Business Coach | Ask Clay & Z Anything

Audio Transcription

The belief that somehow or other government can spend money at nobody’s expense. I don’t know how many of you have ever heard of a wonderful description of government that was made by a French economist by the name of Frédéric Bastiat about 150 years ago. He said, government is that fiction whereby everybody believes that he can live at the expense of everybody else. And that is the free lunch myth, the myth that somehow or other government can provide goods and services, can spend money at nobody’s expense. Now the particular form which that myth takes It has two parts. One part is the belief that somehow or other you can tax business without

consumers or workers or individuals paying for it. Somehow business is a big source, a big cornucopia out there that can be taxed at no cost. And the other way to form the myth takes is that you can create money at no cost. That if you turn the printing press, if you produce those greenbacks, that will enable people to become richer with nobody becoming poorer. Well let me look at first problem. Can you tax business? What’s business? There’s no business to be taxed. There are people, only people can pay taxes.

And now, casting from the center of the universe, and the Thrive50.com world headquarters. Let’s go! Presenting the world’s only business school without the BS, with optometrist and entrepreneur

Dr. Robert Sellner, and the Forest Hall Business Administration Entrepreneur of the Year in

your ear, Clay Clark. It’s the Thrive Time Show on clock radio 1170. Three, two, one, go! Thrive Time Show on Talk Radio 1170.

3, 2, 1, boom.

Boom, boom, boom, and boom. Welcome back inside the Box That Rocks in the Thrive Time headquarters here on the left coast of the beautiful Arkansas River. And today, I am super excited to be talking about a subject called sowing and reaping. Eric Chup, you are a business coach. How excited are you, on a scale of 1 to 10, to be talking about sowing and reaping?

I’m up there all the way at about a 10. I don’t know if it’s the light in the room or your voice in my ear, but I’m super excited to be here with you, man. Well, this is going to be a show where we’re bragging on a lot of clients today.

Both people reach out and they say, hey, I want to know the proven business coach system. They’re looking for kind of like the secret weapon.

The sauce. The secret sauce. But, if you have a… Are you a hunter, by the way?

I am a hunter, yeah, actually.

Okay, so what’s your weapon of choice, and what do you like to hunt?

I mainly like to waterfowl hunt, so I use a 12-gauge shotgun most of the time.

Okay, so you’re out there, and what does that scene look like? Are you out in kind of a remote area? Yeah. Do you go up north? Are you doing this in a swamp area?

Where are you doing this? I like to go around 21st and Peoria, Woodward Park. It’s typically out on a lake somewhere, out on a river somewhere. It’s dark when we go out, wait for the sun to come up. You’re all geared up, got waders, you got a coat and all that because it’s pretty cold

in the winter. So what happens is you’re out there, you’re all ready to go, you’re hunting, and you eventually you load the gun and then you see, what kind of animals are you shooting at here?

Ducks and or geese.

Okay, so you see one fly by and eventually you’ve got to pull that trigger. Pull the trigger, yes. And there are some entrepreneurs that want to know what to do and then as soon as they know what to do, they are just such diligent doers that they have success almost guaranteed just because of the kind of character they have and the kind of actionable, executable mindset that they have.

So I’m going to brag on some of my clients. Perhaps you want to brag on your clients, OK? So here’s the first client I want to brag on. Tip Top K9.

OK, I’ve heard of these guys.

Tip Top K9. They’re dog trainers. And they reached out, and one of their questions was, how do we get to the top of Google? How do we dominate Google? We’re already good at training dogs.

We have great feedback from customers. We’ve been doing this forever. But how do we, as a company, get to the top of Google? Well, once we taught them the system, it wouldn’t work unless they sowed the seeds. They can’t expect to reap a harvest.

I’m Rachel with Tip Top K9, and we just want to give a huge thank you to Clay and Vanessa

Clark. Hey guys, I’m Ryan with Tip Top K9. Just want to say a big thank you to Thrive 15. Thank you to Make Your Life Epic. We love you guys. We appreciate you and really just appreciate how far you’ve taken us.

This is our old house. This is where we used to live a few years ago.

This is our old neighborhood. See?

This is nice, right?

So this is my old van and our old school marketing. And this is our old team.

And by team I mean it’s me and another guy.

This is our new house with our new neighborhood.

This is our new van with our new marketing.

And this is our new team. We went from four to 14. And I took this beautiful photo. We worked with several different business coaches in the past. And they were all about helping Ryan sell better and just teaching sales. Which is awesome, but Ryan is a really great salesman,

so we didn’t need that. We needed somebody to help us get everything that was in his head out into systems, into manuals and scripts, and actually build a team. So now that we have systems in place, we’ve gone from one to 10 locations in only a year.

In October 2016, we grossed 13 grand for the whole month. Right now it’s 2018, the month of October. It’s only the 22nd, we’ve already grossed a little over 50 grand for the whole month, and we still have time to go. We’re just thankful for you, thankful for Thrive

and your mentorship, and we’re really thankful that you guys have helped us to grow a business that we run now instead of the business running us. Just thank you, thank you, thank you, times a thousand.

So we really just wanna thank you, Clay, and thank you, Vanessa, for everything you’ve done, everything you’ve helped us with.

We love you guys.

All right. And now ladies and gentlemen, I’m gonna bring up my good friend, Ryan Wimpy, my good friend, Ryan Wimpy and his dog, Odin. This dog has the ability to eat me. So I’m sort of concerned.

I’ll pass the mic to you and Odin, you can have your own mic if you want, whatever you want, Odin. Okay, I’m a little bit afraid of Odin.

Hi, I’m Ryan Wimpy.

And I’m Rachel Wimpy. And the name of our business is Kip Top Canine.

Our business is a dog training business. We help people with behavioral issues and teach their dog how to listen. When I was learning to become a dog trainer, we didn’t learn anything about internet marketing or advertising or anything at all. Just dog training.

And that’s what’s so great about working with Clay and his team, because they do it all

for us.

So that we can focus on our passion, and that’s training dogs. Clay and his team here, they’re so enthusiastic. Their energy is off the charts. Never a dull moment, spirit thrive.

We’ve been working with Clay and his team for the last five months, two of which have been our biggest months ever. One, our biggest gross by 35%. Clay’s helped us make anything from brochures to stickers, new business cards, new logos, scripts for phones, scripts for emails, scripts for text messages, scripting for everything.

How I would describe the weekly meetings with Clay and his team are awesome. They’re so effective. It’s worth every minute. Things get done. We’ll ask for things like different flyers and they’re done before our hour is up. So it’s just awesome. Extremely effective.

If you don’t use Clay and his team, you’re probably going to be pulling your hair out or you’re going to spend half of your time trying to figure out the online marketing game and producing your own flyers and marketing materials, print materials, all the stuff like that. You’re really losing a lot as far as lost productivity and lost time. Not having a professional do it has a real sense of urgency and actually knows what they’re

doing when you already have something that’s your core focus that you already know how

to do. You would also be missing out with all the time and financial freedom that you would have working with Clay and his team.

We would recommend Clay and his team to other business owners because they need to be working on their business, not just trying to figure out the online game, which is complex and changing daily. So, and no one has a marketing team, too. Most people don’t. They can’t afford one, and their local web guy or local person that they know probably

can’t do everything that a whole team and a whole floor of people can do in hours and not just weeks or months. There’s a definite sense of urgency with Clay and his team. I used to have to ride other web people, I mean really ride them to get stuff done, and stuff is done so fast here. There’s a real sense of urgency to get it done. It’s great.

Hey, I’m Ryan Wimpey. I’m originally from Tulsa, born and raised here. I’ve definitely learned a lot about life design and making sure the business serves you. The goal setting, well it’s not like, it’s somewhat basic stuff, making sure we have different goals for every part of your life is super important. Also the linear workflow, the linear workflow for us and getting everything out on paper and documented is really important. We have workflows that are kind of all over the

place, so having linear workflow and seeing that mapped out on multiple different boards, it’s pretty awesome. That’s really helpful for me. The atmosphere here is awesome. I definitely just stared at the walls figuring out how to make my facility look like this place. This place rocks.

It’s invigorating.

The walls are super, it’s just very cool.

The atmosphere is cool.

The people are nice. It’s a pretty cool place to be. Very good learning atmosphere. I literally want to model it and steal everything that’s here at this facility and basically create it just on our business side.

And so I’m going to go ahead and kind of talk about some other people, because these people actually did the work. These are the people who actually didn’t want to know what to do and then just say, OK, it was great to know that information.

I’m not going to actually execute it. These are actually doers.

So you’re saying they didn’t say, oh, well, why? Well, why do I need to? Why do I have to label things like that for Google or what?

They said to us, what do I need to do? We show them what to do, and they actually did it. So if you turn to page 72 of the Boom Book, this is what they are not doing. They are not doing what’s on page 72 of our Boom Book, which, by the way, is the book that we’ll be leading you

through at our in-person workshop. They are not watching an average of five hours of TV per day. You know, the average American right now, Chep, is watching five hours of TV per day. The average American, five hours.

That seems almost undoable. I don’t quite understand how that’s possible.

Well, somebody doesn’t believe me, so I encourage you to Google search the following title. Google search how much do we love TV. Let us count the ways. It says teens now spend nine hours a day, tweens six hours a day on average consuming media that the report discovers. Also says on average American adults are watching five hours and four minutes of television

per day. Five hours and four minutes. At least they’re not watching for five hours and eight minutes. The bulk of that, about four and a half hours of it, is live television, which is television watched when originally broadcasted. Thirty minutes more comes via DVR.

That’s a lot of time.

That is a lot of time.

And so if the owners of Tip Top K9 had reached out for business coaching and they were willing to make a trade-off of some kind to implement the strategies, they would not have the success. But today, if you Google search Tulsa Dog Training, you’re going to see a company that is blowing up. They are doing great. They are setting all sorts of sales records.

It’s exciting to watch their growth and their success, their profitability, but it wouldn’t happen if they didn’t block out time and delay gratification to execute the proven system. Now here is a thought process for you. Between Dr. Z and I, we have built 13 multi-million dollar companies between the two of us. He’s been involved in a bank, an optometry clinic, we’ve done photography, we’ve done a lot of different businesses. And Chuck, you’re here every day.

Right. So I want to get your feedback. What kind of things do you see us not doing during the day versus maybe the average person? Because you’ve worked with a lot of different organizations. Oh, yeah. You’ve actually run your own company before you became a Thrive business coach.

What kind of activities do you see us not, Dr. Z and myself, not doing during the workday?

