going to teach you how to do a social media marketing campaign that works. How do you raise capital? How do you get a small business loan? We teach you everything you need to know here during a two-day, 15-hour workshop. It’s all here for you. You’re going to leave energized, motivated, but you’re also going to leave empowered. The reason why I built these workshops is because as an entrepreneur, I always wish that I had this. And because there wasn’t anything like this, I would go to these motivational seminars, no money down, real estate, Ponzi scheme, get motivated seminars, and they would never teach me anything. It was like you went there and you paid for the big chocolate Easter bunny, but inside of it, it was a hollow nothingness. And I wanted the knowledge, and they’re like, oh, but we’ll teach you the knowledge after our next workshop. And the great thing is we have nothing to upsell. At every workshop, we teach you what you need to know. There’s no one in the back of the room trying to sell you some next big get-rich-quick, walk-on hot coals product. It’s literally, we teach you the brass tacks, the specific stuff that you need to know to learn how to start and grow a business. I encourage you to not believe what I’m saying, and I want you to Google the Z66 auto auction. I want you to Google elephant in the room. Look at Robert, Zellner, and Associates. Look them up and say, are they successful because they’re geniuses, or are they successful because they have a proven system? When you do that research, you will discover that the same systems that we use in our own business can be used in your business. Come to Tulsa, book a ticket, and I guarantee you it’s going to be the best business workshop ever, and we’re going to give you your money back if you don’t love it. And I have a special guest today. Definition of intelligence is if you agree with me, you’re intelligent. And so this gentleman is very intelligent. I’ve done this show before also, but very seldom do you find somebody who lines up on all counts. As Mr. Clay Clark is a friend of a good friend, Eric Trump. But we’re also talking about money, bricks, and how screwed up the world can get in a few and a half hour. So Clay Clark is a very intelligent man, and there’s so many ways we could take this thing. But I thought since you and Eric are close, Trump, what were you saying about what Trump can’t, what Donald, who is my age, and I can say or cannot say. First of all, I have to honor you, sir. I want to show you what I did to one of your books here. There’s a guy named Jeremy Thorne, who was my boss at the time. I was 19 years old, working at Faith Highway. I had a job at Applebee’s, Target, and DirecTV. And he said, have you read this book, Rich Dad, Poor Dad? And I said, no. And my father, may he rest in peace, he didn’t know these financial principles. So I started reading all of your books and really devouring your books and I went from being an employee to self-employed to the business owner to the investor and I owe a lot of that to you and I just want to take a moment to tell you thank you so much for allowing me to achieve success and I’ll tell you all about Eric Trump. I just want to tell you thank you sir for changing my life. Well not only that Clay, you know thank you but you’ve become an influencer. You know more than anything else you’ve evolved into an influencer where your word has more and more power. So that’s why I congratulate you on becoming. Because as you know, there’s a lot of fake influencers out there, or bad influencers. Anyway, I’m glad you and I agree so much, and thanks for reading my books. That’s the greatest thrill for me today. Not a thrill, but recognition is when people, young men especially, come up and say, I read your book, changed my life, I’m doing this, I’m doing this, I’m doing this. I learned at the Academy, at King’s Point in New York, acta non verba, watch what a person does, not what they say. Whoa! Hey, I’m Ryan Wimpey, I’m originally from Tulsa, born and raised here. I went to a small private liberal arts college and got a degree in business. And I didn’t learn anything like they’re teaching here. I didn’t learn linear workflows, I learned stuff that I’m not using, and I haven’t been using for the last nine years. So what they’re teaching here is actually way better than what I got at business school. And I went what was actually ranked as a very good business school. The linear workflow, the linear workflow for us, and getting everything out on paper and documented is really important. We have workflows that are kind of all over the place, so having linear workflow and seeing that mapped out on multiple different boards is pretty awesome. That’s really helpful for me. The atmosphere here is awesome. I definitely just stared at the walls figuring out how to make my facility look like this place. This place rocks. It’s invigorating. The walls are super…it’s just very cool. The atmosphere is cool, the people are nice, it’s a pretty cool place to be. Very good learning atmosphere. I literally want to model it and steal everything that’s here at this facility and basically create it just on our business side. Once I saw what they were doing, I knew I had to get here at the conference. This is probably the best conference or seminar I’ve ever been to in over 30 years of business. You’re not bored, you’re awake, alive the whole time. It’s not pushy, they don’t try to sell you a bunch of things. I was looking to learn how to just get control of my life, my schedule, and just get control of the business. Planning your time, breaking it all down, making time for the F6 in your life, and just really implementing it and sticking with the program. It’s really lively, they’re pretty friendly, helpful, and very welcoming. I