The things that really stick out are there’s not much lingering around. No lingering? There’s no lingering, there’s no just kind of walking around checking how everybody’s doing. You get more into not lingering, what does that mean? So they’re like, well one thing I’ve heard you talk about and like when Justin and Elephant in the Room started working with you is like you walk with a purpose. We got things to do, places to be, so there’s no just kind of standing

around feet dragging. It’s let’s get to where we’re going, let’s talk about what we need to talk about, and then let’s move on to the next thing. And one thing that I’ve learned from you especially is like carrying around a clipboard with a to-do list.

Oh, it helps so much.

Oh, like you can’t get distracted. It’s right there in your hand the whole time. So you’re not pulling out your phone, you’re not getting into conversations. You just keep your mind focused on that to-do list and you don’t linger.

You don’t wanna linger.

Now, you as a business coach, and when you get up every day and you start your day, I know you’re a part of this culture, so you see it, but all of us have a to-do list every day we start the day with. And in there we identify our biggest limiting factors. These are action items for you if you’re listening right now. This is how you get stuff done.

What you want to do every morning is get up and you want to think about your life and you contrast it from where you are to where you want to be in the F6 areas as we often talk about. In the areas of faith, finances, fitness, friendship, fun. Think about these areas and ask yourself, where do I want to be versus where am I?

And you want to write down on your to-do list the small action steps that you can take today to get closer to that distant goal. You want to set smart goals. These are goals that are specific, they’re measurable, they’re actionable, these are things that are realistic, you can actually do them, right? And they’re timely.

You have a specific time on them. So I want to ask you this here, Chuck. You had a dream a while back to put in hardwood floors,

I believe.

That is true.

Do you still live at this place where you put in the hardwoods?

Every day.

OK. So you had a vision to put in hardwood floors. And what kind of hardwood floors did you have in mind? And when did you first have the idea,

I should put in hardwood floors. I didn’t so much have that idea as my wife She had this idea so we had it at about the time We decided to buy the house that we remodeled and we went with an 8 inch wide pine plank Wow, and so yeah, I learned how to install wood floors now

What are all the things you had to gather to put in the floors? I mean, let’s think of all the things I know I know it’s kind of off-the-cuff here But think about all the things you had to gather so first I had to watch this a lot of YouTube videos to tell me what I needed to gather. I decided to watch some how-to’s

and all this stuff and I had to go out and buy the wood. You got to buy the wood.

You got to buy the wood.

Then you got to buy the wood, the plywood that goes underneath it.

Got it.

Then you got to buy the glue to glue the plywood down. You got to make sure it’s also water, it’s not water permeable, right? You got to buy the right glue. So you got to know all that. You got to buy a floor nailer. You got to buy the nails for the gun. You got to buy the mallet to hit the floor nailer and it just kind of goes from there.

There’s a lot of stuff you have to do to get the floor installed, but because you’re a proactive person of purpose, you actually sat down and made a list of all the things you need to get done. Right. But yet, I know as a young entrepreneur, a lot of times I knew I needed to do something, but I didn’t have the ability to kind of break down the big goal into small action items.

Where you feel kind of paralyzed by like, oh my God, what do I start? So many options. And I think a lot of people, though, have big aspirations and big goals, whether it to be to put in a wood floor or to start a business or grow a business.

And specifically, I think one of the big values of having a business coach, one of the big areas of value we bring to the coaching client is that we know all of the small steps. So think about when you put in the wood floor. What were some of the things, you’ve never done it before, where you said,

man, if I could do that over again, I would not have done this. Or that would have been helpful to know when I started. Is there anything like that you can kind of think of about with the wood floor process where you think to yourself,

man, I wish I would have known that going into it. One in specifically would have been, like if I would have asked for some advice from somebody that had done this, I would have known where I should have started instead of starting on the wrong wall and then having to like rip a board down to a weird size on this side of the room. So just having somebody to tell me what I should have done when I

got started would have been super helpful. So if you are listening right now and you feel paralyzed by not knowing what to do, as an example, to get to the top of Google, we can break that down for you and that’s what we did with the Tip Top Canine folks. And it’s not that we’re geniuses and it’s not that we’re even teaching them how to train dogs. We just had to show them the proven system to get to the top of Google.

And if that is something that you want to learn to do, if you want to learn how to get to the top of Google, then what you have to do is you need to specifically block off some time. Block off some specific times in your schedule to learn this skill set. Now we have a workshop that’s coming up here in September. And Eric, for anybody who’s not been to one of the workshops

before, how would you describe it? Because I mean, you’ve obviously attended them, you’ve participated in them, you’ve listened to a lot of the feedback from the attendees. How would you describe the Thrive Time two day intensive business workshop?

So the cool thing about it is we up here at Thrive, we operate on action bias. We don’t need to talk about emotions all day. We want to talk about things you can get done that are needle movers. And so the entire conference, both days, Friday and Saturday, are all designed around things you can actually implement into your business on Monday when you get home. There’s steps we’re going to give you, things

we’re going to lay out in front of you that are, it’s not a pat on the back or yeah, you’ve got the right mindset type of thing. It’s things you can actually do that are going

to move the needle for you in your business. So if you’re listening right now, I’m going to make a list of all the things you’re going to need to adjust if you do want to get to the top of Google. And then when you come to our workshop, we can actually show you how to do that. OK? So what we’re going to do is I want everybody to get a sheet of paper or a pen or an Etch-A-Sketch

or some kind of writing device because you want to write this down here. It’s tough to remember all these details. In fact, I think the complexity of this idea can be overwhelming if you don’t get something to write this down with. So the first thing you want to do is you want to make sure your website is built on a WordPress chassis or a WordPress system. It has to be built on the

WordPress language. You might say, what’s WordPress? It’s the website format of choice that Google loves. It’s the best out of the box, search engine friendly website layout. So just make sure your site is built on WordPress. Move number two is you want to adjust your title tags to be optimized. You say, what’s a title tag? It’s the little part of your website that is in the top left.

You can see it if you right click on any website and you click view source, you can see the title tag. Then you want to update the description, okay, the meta description, which you can see by right clicking. There you can see that. And some of you are going, I don’t know what you’re talking about.

Then you need to update your keywords. Then what you need to do is, there’s a lot of things to do. We actually have a very specific checklist of all of the things you need to do to optimize your website as well as to not only optimize the website but to increase conversion. Once people go to the website, it doesn’t matter if they don’t actually fill out the form or they don’t contact you. Here’s the challenge right now. If you’re listening right now and you are a diligent doer and you just want to be shown

the proven path, I encourage you to email us right now, info at thrive15.com, info at thrive15.com, and we will run a complete diagnostic test on your website to show you all of the errors and issues with your website. However, I need you to put your phone number and your email in there so we can reach out to you and walk you through how this works. Just email us info at thrive15 and we can help you. When we come back we’re going to talk more about the law of reaping and sowing

on the truck, babe boy now I’m all grown up Yeah, we used to ball like that Now we on the ball team, holla back Now I got black cards, good credit and such Babe boy, just more grown up

Get ready to enter the Thrivetime Show

I want to especially dedicate this song To anybody who’s ever worked at a Quick Trip convenience store Anybody who’s ever worked a 24-hour shift Anybody who has ever worked on a holiday We thank you for making Tulsa a great place to live. Quick Trip, we salute you.

Hi!

So every single time I pump my gas, no hesitation, my decision is fast. I go to the gas station Taj Mahal, a place where you can truly have it all. You can have a burrito, a bottom taquito, bathroom so clean they can boost your ego. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. There are people there who know how to work. Their entire workflow blows my mind.

I want to pay them just so that I can pay them all the time. And 918 is great for two reasons, Quick Trip itself and Quick Trip reasons. It’s like he just said the same thing twice, but he just won it so he could get away with it.

You know, Chuck, there’s just not enough songs on the radio

today supporting and showing love to Quick Trip. There’s not enough songs on the radio supporting our… I mean, how much do you love Quick Trip?

I mean, so much that I spend money there multiple times a day.

When you go to Oklahoma City, is it not a quality of life issue? I mean, does it not take the room down when you go to a city and you know there is no Quick Trip? I just chose not to go to those cities. I boycott. Unbelievable. So you plan your vacation. You’re like, well, I guess we could go to Des Moines. There’s a quick trip there.

We pull up the quick trip locations map and we draw it out and print it out and that’s how we do our vacations.

Now, Thrive Nation, we’re talking today about sowing and reaping and this concept of specifically sowing seeds into your business that will produce fruit for you later. And so we’re going from page 74 of the boom book. And if you’ve attended a workshop, turn with us now to page 74. And if you haven’t, then just mentally pretend you’re turning the page. Go ahead, I’ll give you a second.

Okay, good. Okay. So this is a notable quotable from Jeff Hoffman and David Finkel. These are the authors of the bestselling book, Scale, and the former CEO of Priceline. He says, a level two business is a business that works, but only because you, the business owner, are there every day to make it work.

You make most of the decisions. You generate most of the business. You meet all the key clients and perform most of the important work of the business The painful reality is that most level-2 business owners get caught in the self-employment trap They’re so busy doing the job of their business that they can’t step back and focus on growing their business What’s more because of the way they are building the business the more success they have the more trapped they become inside of

Their company now this right here is tough. It’s tough because when you’re in business, it’s easy to say, oh, you know, you should work on your business and not in your business. I mean, that’s the move. You want to spend your time working on the business, not in

the business.

What are you doing in the business? And this is how I used to perceive it as a young whippersnapper entrepreneur. I remember these people would come and speak and you’d hear these comments and I’m like, yeah, you have no idea what you’re talking about, Broster Damas, because I am dealing with some stuff that you couldn’t possibly relate to

because I’m in a startup, I’m growing it myself, it’s tough. Well, Ben Horowitz wrote a book back in the day. He’s the guy who started Opsware, which sold to Hewlett Packard for $1.6 billion in July of 2007. He says this, he says

Every time I read a management or self-help book I find myself saying that’s fine But that wasn’t the really the hard thing about the situation the hard thing isn’t setting up a big hairy Audacious goal the hard thing is laying people off when you miss the goal the hard thing isn’t hiring great people The hard thing is when those great people develop a sense of entitlement and start demanding unreasonable things The hard thing isn’t setting up an organizational chart. The hard thing is getting people to communicate within the organizational chart that you just

designed. The hard thing isn’t dreaming big. The hard thing is waking up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat when the dream has turned into a nightmare. Oh, not a very positive thing there, Ben Horowitz. Chuck, you work with a lot of clients.

We’re bragging on the clients. We’re bragging on the clients today that are really implementing, executing, and creating that success. Where are your clients finding the time to work on their business? How are they doing it? When are they doing it?

Walk me through. How is it possible?

Yeah.

So it can be different for everybody, right? You guys tell you and Z talk about it all the time. Another nighttime thing to the morning. Whatever that meta time is, I’ll brag on the hub gym. We’ll brag on the hub gym.

The hub gym.

He was having it at that exact same spot. I can’t get out of the business. I can’t work on anything. I can’t stop and systemize and do this. So he pretty much fired all of his staff. We got a group interview process going.

He replaced them all with a merit-based pay system, with checklist-driven systems, and now it’s all kind of smooth and operating. They’re hitting their sales goals, and so now he actually has the time in the mornings

to set up that meta-time and on his schedule, and he works on these things. So Thrivers, if you’re listening right now and you feel like your business is kind of stuck, you’re not getting to where you want to go. The chances are you’re in that reactive phase where you’re basically reacting to business and you’re not proactively planning and designing your day. And that’s what we’re talking about today is how do you proactively build a business that serves you. That’s the big question. Let me give you the

first move. This is the first move. We’re going to go through all the moves today. We’re going to walk you through six specific moves. But move number one is you have to understand that inspiration is the reward and inaction is the giant. Action is your sword. I’m going to repeat it again. It says inspiration is the reward, inaction is the giant, and action is the sword.

So as an example, cold calling versus waiting for your phone to ring. Chuck, Eric Chuck, business coach, you’ve obviously been self-employed, you’ve helped companies build successful businesses by being a business coach and advising them. Talk to me about the dangers of being self-employed and choosing to wait for the phone to ring as opposed to cold calling because you’re waiting for inspiration.

Yeah, that’s a very, very dangerous thing because you will be hungry soon, very soon. That phone is not just going to ring. People are not pining every day to wake up and call you and buy your products or services. So you’ve got to have that action. You’ve got to wake up with that burning desire to move forward with that action.

Now you’ve seen clients that are now at page one of Google, right? You’ve seen how it’s totally changed their lives, getting leads in every day, inbound leads from their ideal and likely buyers. However, you’ve also seen clients that are on page seven of Google and who feel probably not super motivated to write the content or to record the podcast that we need to transcribe to get them to the top of Google.

Can you maybe explain the mindset that you’ve seen of a successful entrepreneur who’s more of the kind of person who’s going to sit down and grind and record the podcast versus the person who doesn’t feel motivated because they’re on page seven of Google.

Yeah, it’s not a waiting game. It’s kind of like we were just talking about with the phone ringing. You’ve got to be proactive. You’ve got to have that time blocked out in your day to create that content or it’s never going to happen. Your website will be contentless.

Is that a word?

Contentless, nice.

You will not have content on your website and you will stay on page seven. So that mindset has to be that daily entrepreneurial mindset of just wake up and grind. Block out that time in your schedule.

It’s a rock in your schedule that daily I have to create content for that website. Now Conrad Hilton, this is the guy who started the Hilton Hotel chain. If you read his book, by the way, it’s a phenomenal autobiography. He says success seems to be connected with action. Successful people keep moving. They make mistakes, but they don’t quit.

And I would just encourage you today, if you’re dealing with some rejections or some setbacks or page seven of Google Or you don’t have enough inbound leads. You’ve got to take the action. So ask yourself today What are the action steps that you can take today? To design the life that you want to live do not wait about by default Nothing is going to happen on a positive level for your business. You have to be intentional about designing your day and ordaining your destiny. And one thing you can do today is you can go to

Thrivetimeshow.com and book your tickets for our next in-person workshop. It’s a game-changer. Get your tickets at Thrivetimeshow.com

Alright, Thrive Nation, welcome back to the conversation. It is the Thrive Time Show on your radio, and today we’re talking about sowing and reaping,

and specifically how to create the momentum that you need in your business to become a

successful entrepreneur.

Now principle number two, by the way, if you missed that on principle number one, it’s inspiration is the reward and action is the giant, but action is your sword. Now principle number two is emotionally disengage with your long-term, or sorry, emotionally engage with your long-term goals. So emotionally engage with your long-term goals and disengage from the emotions of your short-term setbacks.

Now, Eric Chupp, I’m going to read you a notable quotable from a guy by the name of Ben Horowitz. Now, Ben Horowitz is a guy who has built a company called Opsware that he sold to Hewlett Packard for $1.6 billion. So I’m going to read you the notable quotable.

I want to hear it.

And then I want to have you break it down for us. And then I’m going to play actual audio from a real thriver and a client that you’ve been coaching who’s a chiropractor in the, is he in Nashville, Dr. Jay, is he in Nashville?

Franklin, yeah, south of Nashville. Franklin and Murfreesboro.

Okay, so I’m going to read this notable quotable and I would like for you to kind of break this down for us and then we’re going to play a little audio from one of your clients and we’re going to have you break that down as well. So you’re just breaking it down.

I’m the breakdowner.

Let’s do it. So here we go. The notable quotable is, every time I read a management or self-help book, I find myself saying, that’s fine, but that wasn’t really the hard thing about the situation. The hard thing isn’t setting a big, hairy, audacious goal.

The hard thing is laying people off when you miss the goal. The hard thing isn’t hiring great people. The hard thing is when those great people develop a sense of entitlement and start demanding unreasonable things.

The hard thing isn’t setting up an organizational chart. The hard thing is getting people to communicate within the organization that you have just designed. The hard thing is dreaming big. The hard thing is waking up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat when the dream turns in

to a nightmare. That’s Ben Horowitz, the founder of Opsware, which is sold for 1.6 billion dollars of cash in July of 2007. So Eric, you’ve coached a lot of clients. Walk me through the hard thing about executing, because a lot of people will come to our workshop and we’re going to teach them specifically the proven systems they need to do.

Let’s say in the area of sales, we’re going to teach them specifically the systems that Dr. Zeller and I have used to build 13 multi-million dollar companies, but then they have to go out there and execute it. And as a coach, you help them execute that. Walk me through the hard thing about executing a lot of these systems. You’ve dealt with a lot of clients. What’s the hard thing?

So the hard thing, like Ben Horowitz was saying here, is that these short-term roadblocks, these burning fires that happen every day as a business owner, as an entrepreneur, they’re going to pop up. And you have to train your mind to be aware that they’re going to happen and know how to put them off to the side and keep focused on that long-term goal. I was working with a client who was having a hard time with this.

He was having a hard time with pushing this stuff down. He had to fire a guy. I just felt bad. He was with me for a long time, and so I was searching, trying to come up with a good metaphor, a way to explain to him. And what I told him was, I don’t want to get X-rated here, but I said, hey, every morning

in the shower, when you go to take a shower, just wash all that short-term stuff off, watch it go down the drain. Literally with your eyeballs, stare at the drain, vision that that’s those short-term negatives, setbacks, all those things, and then you’re just clean and ready to hit your day running. And that was helpful, really helpful to him.

I’m going to give you two examples, Thrivers, and just kind of edifying and definitely trying to coach you up and also agreeing 100% with what Eric just said. Does it involve being in the shower at all? No, no shower references, but here is kind of the deal. Just the other day, we had a key member of our team who says, hey, just so you know,

I want to be honest with you, I’m gonna put in my notice. He tells a member of our team, I’m gonna put in my notice. Well, that really is frustrating when you’re building something

and you get blindsided with that, if you give it power, if you dwell on it, if you obsess about it. So instead I have to just emotionally like chunk it to the side and move on. We had a great person that we interviewed who I thought would be a great fit, but we didn’t have a place for her at the time.

Right.

And so we just put in the next, it’s like next up. It’s just what you do. I’m sure it’s like being a professional football coach. Your top guys always get hurt and it’s just part of the game. And so anyway, long story short, we had an opportunity to give somebody else an opportunity that would not have had a job if this person hadn’t have quit.

And so those are the kind of things I deal with on a daily basis. And I just encourage you as an entrepreneur, you’ve got to somehow get to a place where these short-term setbacks don’t overwhelm you. And the only tip I can give you is emotionally. You have to emotionally engage with your long-term goals. You have to really lock in and get excited about your long-term goals.

You have to think about your long-term goals, obsess about those goals, because in the short term, there’s a lot of crazy stuff that happens on a daily basis. If you’ve been self-employed for any amount of time at all, you know what I’m talking about. We have written a book for you to help you learn all of the systems that Dr. Zellner and I have created. And you can get that book.

It’s called the Start Here book. You can get the actual systems that Dr. Z and I have each used to build 13 multi-million dollar companies. It’s available for you right now for download. If you need that encouragement, it’s there for you. All you got to do is go to ThriveTimeShow.com, ThriveTimeShow.com, and just download the

book. It’s 100% free. I also encourage you to reach out to find a coach that can help you. Now we’re working with a Thriver who attended a workshop out there in Tennessee. He’s from Tennessee and he flew into Tulsa to attend a workshop. And we’re going to play a little audio of his experience so far with Eric Chupp as his

personal business coach. This is Dr. Jay Schrader based there in Tennessee. So without any further ado, here we go.

Hey, I just wanted to take a minute to talk about Thrive15 and what they’ve done for me. My experience with them started with a weekend seminar. I was just kind of feeling stuck and just needed something to light my creative juices. And a friend of mine recommended I go check them out,

and I did. And certainly nothing short of amazing, not just that weekend seminar as far as what it did for me. But based on that, I wanted to learn more about what they could do to help me. And there’s no doubt, without their help, I don’t know if I would have got where I want to go and even to the point where I am now. If you are someone who’s looking to start a business or expand your current business, I highly recommend you give these guys a look as they will

at least give you an idea of what it’s going to take to get you from where you are now to where you want to go in the future. I’m a guy with big vision and I just didn’t quite know how to get from point A to point B and they certainly helped me get to that point down the road. If you look at this board behind you, this is all stuff that they’ve made me think about, if you will. So, yeah, give them a look. I think it will be well worth your time.

Chuck, why has it been such a pleasure to work with Dr. J?

Dr. J is what we like to call a doer. Dr. J wants to know a path. I help him lay it out and lay out his plan for execution. He executes. He gets stuff done. So he’s implemented merit-based pay.

He’s in love with the group hiring system because now when people quit or get that sense of entitlement like you were just talking about, he has a replacement ready to go.

Thrivers, if you want to know the proven path because you are a diligent doer, go to Thrivetimeshow.com and book your tickets for our September conference. Make this a September to remember. You will not regret it. Check it out at Thrivetimeshow.com.

It’s business school without the BS. Welcome to the Thrive Time Show on Talk Radio 1170.

I feel it coming. I feel it coming, baby.

I feel it coming. I feel it coming, baby. I feel it coming. I feel it coming, baby. I feel it coming. I feel it coming, baby.

I feel it coming, baby. All right, Thrive Nation, welcome back to the conversation.