attended a conference a couple months back and it was really the best business conference I’ve ever attended. At the workshop I learned a lot about time management, really prioritizing what’s the most important. The biggest takeaways are you want to take a step-by-step approach to your business, whether it’s marketing, what are those three marketing tools that you want to use, to human resources. Some of the most successful people and successful businesses in this town, their owners were here today because they wanted to know more from Clay and I found that to be kind of fascinating. The most valuable thing that I’ve learned is diligence. That businesses don’t change overnight. It takes time and effort and you got to go through the ups and downs of getting it to where you want to go. He actually gives you the road map out. I was stuck, didn’t know what to do and he gave me the road map out step by step. We’ve set up systems in the business that make my life much easier, allow me some time freedom. Here you can ask any question you want, they guarantee it’ll be answered. This conference like motivates me and also give me a lot of knowledge and tools. It’s up to you to do it. Everybody can do these things. They’re stuff that everybody knows, but if you don’t do it, nobody else can do it for you. I can see the marketing working, and it’s just an approach that makes sense. Probably the most notable thing is just the income increase that we’ve had. Everyone’s super fun and super motivating. I’ve been here before, but I’m back again because it motivates me. Your competition is going to come eventually or try to pick up these tactics. So you better, if you don’t, somebody else will. I’m Rachel with Tip Top K9 and we just want to give a huge thank you to Clay and Vanessa Clark. Hey guys, I’m Ryan with Tip Top K9. Just want to say a big thank you to Thrive 15. Thank you to Make Your Life Epic. We love you guys, we appreciate you and really just appreciate how far you’ve taken us. This is our old house, right? This is where we used to live, two years ago. This is our old neighborhood. See? It’s nice, right? So this is my old van and our old school marketing and this is our old team. And by team, I mean it’s me and another guy. This is our new house with our new neighborhood. This is our new van with our new marketing and this is our new team. We went from four to 14 and I took this beautiful photo. We worked with several different business coaches in the past and they were all about helping Ryan sell better and just teaching sales, which is awesome, but Ryan is a really great salesman. So we didn’t need that. We needed somebody to help us get everything that was in his head out into systems, into manuals and scripts, and actually build a team. So now that we have systems in place, we’ve gone from one to 10 locations in only a year. In October 2016, we grossed 13 grand for the whole month. Right now it’s 2018, the month of October. It’s only the 22nd, we’ve already grossed a little over 50 grand for the whole month, and we still have time to go. We’re just thankful for you, thankful for Thrive and your mentorship, and we’re really thankful that you guys have helped us to grow a business that we run now instead of the business running us. Just thank you, thank you, thank you, times a thousand. So we really just wanna thank you, Clay, and thank you, Vanessa, for everything you’ve done, everything you’ve helped us with. We love you guys. If you decide to not attend the Thrive Time workshop, you’re missing out on a great opportunity. The Atmosphere Play’s office is very lively. You can feel the energy as soon as you walk through the door, and it really got me and my team very excited. If you decide not to come, you’re missing out on an opportunity to grow your business, bottom line. Love the environment. I love the way that Clay presents and teaches. It’s a way that not only allows me to comprehend what’s going on, but he explains it in a way to where it just makes sense. The SEO optimization, branding, marketing, I’ve learned more in the last two days than I have the entire four years of college. The most valuable thing that I’ve learned, marketing is key, marketing is everything. Making sure that you’re branded accurately and clearly. How to grow a business using Google reviews and then just how to optimize our name through our website also. Helpful with a lot of marketing, search engine optimization, helping us really rank high in Google. The biggest thing I needed to learn was how to build my foundation, how to systemize everything and optimize everything, build my SEO. How to become more organized, more efficient. How to make sure the business is really there to serve me as opposed to me constantly being there for the business. New ways of advertising my business as well as recruiting new employees. Group interviews, number one. Before we felt like we were held hostage by our employees. Group interviews has completely eliminated that because you’re able to really find the people that would really be the best fit. Hands on how to hire people, how to deal with human resources, a lot about marketing, and overall just how to structure the business, how it works for me, and also then how that can translate into working better for my clients. The most valuable thing I’ve learned here is time management. I like the one hour of doing your business. It is real critical if I’m going to grow and change. Play really teaches you how to navigate through those things, and not only find freedom, but find your purpose in your business and find the purposes for all those other people that directly affect your business as well. Everybody. Everybody. Everyone. Everyone. Everyone needs to attend the conference because you get an opportunity to see that it’s real.