I feel it coming, baby. there are hundreds of thousands of downloads happening as a result of you going to thrive timeshow.com and sharing it with friends. And this is the whole reason why we do this show is we want to help you get to where you want to go financially. And so today we’re talking about a topic that near and near to my heart, a topic that I’m excited about. It’s called the law of

sowing and reefing. Okay? And we’re talking about the specific steps to ignite momentum in your business, career, and in your life. So step number one, you have to understand that inspiration is the reward. Inaction is the giant, and action is your sword. If you’re sitting around waiting for inspiration

to take action, if you’re on page seven of Google and you’re waiting to get to the top, if you’re waiting for the phone to ring instead of cold calling, if you’re waiting for venture capital to call you, if you’re waiting for the time to be just right,

then you are never going to get started. You’ve got to be the catalyst. Step number two, you have to emotionally engage with your long-term goals and disengage from the short-term emotions and setbacks. It is so important that you do that. If you want to stay happily married, if you want to raise kids, if you want to start a business, you can’t be emotionally reactive where every up or down throws you into a tailspin or to a nuclear level of excitement. You just have to be able, I’m not advocating outright stoicism, but you’ve got to find

a way to deal with the inevitable setbacks that are going to happen. I mean, just today I had a big, big call. I was doing a call, I had it set up for today, and it’s a no-show on the call. I’m not going to lament about it and talk about it all week, but it’s a frustrating thing when you block out time in your schedule and you commit to a time and then there’s a no-show. It doesn’t feel very good. No one feels good about somebody who says they’re going to move forward as a new client and they don’t. No

one feels good when someone says they’re going to invest in your company and they don’t, but you’ve got to maintain an attitude of action, an action bias, a solution focused mindset. You can’t be talking about all the problems in the past, you gotta focus on the future and the solution. So Conrad Hilton, the founder of Hilton, he once wrote, success seems to be connected with action.

Successful people keep moving. They make mistakes but they don’t quit. So I’m asking you, are you gonna quit or are you gonna step up to the plate and take another swing? And I know some people say, no one plays baseball anymore. Why don’t you give us a soccer analogy?

Because I only played soccer for a couple of years and I was pretty terrible. I don’t know a whole lot about the sport, but I do know that Pele was kind of a big deal. So we move on to action number three. You got to create momentum in the business. You must be a catalyst.

Again, to create momentum in the business, you must be a catalyst. I’m going to read a notable quotable to you, and then I’m going to have Eric Chupp, one of our business coaches, break it down for you, like linoleum on an old-school 1980s floor. Your father came home from a tough day at work. He’s wearing his corduroys, and you’ve got that 1980s music playing, and you’ve got that

linoleum there, and then you just hit the play button on that dual cassette boom box. That’s how much he’s going to break it down. It’s going to be sick. You’re like, why would you break it down when your dad came home? Anyway, so here’s another book, it says, you are entitled to know that two entities occupy your body.

One of these entities is motivated by and responds to the impulse of fear. The other is motivated by and responds to the impulse of faith. Will you be guided by faith or will you allow fear to overtake you? This is Napoleon Hill remember the best-selling author who was the coach of oral Roberts the late oral Roberts who started oral Roberts University? He was the personal apprentice of Andrew Carnegie once again He writes Napoleon Hill says you are entitled to know that two entities occupy your body

One of these entities is motivated by and responds to the impulse of fear. The other is motivated by and responds to the impulse of faith. Will you be guided by faith or will you allow fear to overtake you? Eric, Chuck, you’ve seen a lot of clients have a lot of success. Walk me through the fear mindset versus the faith mindset. Walk me through what that looks like with the actual business owners that you’ve coached

over the years. Yeah. You know, that fear mindset, that’s a mindset of reactionary thinking. Everything is done to me. I can’t get ahead. I don’t have enough time.

Or coming from that place of a scarcity mindset. Well, there’s just not enough business out there for me to land the deal. And no, I didn’t make any calls today, but I’m not going to get the deal anyway.

You didn’t make any cold calls today, but the phone didn’t ring and I was too busy to make the calls. Exactly. And then, specifically tying it back into the Business Coach program is the fact that that faith mindset we know the path, we can show you the path, that’s why you signed up to work with us.

You have faith in the systems, you get up, you be diligent, you be forward thinking and proactive and you will see those results instead of kind of succumbing to that fear like Napoleon Hill was saying, let that fear overtake you. If you’re somebody who is dominated by fear, you typically will not have any breakthroughs until after your breakdown.

Oh yeah.

So you’ll typically wait until after the breakdown to have the breakthrough. Now there are people out there, and I know our listeners are the majority of this kind of person. I know if you’re listening to this show, you’re a proactive person, you’re an intentional person, you’re ordaining your destiny. You understand that Jack Welch, one of the top CEOs of all time, was 100% right when

he said, ordain your destiny or somebody else will. Again, he said control your destiny or somebody else will. And if you’re somebody who’s proactive and you just have this bottled up energy, you’re not quite sure what to do with it or what the next action step is, I encourage you to go to thrivetimeshow.com and to book your tickets for our next in-person,

two-day intensive business workshop. If you’ve never been to one, it’s a game changer. We take 15 hours to teach you everything you need to know to start or grow a successful company. It’s all of the moves, the 13 moves, that Dr. Zellner and I have used and created

to build 13 multi-million dollar businesses. But don’t take our word for it. And so we have a little audio, a highlight from one of our Thrivers who attended the conference, who was generous enough to share with us his feedback about attending the last

Thrive Time Show dot com workshop.

My name is Rockwell Ryan Ripperger and I’m originally from Dunedin, Florida. I moved to Tulsa when I was very young. I heard about the Thrive 15 conference from my new business partner in a recent business I acquired. When I first heard of the Thrive 15 conference, I didn’t exactly think it was a scam, but I didn’t think I would learn anything that I didn’t already know.

So far, I have learned more about marketing than I ever did in college when I studied it, than I ever have from all the books I’ve read. I would say it has been the most informative two days of business teaching of my entire life. And I would describe the Thrive 15 headquarters

as a very cool, modern place, the way it’s organized, and it’s diligently put together with purpose, and immediately made me feel like these people actually have purpose and get things done. And Clay’s teaching style was, for me, perfect. I love numbers, I love examples, I love specifics.

He’s not trying to reinvent the wheel over here. He’s got proven ways that have, you know, these things work since man made business and they were trading saber tooth tiger teeth and fur. You know, I mean, since the beginning of business, these have worked. And the way he presents it makes it easy to understand, he speaks clear and passionately with a lot of energy and he’s motivational, I mean literally, he makes me wanna

get up earlier and work harder. People who have never been to a Thrive15 conference, I mean I’ve spent a lot of good information and motivation, I mean when you come in and you’re around a group of people you know, a whole room full of people in all these different businesses that have the same goal as you, is

to be successful and make money, and are positive thinkers that have specific goals. It’s inspiring and encouraging, rather than, you know, in a daily life, you’re around so many people that discourage you and tell you you can’t do it.

Being in an environment like this, where you meet people who can do it, tell you you can do it, and they have done it, and it’s incredibly inspiring, and makes me want to go out there and work even harder. I have never been to a conference in the past,

because I felt like I was going to be upsold. Anyone that I think is going to try to tell me it’s only a timeshare at the end of the day, I avoid them. I never really got the impression that this, before I even came here I studied it a bit, I never got the impression that was going to happen here. It certainly didn’t. Everything I got here is useful, valuable information. If anything, I want to be upsold now because I want more of this.

Oh, I mean, business college, you’re paying for classes in the university history that you don’t care about is not going to help you with your business. This is dirt cheap for really good information. I mean, it’s not worth it for the coffee and the nice chair I got to sit in. I would suggest anyone that wants to be successful in business or even more successful in business

comes here. I was successful in the music industry before I started this business, and I wish now I had gone back and I knew this stuff then. If I would, I would have been even more successful in the music industry than I was when I was doing it. Everyone should do this.

You heard it here, Thrivers. He thinks you should attend, I think you should attend. Go to Thrivetimeshow.com and book your tickets for the next in-person workshop today.

So remember when we were driving, driving in your car, speaking so fast it felt like like I was drunk, city lights swayed out before and your arms were wrapped right around my shoulder and I, I had a feeling that I’m alone and I, I had a feeling I could be someone,

someone, be someone.

Live, local, broadcasting from the center of the universe,

it’s the Thrive Time Show!

Do you feel good tonight?

Do you feel good tonight? One time. All right, Thrive Nation, welcome back into the conversation. It is the Thrive Time Show on your radio, and today we are specifically talking about

sowing and reaping.

You’ve got to sow the seeds before you can reap a harvest if you’re a farmer or if you are in the game of business. You just have to do it. And so we’re talking about today the specific moves that will help activate in your life the law of reciprocity, which means that you’ve done something,

you’ve sown the seed, therefore you can expect to reap a harvest. And so move number four is you want to over deliver consistently to ignite the law of reciprocity. So as an example, you would want to invite somebody to your birthday if you wanted people

to invite you to your birthday. You know, my daughter attended Metro Christian School there for a while, and when she did, she was the new kid because we had never gone to Metro Christian. They did, by the way, Metro Christian’s a great school. They were a great private school for Havana to go to.

And when she went there, we didn’t know anybody. And so what we did is we invited everybody to things, to events. And then as a kind of a deal, no one has invited you, but you’re inviting them. Then as a way to reciprocate, other kids, other parents, they started inviting my daughter to things. And then pretty soon, Eric, I found that I had a basically a birthday party to go to

every weekend. No way. There’s like 25 kids in the class and there’s only 52 weeks in the year so like every other week there’s a birthday party of some kind. Right. But I think a lot of entrepreneurs what happens is that you don’t want to invite anybody to the birthday first.

You’re just frustrated that nobody’s inviting you to their birthday. You don’t want to throw the ball to somebody else first and wait for them to throw it back. You’re just frustrated no one’s throwing you the ball. You don’t want to throw the boomerang out and wait for it to come back, you just want to be frustrated

that the boomerang’s not flying, coming in hot. And so the question is today, is are you willing to implement this action item? So I’m going to read you this notable quotable from the late great success, from the late great success author, Napoleon Hill.

I’m going to read this to you here, Chuck, but if you can kind of break it down on a practical level about how anybody listening to this can actually execute or implement this concept of over-delivery. Napoleon Hill once wrote, he says, deliver more and better service than you are paid for and soon you will be overpaid. As a business coach, working with business owners both large and small, what is on a

practical level, can you think of an example with one of your clients or think of an example from a business you’ve worked with in the past where they have been able to put into their system a game plan for over delivering that has turned into maybe extra word-of-mouth or extra business as a result of them going the extra mile and consistently putting that

over delivery into their workflow. Yeah, absolutely. We were talking about bragging on some clients earlier, so I’ll brag on Guy Shepard over in Edmond, Shepard Automotive. Oh yeah. So we would we had out hey we’re gonna go try to find some fleets right he needs some fleets to take care of and maintain and so we decided hey cool we’re gonna go out to Dream 100 and we’re gonna offer one dial one dollar oil change for your fleet trucks and then not only that’s

over-delivered we’re actually gonna come get it we’re gonna come get it from your place of business and we’re gonna take it to our shop and when we’re done we’re

gonna bring it back. So he wanted to earn the business. He is an automotive maintenance company. He wanted to earn the business of big commercial fleets. And so he went out there and offered to change the oil for a dollar. And he also offered to pick it up first.

Pick it up and take it back to them just as a little gesture of, hey, we want to show you that we’re the best out there and we like to over deliver. And like you said, that’s leading to that law of reciprocity.

People are using their service more after they’ve seen how good a job they can do. Now Thrive Nation, these are all very practical action steps that you can take and I encourage you, I want to just ask you rhetorically, what is a way that you could over deliver if you have a job? How could you over deliver to your boss? If you have a company, how could you over deliver to your customers? What is something that you could do to exceed their expectations? That is a huge question to ask and I will tell you at our workshops we invest a lot of time and preparation thinking about how can we

exceed the expectations of our workshop attendees. Our goal is that you will leave the Thrivetimeshow.com workshops empowered, amazed, excited. That’s what we’re looking for. We want to help you get to where you want to go. Recently, at one of our workshops, we had a wonderful lady who attended who shared with us on camera her experience of attending the workshop.

And I think you’re going to hear in her voice what the law of reciprocity sounds like. When you exceed someone’s expectations, they almost feel a need cathartically to share it with somebody else. And so I encourage you to listen to these kind statements from a great thriver out there just like you. And go to thrivetimeshow.com and book your tickets for the next in-person workshop.

It’s going to be an absolute game changer. I’m Lori Crowe. I’m from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and I’m thinking about doing my own business promotions, marketing, advertising for companies. I heard about Thrive, one, by Googling online, and then,

two, the radio show, and then I’ve been an avid listener ever since. I’ve learned a ton. I’ve learned about setting your own schedule and making sure that the business is going to serve you first.

I’ve learned about the accounting part, the SEO optimization, branding, marketing. I’ve learned more in the last two days than I have the entire four years of college. The environment is awesome. It’s totally creative. If you’re into just thinking and being open, it’s inspiring. Everyone here is friendly.

Everyone goes above and beyond. It’s just service-oriented and it’s also creative and it just gives you a chance to seek and I think be more, dream more and believe more. You have to come out and see it. It’s worth the trip and also I just think you owe it to yourself. You’re going to be in business for yourself.

You need to come here. This is the school to come to. Clay’s presentation and speaking style is honest, forthright and he is hilarious. So it’s a comedy show mixed in with nuggets of truth and actually really, really good advice, common sense and actually nuggets of good advice. It’s very interactive. He asks you questions. You get to answer questions. It’s set up just

as a group and there’s no right or wrong answer. It’s just being real and really getting to the nitty-gritty of it. I think they’re missing everything. I think if anyone’s struggling to start a business or they’re going to have their business or you have any problems, you’re missing it because you’re not going to find the answers online on tutorials or Instagram ads or videos. You have to come and actually just immerse yourself in a school such as this from beginning steps

1 all the way through 14. You have to immerse yourself. It’s completely different because at the very end, actually starting the middle to the end, I was asking what more can I buy? What more can I get into? What do you have books? Do you have classes? What else can I take? So it was actually reversed. It left me wanting more and not feeling like I’m being, you know, scuttled to the back of a room to sign up now and that urgent, urgent pressure that everyone hates.

I think everyone should check it out. It is one of the best things. I’m going to be a walking billboard for them because I just, everybody needs this. Everyone tells you how to start a business, but nobody’s really giving you the practical steps to do it and this does it.

Now Lori is a workshop attendee in full disclosure. Now a lot of people will come to our workshops and a lot of our current clients will come to our workshop, people that we’ve actually helped to grow their business. And one young man is based in the Dallas, Texas area, and we’ve been able to help him along with his lone team member to grow the business to the point where they’re generating over $10,000 a week on average of gross revenue.

From startup to $10,000 a week, this is something that he’s actually doing. I want to play for you the audio sample of the audio testimonial of what Thomas and his company Full Package Media have been able to do within the past year having gone through our coaching program. Thomas Edison wrote that vision without execution is hallucination. He wrote that vision without execution is hallucination.

And this is a guy who’s not hallucinating. He’s getting it done. And I think his success is remarkable, but it’s also doable. It’s attainable. It’s not a nebulous thing that you can’t achieve. And so I want you to listen to what he’s saying to you.

Listen to how he’s saying it. I mean, he’s a pretty direct, straightforward guy. He’s going to give you a very specific example of what the Thrive Time Show Business Coach Program has done for him. I think when you hear it, you’re going to realize, you know what? I can do this.

This is something I can do. This is my year to thrive. We can’t help you if we don’t get to hear from you and if we don’t get a chance to talk to you. I encourage you to go to thrivetimeshow.com as you’re listening to Thomas’ story and to download your free copy of the start here book

and on tom’s cross and uh… founder of full package media and i was texas uh… i’ve been a coaching client with clay park since the beginning of our business uh… we started out a year ago august of last year

and no clients no idea what we’re doing no clue uh… really what was going on and now we’ve grown to where we’ve got six photographers uh… office space here. I have an admin and sales person that works for us full-time, developing an online system. A lot of that growth we attribute to Clay helping us. There are so many things that…

His stuff is not revolutionary. It’s not this crazy walk on hot coals and all this stuff. It’s just real stuff. Group interviews, we were totally against group interviews. We were like, no, we’re different, and we’re special, and we need to do one-on-one interviews so we can find good

quality candidates and not just kind of do this group interview thing. And we tried that and failed miserably. We did group interviews. Now we do them every two weeks. And it’s awesome.

It works good. We always have kind of an influx of new people that we can train, get going. He’s helped us a lot with our website, graphic design, SEO. SEO is another thing that I thought before I started this business and before Clay that it was kind of a joke or something that only your apples of the world and Amazon could get to the top of Google.

But Clay said, no, just do these things, follow these steps and you’ll get there. And I think now we’ve looked today and we’re number two for Dallas real estate photography. You don’t believe it, you can look. So we’re getting to the top of there, that’s really cool. It’s really awesome to get leads that people will call you

and say, hey, I found you on Google. We want to hear about your services. So that’s really great. I’d say there’s nobody out there that’s not a good coaching client for Clay. I mean, anyone, regardless of the business, it’s not about what the business is, what the specialty is. It’s about following the steps, doing what he says. You know, it’s

a good thing. An hour a week, it gets you on track and keeps you kind of in line of what you’re doing and what you shouldn’t be doing. And it’s good to kind of give you some flow and future goals of your business. And I remember our first meeting, we set our goals, and our goal was to do 16 shoots a week. And at the time, me and my business partner slash girlfriend, Gretchen, were like,

we’re never gonna do 16 a week. That’s just like crazy. And today we’re doing nine, and we did about 54 last week. So he’s helped us grow. We put in a lot of hours, a lot of hard work as well.

But if you follow his steps and do what he says, there’s a lot of principles that he’s kind of taught and instilled in us that help us. So yeah, ClickClark, he’s the way to go. I wouldn’t venture out to find someone else. They’d be more expensive and a lot more fluff and no real

actionable work and things to get your business growing. So that’s the way to go.

Thanks. It sounds like you said there would be a lot more fluff with other business coaching programs, which means there would be some fluff in our program. But Aaron Chup, I’m kind of offended by this.

What a testimonial.

He said there’s going to be a lot more fluff. I’m sure he’s not referring to your fluff. He’s probably referring to my fluff.

I think he’s making a fat joke at my expense here.

Thomas, are you talking about fluff? Okay, but seriously, Thrive Nation, if you’re wanting to change your business’s financial situation and move from where you are to where you want to be financially, you owe it to yourself to go to ThriveTimeshow.com and book your tickets for the September workshop. That’s ThriveTimeshow.com.

Get ready to enter the Thrive Time Show.

All right, Thrive Nation, welcome back to the Thrive Time Show on the radio. And guess who has just snuck in to the box that rocks? Guess who just snuck into the dojo of mojo? Guess who’s inside the radio show with you today?

It is none other than Tim Redmond, the phenomenal business coach, the man who grew a company from two people to over 450 people, a guy who’s been featured in 21 irrefutable, they’re irrefutable laws of leadership by John Maxwell, they’re irrefutable laws of leadership and he’s featured in that book. Tim Redmond, how are you? Boom! How are you doing, Clay? Great to be part of the show here. Man, I’m excited because we’re talking about a topic that I think

doesn’t get enough attention. It’s the concept of sowing and reaping. You see a lot of entrepreneurs out there, and I’m sure not our listeners, it’s other people. What happens is they wake up every day shocked that nobody woke up with a burning desire to pay them.

If you’re just now tuning in, we’re going to recap the principles we’ve already covered. First is inspiration, Thrivers, is the reward. Inaction is the giant, but action is your sword. Tim, break it down. How is inspiration the reward you get and not usually the feeling you have when you’re making a cold call or optimizing a website or building a budget?

Why is inspiration something you typically don’t feel until you win?

Well, it’s kind of like starting a fire. You know, it’s the stove and the and the wood were having this argument here and said, hey, listen, if you the stove saying, hey, listen, if you can get yourself on fire, I’ll get warm enough for you to be able to to get really hot and burning. And then the fire, the the wood says this will come out right here. The wood says the stove will listen.

You get hot and fiery and then I’ll jump in. We’ve got to get action here. Perspiration always comes before the inspiration. Once you start moving, Clay, I tell you, client after client, event after event in my own life here, once I get moving, I get grooving, and the inspiration begins to flow.

I’ve noticed that a lot of Thrivers are coming out to our in-person workshops and they’re meeting other entrepreneurs who are also grinders. And it’s sort of encouraging to surround yourself by people that are movers and shakers and doers. In fact, I’ve found that your network typically is equal to your net worth.

And so if you’re listening today and you realize you need to upgrade your peer circle, the people that are in your life, speaking into your life, your mastermind, if you’re a Napoleon Hill fan, I encourage you to book your tickets

for our next in-person workshop at ThriveTimeShow.com. Now action item number two, as we’re recapping, is you want to emotionally engage with your long-term goals and disengage emotionally from the short-term setbacks. Tim, why is it so important that you emotionally commit to getting to your end goal, but emotionally disconnect from those setbacks you have? Because I think as an entrepreneur, we get a lot of setbacks per capita.

Yeah, I tell you, when you begin to move towards your ultimate obsession, your magnificent goal, everything that you want your life to count for, there’s going to be all kinds of resistance. There’s going to be emotional drifting. We’re going to have these battles within ourselves, Clay. We’ve got people that mean well, that say all the wrong things, and they want to do everything they can to discourage us.

They wouldn’t admit that, but the listeners know exactly who I’m talking about. You can picture that one main person that’s really been the discouragement. And so when you have a goal of, it’s kind of like when you’re sailing a ship,

you have to look at the stars. You have to look way out to say, this is going to help me set my direction. If I look too close here, I’m going to be too discouraged and there’s going to be too many resistance. I like what Winston Churchill said. I remember him telling me this here right before he died.

He said, success is moving from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm. And so that’s the short term disasters that we run into is enough to make anybody want to run their head into a brick wall. And we’ve got to have that long-term perspective.

Now, Thrive Nation, if you have ever struggled to get motivated to sow the seeds, you have visions of reaping a harvest, but you’ve struggled to get motivated to sow those seeds, you’re not alone. In fact, there’s a lot of Thrivers out there all around the world who have reached out to us for business coaching, and we’ve been able to help. We’ve taught them the proven path and also helped to hold them accountable and to help

provide some inspirations, motivation, and some direction. And so I’m going to play a little audio clip from a wonderful lady in Long Island, New York who was kind enough to share with us her experience thus far of the Thrive Time Show business coach experience. Without any further ado, here we go.

Hi Thrivers and potential Thrivers. This is Melissa from the Long Island Real Estate Investment Association. We are one of the businesses that is joining the coaching program with Thrive 15. And I’ve got to say, we joined in March and I have not regretted it once. I really enjoy my time with Robert. He’s my coach.

I love Thrive 15 and what they put together. I’ve been in business since I’ve been 18 years old, and I have studied business. I’m just very passionate about it. I love that there’s actually a class or a program that is very affordable that can put it together. I have been studying businesses for a long time, and the beauty of this thing is

that they put systems together, and when you follow them, they work. We’ve seen at least a 20% increase in our business in just a short period of time, but more importantly we see morale pick up. We’re excited again Being 20 years in business You can get stagnant. So it’s great that I can leverage my time As far as they create my websites for me, which I’m so thankful for. Thank you. Clay. Thank you Robert. Thank you Marshall This is some just keep working as you can see we’re not paid actors or actresses.

This is really coming from the heart to say that we really love what Thrive does. And, Clay, you’re really helping millions of people, millions of people turn into millions of families. So teaching these business systems gives you more time with your family to do and pursue the things that you actually love. And I love my businesses. I love that it impacts their lives. But now I can teach my students the business principles you’ve taught us.

So for a very affordable price, trust me, I’ve looked a lot of places over the years for different business programs, but I really love the accountability. I love the tracking. I love learning new lessons. And it doesn’t matter how old your coach is. I always tease that Robert’s so much younger than me,

but the principles work. So thank you, Robert. Thank you, Clay. Thank you, Marshall. And to anybody who’s a potential thriver, definitely take it.

I’ve not regretted it, and it’s well worth the money. Definitely well worth the money. Actually, I think you’d be asking yourself, how much does it cost not doing their program? So those are my last words of wisdom, and thank you that you’re making a difference.

Bye.

Thank you, Melissa, for sharing your experience with the other Thrivers who maybe haven’t checked out our conference or our workshop yet. But if you have yet to experience a workshop, go to thrivetimeshow.com and book your tickets while you still can. Book your tickets at thrivetimeshow.com.

And although time may take us into different places, I will still be patient with you I hope you know I won’t let go I’ll be your lifeline tonight

I won’t let go

Welcome to the Thrivetime Show on Talk Radio 1170

We’ll change the pace and we’ll just go slow

Alright, Thrive Nation, welcome back into the conversation. My name is Clay Clark, and I am super excited to be here with you today as we’re talking today about the concept of sowing and reefing. And as you Thrivers know, I can’t ever get through an episode of one of these broadcasts without talking to you about my beloved Patriots, especially as we enter into football season. It’s really impossible.

I mean, I’ve actually tried. I’ve tried to go an entire broadcast without talking about the Patriots and it’s really, I can’t do it. I want to give you an example that just blew my mind that totally ties into what we’re talking about today. Have you ever felt hopeless where you just feel like, man, my business sucks and I’m

not selling vacuums. I mean, it just sucks. I mean, I’m not having any success at all. I’m not getting where I want to go at all. I’m not having any success. I’m working all the time, not making any money, just grinding.

Have you ever felt like you just, if I could just have one break, just one freaking break, and you just sit there and you wait for that phone to ring? Well, that’s not a good place to be. I want to get you off of, if you’re stuck today, I want to kind of get the momentum going for you. You know, that movie Indiana Jones, that big crazy boulder that starts chasing Indiana

Jones around, once it gets moving, it can’t be stopped. Well, Austin Durant Carr was born in 1993, and he actually wanted to play for Northwestern University in college. The problem is, Northwestern didn’t want him to play for them, so he walked on. How many of you know somebody who’s walked on to play a Division I sport? It usually doesn’t end well, right?

They usually don’t get to play. It’s like, well, they’re a good person, but they’re just, and then they come in during the junk time, you know, when the team’s down by an impossible amount, or when they’re up by an impossible to overcome amount, they just throw them in the junk time. Well, Austin Carr said, no problem. So here he is, Austin Carr, he goes ahead and he says, you know, I’m going to go ahead

and walk on. So he walks on at Northwestern University, and he didn’t even earn a scholarship until his junior year. Then in his senior year, he finally gets his shot, his one opportunity. Why did he get the opportunity? Because he waited for it to happen? No, because he served as a catalyst to ignite this concept into his own life.

He decided to seize his destiny. He decided to control his destiny rather than waiting for it to happen. He earned, finally as a junior here, earned a scholarship. His senior year, he led the Big Ten Conference in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns. And you’re thinking, oh wow, this is a great thing for Austin Carr. He’s, this guy’s on fire. He’s probably going to get drafted in the NFL. Oh no, no. Guess who didn’t draft him? Everybody. He was

undrafted. And so in 2017, he decides, you know, if you’re undrafted, you can technically reach out to any team you want to and say, I want to be a member of your team. And so Austin Carr reached out to my beloved New England Patriots, a team built on undrafted or low round draft picks. He reaches out to my main man, Bill Belichick, and guess what? He earns a roster spot on the preseason team.

And the other night, versus the Jaguars, he put on a laser show. Five receptions, and if you haven’t seen it, go to YouTube and watch Austin Carr, Patriots highlights. This guy is getting it done. And he will be, I’m predicting, he will be yet another undrafted guy who becomes the next Danny Amendola.

The next kind of low draft pick Tom Brady kind of guy. He is the next generation of Patriots. And where do they find these guys? Everywhere. Because they’re looking for people with high character and low draft status. That’s what they do. That’s my guys. That’s the move. And so if you’re looking for some inspiration today, go watch the Austin Carr highlights on YouTube. Just have an Austin Carr Patriots highlights. It’s a game changer. But to create momentum in your life, you must understand this concept of sowing and reaping.

And if you missed it, we’re recapping the moves. Move number three is to create momentum, you must be a catalyst. Tim, talk to me about what it means to be a catalyst as opposed to somebody who’s waiting for an outside event or for luck to set in.

A catalyst, Clay, is a game changer, a playmaker, a rainmaker. A catalyst makes things happen versus the people that wait around, waiting for them to be called. Like this car fella, he would have waited until hell froze over. That’s a metaphorical, I’m not trying to make that up.

Waiting for his spot.

I’m not trying to make a theological point here. And so the idea is we’ve got to create the perspiration that leads to the inspiration, that leads to more perspiration. We’ve got to get that long-term star in the sky that we go for, that we will not give

up until we make it. And a lot of people realize you’re not going to live to be old enough to learn everything starting from scratch. Some people are realizing, you know what, I’m not going to learn everything starting from scratch. So they hire an accountant to help them with their accounting, a lawyer to help them with the legal aspects of their business.

And many people reach out to a business coach to help them grow their business. In fact, Eric Schmidt, the former CEO of Google, says that you need to his number one piece of advice is you need to hire a business coach. And one company, Tip Top K9, did just that right here in Tulsa. And they’re having game changing success. So let me further ado, I’m going to play for you their

testimonial. They’re sharing their experience with the Thrive Time Show Business Coach Program.

Hi, I’m Ryan Wimpey. And I’m Rachel Wimpey, and the name of our business is Kip Top Training.

Our business is a dog training business. We help people with behavioral issues

and teach their dog how to listen. When I was learning to become a dog trainer,

we didn’t learn anything about internet marketing or advertising or anything at all.

It’s just dog training.

And that’s what’s so great about working with Clay and his team because they do it all for us.

So that we can focus on our passion and that’s training dogs. Clay and his team here, they’re so enthusiastic. Their energy is off the charts. Never a dull moment.

Very thrived.

We’ve been working with Clay and his team for the last five months, two of which have been our biggest months ever. One, our biggest gross by 35%. Clay’s helped us make anything from brochures to stickers, new business cards, new logos, scripts for phones, scripts for email, scripts for text messages, scripting for everything.

How I would describe the weekly meetings with Clay and his team are awesome. They’re so effective. It’s worth every minute. Things get done, we’ll ask for things like different flyers and they’re done before our hour is up. So it’s just awesome, extremely effective.

If you don’t use Clay and his team, you’re probably going to be pulling your hair out, or you’re going to spend half of your time trying to figure out the online marketing game and producing your own flyers and marketing materials, print materials, all the stuff like that.

You’re really losing a lot as far as lost productivity and lost time. Not having a professional do it has a real sense of urgency and actually knows what they’re doing when you already have something that’s your core focus that you already know how to do.

You would also be missing out with all the time and financial freedom that you would have working with Clay and his team.

We would recommend Clay and his team to other business owners because they need to be working on their business, not just trying to figure out the online game, which is complex and changing daily. So no one has a marketing team, too. Most people don’t. They can’t afford one, and their local web guy or local person that

they know probably can’t do everything that a whole team and a whole floor of people can do in hours and not just weeks or months. There’s a definite sense of urgency with Clay and his team. I used to have to ride other web people, I mean really ride them to get stuff done, and stuff is done so fast here.

There’s a real sense of urgency to get it done.

It’s great.

Alright, Thrive Nation, just full disclosure, Ryan Wimpey is not a paid actor.

If you need business coaching and a game-changing catalyst for your business, go to thrivetimeshow.com today. But I’m still not found

Get ready to enter the Thrivetime Show I want to especially dedicate this song to anybody who’s ever worked at a Quick Trip convenience store Anybody who’s ever worked a 24-hour shift

Anybody who has ever worked on a holiday

We thank you for making Tulsa a great place to live Quick Trip, we salute you. So every single time I pump my gas, no hesitation, my decision is fast. I go to the gas station Taj Mahal, a place where you can truly have it all. You can have a burrito, or buy a taquito, bathrooms so clean they can boost your ego. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg, there are people there who know how to work.

Their entire workflow blows my mind, I want to pay them just so that we pay them all the time and not what ain’t is great for two reasons Quick trip itself and quick trip reasons It’s like he just said the same thing twice, but he just whined Can’t get away with it

Whatever

Oh, Thrive Nation, if you’re into a quick trip, I mean, I tell you what, I live in B.A. I live in Broken Arrow, and I’ve often thought about just planning a trip to a quick trip bathroom. Just going there and just sitting there and just observing how excellent it is and to see charting maybe on some type of spreadsheet how often they clean it, maybe writing a poem or a haiku about it. I mean, Robert, have you ever had the misfortune of not going into a quick trip bathroom?

I mean, you’re a business coach, you’re a high class guy. Have you ever found yourself going to a non-quick-trip bathroom? Yeah, I like to stay away from those bathrooms like a plague. I don’t want to say any names. Yeah, whoa, whoa, that was very specific, but I affirm you and I agree. They always want to hand you some piece of automotive apparatus that jingles to go with the key, by the way, then the bathroom is usually outside. Isn’t it? Where do you have to go outside to go to the bathroom

at some of these places? Yeah, and it’s kind of like a surprise what’s behind the door whenever you’re opening that thing. Who knows what’s in there? Who’s in there? It’s Ebola! Wow! Okay.

Now we’re talking today about sowing and reaping, and we’re recapping some of the moves we went over, and then I’m going to pass the mic over to Tim Redmond, a business coach who’s helped grow a company from two people to 450 people, who’s been featured in 21 irrefutable laws of leadership from John Maxwell, and who is a great American. So move number four is over delivery. You want to over deliver consistently to ignite the law of reciprocity.

I repeat, you want to over deliver consistently to ignite the law of reciprocity. If you want your customers to refer you, then you have to wow them. When you refer them now, all right, when you wow them now, they will refer you now. Work with me. When you wow these people, when you wow a customer now, they almost feel a need to reciprocate when you exceed their expectations.

It is absolutely super-duper important that everybody writes down right now, how are you going to exceed the expectations of your customers systemically? Not just a one-time, you’re motivated thing, but how do you put it on a checklist to wow your customers over and over again? That is so important. If you want more referrals, you must absolutely wow your customers. Now move number five, as we’re talking about sowing and reefing, is you must obsess about getting into the top 5% of your industry. Tim Redman, why is it so important to everyone listening here today, whether you’re a sales professional, an employee, an

an employer, a pastor, no matter what you do for a living or what you do for an occupation, why is it so important that you obsess about getting into the top 5% of what you do?

Actually, there’s a couple aspects of that, Clay, I think is really important. Obsessing about it means you’re really thinking about how can you continue to bring higher levels of value to your customers. I think of my good friend Jack Welch when he was talking to me Through his book that millions have read And he he talks about listen. He said if I am not if we have

Businesses and segments of GE General Electric that is not either one or two I don’t want to even be in there

So you’re saying if he had because GE had hundreds of companies for those who aren’t aware of GE They had hundreds of companies. I mean, they made plastics, they made aircraft engines, medical equipment, and Jack Welch was saying that if they’re not in the top one or two in the market for that particular niche, for that particular product, he wants out of that niche. He wants to

get it. Right. And when you get in that top position here, you’re obsessing over it. You’re constantly, you know, there’s even this whole concept where you are going to even improve upon what you’ve already got you’re going to reinvent Things that even if you’re profitable in that it’s a disruptive kind of improvement That’s how he increased the earnings and the capitalization the value of the company increased it 40 times 4,000 percent in the 20 years that he reigned as CEO there.

I have a little bit of a slight rant I want to share with the Thrivers out there. There’s a thing called obsessive compulsive disorder or OCD. And they say it’s a mental disorder where people feel the need to check things repeatedly, to perform certain routines repeatedly, and have certain thoughts repeatedly. Well, Andy Grove, who’s the CEO of Intel, the founder, he said that only the conspiracy theorists survive. If you listen to Lee Cockerell, the guy who used to manage 40,000 people at Disney World,

he said that you had to do walk-around management, where you basically walk around every day and you assume that everything is wrong, and then you verify that they did it right. Ronald Reagan said, trust but verify. So I feel like everybody listening today, except for our listeners, your friends who you’re sharing the podcast with, those people, I feel like everyone needs a little bit more OCD in your life because people are just too casual.

And Tim, when you’re casual, you talked about this before, you’ve talked about this, you said when you’re casual, it causes casualties. What does that mean, my friend?

Yeah, if you’re not game on, show time, all in, the casualness is going to lead to sloppiness. The casualness leads to blindness where you’re not going to see the pivots that you need to make in order to stay on top of your game. This is what we talked about Jack Welch, that’s really what he insisted of his VPs and his CEOs of these subsidiaries. If you’re going to be number one or number two, you’re going to demand that you look at opportunities, you’re going to demand more of your staff, you’re going to demand higher standards. And that casualness gives you that excuse that permission slip to stay where you’re

at. You know, Steve Jobs said that most people aren’t used to an environment where excellence is expected. If you go on YouTube, watch Kobe Bryant, just type in YouTube, Kobe Bryant practice rant. He just attacks Nick Young for being lackadaisical in practice. Steve Kerr got punched in the face by Michael Jordan for not running down the court fast enough.

Robert, now we’re talking today about being a successful entrepreneur as a byproduct of understanding the concept of sowing and reaping. Now you are a business coach, and I’m going to read you the final move here today to ignite the law of reciprocity and to really benefit from the concept of sowing and reaping as an entrepreneur, and that’s focus. You want to focus on your core task until success.

F, focus. O, on. C, core. Tasks until success. Focus on your core tasks until success. As a business coach who’s helped many companies grow significantly, how is focus maybe something

that you only see the winners do? Well, I think focus and obsession are very closely aligned. And I think maybe this is the first time I’ve actually been on the air with my dad, Tim Redmond. Oh, really? Yeah, I think this is the very first time that we’ve been on here together.

Nice. And I’ve heard him say that a lot, you know, casualness creates casualties. And I think you can take that even literally in that if you’re casual, or in other words, if you have a lack of focus, it will literally mean the death of your business. You know, something that you tell us all the time, Clay, and I know Z gives this quote all the time, is according to Forbes, eight out of 10 businesses fail.

True. Right? A lot of times that’s because there is a lack of focus. There’s a lack of being able to pinpoint the most important thing, your biggest limiting factor that’s preventing you from that next stage of growth that you need to improve in order to grow and reach that next level of success.

Now Thrivers, I am focused on four tools that I want to give you. Four moves, four things I want to give you today. I have four things I’m focused on. I want to ignite the law of reciprocity by giving you free things. So one, go to thrivetimeshow.com. And I’m not going to beg you, but really you’ve got to go to Thrive Time Show.

Please just go to thrivetimeshow.com and download the Start Here book. It’s absolutely free. It includes all the systems that Dr. Z and I know, the 13-point proven system that we teach. My name is Kevin Thomas and the name of our company is MultiClean. We are a commercial janitorial service and we serve the entire state of Oklahoma and Kansas and soon to be Arkansas. We have probably grown probably five times. We’ve added, I think when we first started with you, we had 60 to 65 employees, and now we have a little over 300 employees. Before we got involved with Thrive Time, we didn’t really have any systems or processes in place. I’ve probably been to, oh, in six, seven years, I’ve probably been to 12 to 13 business conferences,

and amazingly, each time I go, I learn something new and I’m so excited to bring it back and show the team about marketing and how to implement, how to help you guys implement the SEO. And the coaching is just great because there’s accountability.

And it’s just a fantastic way to grow your company. Having a relationship with Thrivetime, it’s just been amazing for MultiClean. Oh my goodness, it frees me up because then I don’t have to take a class on search engine optimization or learn marketing or shoot video. That’s not what we do.

What we do is commercial janitorial service. And you guys were the experts on marketing and you teach me and hold my hand and show me how to do it right, and therefore, now my company is much, much larger. Clay Clark is here somewhere.

Where’s my buddy Clay?

Clay Clark!

Clay’s the greatest.

I met his goats today, I met his dogs, I met his chickens, I saw his compound. He’s like the greatest guy.

I ran from his goats, his chickens, his dogs.

So this guy’s like the greatest marketer you’ve ever seen, right? His entire life, Clay Clark, his entire life is marketing.

Okay, Aaron Antis, March 6th and 7th, March 6th and 7th, guess who’s coming to Tulsa, Russia?

Ooh, Santa Claus?

No, that’s March, March 6th and 7th. We’re going to be joined by Robert Kiyosaki, best-selling author of Rich Dad, Poor Dad, possibly the best-selling, or one of the best-selling business authors of all time and he’s going to be joined with Eric Trump. He’ll be joined by Eric Trump. We got Eric Trump and Robert Kiyosaki in the same place. In the same place. Aaron, why should everybody show up to hear Robert Kiyosaki? Well you got billions of dollars of business

experience between those two, not to mention many many many millions of books have been sold. Many many millionaires have been made from the books that have been sold by Robert Kiyosaki. I happen to be one of them. I learned from the man. He was the inspiration. That book was the

inspiration for me to get the entrepreneurial spirit, as many other

people. Now, since you won’t brag on yourself, I will. You’ve sold billions of dollars of houses, am I correct? That is true. And the book that kick-started it all for you, Rich Dad Poor Dad, the author, the best-selling author of Rich Dad Pornhub, Robert Kiyosaki, the guy that kick-started your career, he’s gonna be here. He’s gonna be here, I’m bummed. And now Eric Trump, people don’t know this, but the Trump Organization has thousands of

employees. There’s not 50 employees. The Trump Organization, again, most people don’t know this, but the Trump Organization has thousands of employees. And while Donald J. Trump was the 45th president of these United States and soon to be the 47th president of these United States. He needed someone to run the companies for him. And so the man that runs the Trump organization for Donald J. Trump as he was the 45th president

of the United States and now the 47th president of the United States is Eric Trump. So Eric Trump is here to talk about time management, promoting from within, marketing, branding, quality control, sales systems, workflow design, workflow mapping, how to build. I mean, everything that you see, the Trump hotels, the Trump golf courses, all their products, the man who manages billions of dollars of real estate and thousands of employees is here to teach us how to do it.

You are talking about one of the greatest brands on the planet from a business standpoint. I mean, who else has been able to create a brand like the Trump brand? I mean look at it and this is the man behind the business for the last pretty much since 2015. He’s been the man behind it so you’re talking we’re into nine going into ten years of him running it and we get to tap into that knowledge. That’s gonna be amazing. Now think about this for a second.

Would you buy a ticket just to see Robert Kiyosaki and Eric Trump. Of course you would. Of course you would. But we’re also going to be joined by Sean Baker. This is the best-selling author, the guy who invented the carnivore diet. Oh yeah. Dr. Sean Baker. He’s been on Joe Rogan multiple times. He’s going to be joining us. So you’ve got Robert Kiyosaki, the best-selling author of Rich Dad Poor Dad, Eric Trump, Sean Baker. The lineup continues to grow and this is how we do our tickets here at

the Thrive Time Show. If you want to get a VIP ticket, you can absolutely do it. It’s $500 for a VIP ticket. We’ve always done it that way. Now, if you want to take a general admission ticket, it’s $250 or whatever price you want to pay. And the reason why I do that and the reason why we do that is because we want to make

our events affordable for everybody. I grew up without money. I totally understand what it’s like to be in a tight spot. So if you want to attend, it’s $250 or whatever price you want to pay. That’s how I do it. And it’s $500 for a VIP ticket.

Now, we only have limited seating here. The most people we’ve ever had in this building was for the Jim Brewer presentation. Jim Brewer came here, the legendary comedian Jim Brewer came to Tulsa, and we had 419 people that were here. 419 people. And I thought to myself, there’s no more room.

I felt kind of bad that a couple people had VIP seats in the men’s restroom. No, I’m just kidding. But I felt, so I thought, you know what, we should probably add on. So we’re adding on what we call the upper deck, or the top shelf. So the seats are very close to the presenters.

But we’re actually building right now. We’re adding on to the facility to make room to accommodate another 30 attendees or more. So again, if you want to get tickets for this event, all you have to do is go to thrivetimeshow.com. Go to thrivetimeshow.com.

When you go to thrivetimeshow.com, you’ll go there, you’ll request a ticket, boom. Or if you want to text me, if you want a little bit faster service, you say, I want you to call me right now. I just texted my number. That’s my cell phone number. My personal cell phone number.

We’ll keep that private between you, between you, me, everybody. We’ll keep that private. And anybody, don’t share that with anybody except for everybody. That’s my private cell phone number. It’s 918-851-0102. 918-851-0102. I know we have a lot of Spanish-speaking people that attend these conferences.

And so to be bilingually sensitive, my cell phone number is 9188510102. That is not actually bilingual. That’s just saying Juan for a Juan. It’s not the same thing. I think you’re attacking me. Now, let’s talk about this. Now, what kind of stuff will you learn at the Thrive Time Show Workshop? So, Aaron, you’ve been to many of these over the past seven, eight years, so let’s talk about it. I’ll tee up the thing and

you tell me what you’re gonna learn here, okay? Okay. You’re gonna learn marketing. Marketing and branding. What are we gonna learn about marketing and branding? Oh yeah, we’re gonna dive into, you know, so many people say, oh you know, I got to get my brand known out there, like the Trump brand. You want to get that brand out there. It’s like, how do I actually make people know what my business is and make it a household name. You’re going to learn some intricacies of how you can do that. You’re going to learn sales. So many people struggle to sell something.

This just in, your business will go to hell if you can’t sell. So we’re going to teach you sales. We’re going to teach you search engine optimization, how to come up top in the search engine results. We’re going to teach you how to manage people. Aaron, you have managed, no exaggeration, hundreds of people throughout your career and thousands of contractors and most people struggle with managing people. Why does everybody have to learn how to manage people?

Well because first of all, people are, you either have great people or you have people who suck and so it could be a challenge. You know, learning how to work with a large group of people and get everybody pulling in the same direction can be a challenge. But if you have the right systems, you have the right processes, and you’re really good at selecting great ones, and we have a process we teach about how to find great people.

When you start with the people who have a great attitude, they’re teachable, they’re driven, all of those things, then you can get those people all pulling in the same direction. So we’re going to teach you branding, marketing, sales, search engine optimization. We’re going to teach you accounting. We’re going to teach you personal finance, how to manage your finance. We’re going to teach you time management.

How do you manage your time? How do you get more done during a typical day? How do you build an organization if you’re not organized? How do you do organization? How do you build an org chart? Everything that you need to know to start and grow a business will be taught during this two-day interactive business workshop.

Now let me tell you how the format is set up here. And again, folks, this is a two-day interactive 15. Think about this, folks. It’s two days. Each day, it starts at 7 AM, and it goes until 5 PM. So from 7 AM to 5 PM, two days.

It’s a two-day interactive workshop. The way we do it is we do a 30-minute teaching session, and then we break for 15 minutes for a question and answer session. So Aaron, what kind of great stuff happens during that 15-minute question and answer session

after every teaching session? I actually think it’s the best part about the workshops because here’s what happens. I’ve been to lots of these things over the years. I’ve paid many thousands of dollars to go to them. And you go in there and they talk in vague generalities

and they’re constantly upselling you for something trying to get you to buy this thing or that thing or this program or this membership. And you don’t, you leave not getting your very specific questions answered about your business or your employees or what you’re doing on your marketing.

And what’s awesome about this is we literally answer every single question that any person asks. And it’s very specific to what your business is. And what we do is we allow you as the attendee to write your questions on the whiteboard. And then we literally, as you mentioned, we answer every single question on the whiteboard. And then we take a 15-minute break to stretch and to make it entertaining when you’re stretching, and this is a true story, when you get up

and stretch, you’ll be greeted by mariachis. There’s going to probably be alpaca here, llamas, helicopter rides, a coffee bar, a snow cone. I mean, you had a crocodile one time. That was pretty interesting. You know, I should write that down.

And I should be sorry for that one guy that we lost.

The crocodile, we duct taped its face. So that it, right, we duct taped. No, it was a baby crocodile. And we duct taped. Yeah, duct taped around the mouth

so it didn’t bite anybody.

But it was really cool to pass that thing around and pet it.

I should do that.

I should. We have a small petting zoo that will be assembled. It’s going to be great. And then you’re in the company of hundreds of entrepreneurs. So there’s not a lot of people in America today. In fact, there’s less than 10 million people

today, according to US Debt Clock, that identify as being self-employed. So if you have a country with 350 million people, that means you have less than 3% of our population that’s even self-employed. So you only have 3 out of every 100 people in America that are self-employed to begin with.

And when Inc. Magazine reports that 96% of businesses fail by default, by default you have a 1 out of 1,000 chance of succeeding in the game of business. But yet the average client that you and I work with, we can typically double the size. No hyperbole, no exaggeration. I have thousands of testimonials to back this up.

We have thousands of testimonials to back it up. But when you work with a home builder, when I work with a business owner, we can typically double the size of the company within 24 months. And you say, double? Yeah, there’s businesses that we have tripled. There’s businesses we’ve grown 8x.

There’s so many examples you can see at thrivetimeshow.com. But again, this is the most interactive, best business workshop on the planet. This is objectively the highest rated and most reviewed business workshop on the planet. And then you add to that Robert Kiyosaki, the bestselling author of Rich Dad Poor Dad. You add to that Eric Trump, the man that runs the Trump Organization. You add to that Sean Baker.

Now you might say, but Clay, is there more? I need more. Well, OK, Tom Wheelwright is the wealth strategist for Robert Kiyosaki. So people say, Robert Kiyosaki, who’s his financial wealth advisor? Who’s the guy who manages? Who’s his wealth strategist?

His wealth strategist, Tom Wheelwright, will be here. And you say, Clay, I still, I’m not going to get a ticket unless you give me more. OK, fine. We’re going to serve you the same meal both days. True story. We cater in the food.

And because I keep it simple, I literally bring them the same food both days for lunch. It’s Ted Esconzito’s, an incredible Mexican restaurant. That’s going to happen. And Jill Donovan, our good friend, who is the founder of Rustic Cuff.

She started that company in her home. And now she sells millions of dollars of apparel and products. That’s rusticcuff.com. And someone says, I want more. This is not enough. Give me more. OK, I’m not going to mention their names right now, because I’m working on it behind the scenes here. But we’ve got one guy who’s given me a verbal to be here.

And this is a guy who’s one of the wealthiest people in Oklahoma. And nobody really knows who he is because he’s built systems that are very utilitarian, that offer a lot of value. He’s made a lot of money in the, it’s the, it’s where you rent, it’s short, it’s where you’re renting storage spaces. He’s a storage space guy.

He owns the, what do you call that? The rental, the storage space? Storage units. This guy owns storage units, he owns railroad cars, he owns a lot of assets that make money on a daily basis, but they’re not like customer facing. Most people don’t know who owns the mini storage facility, or most people don’t know who owns the

warehouse that’s passively making money. Most people don’t know who owns the railroad cars but this guy he’s given me a verbal that he will be here and we just continue to add more and more success stories. So if you’re out there today you want to change your life, you want to give yourself a incredible gift, you want a life-changing experience, you want to learn how to start and grow a company, go to Thrivetimeshow.com. Go there right now. Thrivetimeshow.com. Request a ticket for the two-day interactive

event. Again, the day here is March 6th and 7th. March 6th and 7th. We just got confirmation. Robert Kiyosaki, best-selling author, rich dad, poor dad, he’ll be here. Eric Trump, the man who leads the Trump Organization. It’s going to be a blasty blast. There’s no upsells. Eric, I could not be more excited about this event. I think it is incredible. And there’s somebody out there right now you’re watching and you’re like but I already signed up for this incredible other program called

smoke your way to thin. I think that’s gonna change your life. I promise you this will be ten times better than that. It’s like I picked the wrong week to quit smoking. Don’t do the smoke your way to thin conference. That is it. I’ve tried it. Don’t do it. Yeah, chain smoking is not a viable… I mean it is life-changing. It is life-changing. If you become a chain smoker it is life-changing. Not the best weight loss program though. Right.

Not really.

So if you’re looking to have life changing results in a way that won’t cause you to have

a stoma, get your tickets at Thrivetimeshow.com. Again, that’s Aaron Antis. I’m Clay Clark. And reminding you and inviting you to come out to the two-day interactive Thrivetimeshow workshop right here in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I promise you, it will be a life changing experience.

see you right here in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
