My name is Myron Kirkpatrick and I own White Glove Auto in Bixby, Oklahoma. Being top of Google has affected our business tremendously. I mean, it’s made things so much better just knowing that we’re on the top of Google makes it so much easier for our clients to type in their certain keywords or certain things that they’re searching for. If it pertains to our business, we’re the first ones on that page.

And what typically happens is, you know, most people will just click that top link on that page and go to that website, and that’s going to be us. So that does affect us a lot. We get a lot of phone call traffic. We get a lot of website traffic.

And it doesn’t just happen right off the bat. Of course, it does take a little bit of time. We have so many keywords that are in our business, and there are some keywords where we rank top of Google on really quick. But there are other keywords that have taken us a year, a year and a half to start becoming top of Google on.

Those keywords that are tougher to get are keywords that are usually most common between you and your competitors and you’re trying to overcome that. So it does take some time on some of those real common keywords and some other keywords that aren’t so common maybe you can come top of Google on pretty quick. But overall it has tremendously helped White Glove Auto and I would suggest that everybody take Google seriously and definitely try ranking on top of Google. Drive Nation, if you’re out there and you feel stuck in kind of a rut and you don’t know how to get unstuck,

today’s guest is going to be a ray of light. This guy has been stuck with us for seven years almost. I mean, almost seven years, and I’ve been tracking, so I could be wrong, but I believe he’s grown his business by 20 times over these past seven years we’ve been working together, and it really is an honor to have him back on the show. Myron Kirkpatrick from White Glove.

Welcome back on the Thrived Time Show. How are you, sir? Hey, thanks. I’m doing great. Hey, so real quick, I want to make sure I’m getting my numbers right.

I think we’ve worked with you for about seven years. Is that accurate? Yeah, no, that’s definitely, I would actually say maybe even eight years. Eight years. And I think, and correct me if I’m wrong,

but I think you’ve grown your business by about 20 times since we started with you. Is that accurate or is that? Oh, at least 20 times, at least. Is it higher than that? You think it might be 25 times or?

I think it might be 25 times, honestly. I mean, it’s a substantial growth. You know, I was on part two of today’s show, we’re gonna interview a client that we’ve helped them to grow their business from three locations, or let’s say a handful of locations,

to 500 plus locations. So it’s like it’s awesome when you get a chance to work with people over time because we get a chance to see you grow your business and develop a variety of new solutions for people. So tell us what is the core business at White Glove Auto? And I’ll pull up the website as you describe it, but tell us

what’s the core business that you have there at White Glove? So at White Glove, what we do is we service pretty much anything on wheels. If it’s on wheels, it can go into our shop, then we can do our services to it, which is either like window tinting, paint protection film, ceramic coating, or like custom vinyl wraps or color change vinyl wraps and stuff like that. And again, this is, with the business here, I mean, you guys are doing auto wraps, you’re doing decals, like for the microphone we have,

you did that. Yeah, exactly. Tell us more about the services you guys provide. So I mean, we can do, like I said, the custom stripes, we can do custom business decals and printed wraps, like you said, we did your microphone there. We can wrap just about anything.

We’ve done refrigerators. I mean, it’s almost endless in this kind of rap industry. It’s awesome. Now, again, the growth you guys are having is absolutely tremendous. Now, I want to walk people through some of the things that you do on a weekly basis that, in my opinion, have helped you to change the game for your business. And feel free to disagree with me, but one, you have never stopped, once you started it, you’ve never stopped the process of always hiring. We tell people always hiring. We might call it the group interview. We do

countless shows about how to do it on a weekly basis. There’s a lot of details to it, but tell us about the importance of implementing that weekly, never-ending, always hiring process. Well, I’ll tell you, if I didn’t do the group interviews, I’d tell you, I probably wouldn’t be doing this podcast right now. I’d be booking all my time doing all these one-on-one interviews and doing the group interviews has definitely been a big help for us.

And also doing it on a regular basis, every week we do ours every Monday. Anytime we have to let somebody go or somebody quits unexpectedly, we always have somebody to replace them immediately, which is very helpful. We don’t have to sit there and scramble and find ourselves

in a big havoc just trying to find somebody. We already have somebody that we know that we like and we bring them right on. And again, folks, we have detailed shows about this, but I’m telling you, if you’re out there today and you own a business, you’ve always got to be hiring.

You can never stop hiring. And again, we call this process the group interview process. So I’m gonna pull up my calendar so people can see this. Every single Wednesday, I personally, for all my companies, I’m interviewing potential job candidates. We just had one young lady who started with us, has done a great job, I have no problem with her, in one of my companies, and she does a great job, there’s zero issue with

her, she does a great job. But we just found out that she’s having a baby. And I’m not upset about it, it’s just the reality is she’s having a baby, right? So she says, hey boss, just so you know, I’m having a baby. So I said, okay, when are you having the baby? Doesn’t look like she’s having a baby now.

And she says, well, I just found out. So maybe in eight months from now, nine months from now ish. I said, okay, well, because I’m doing the group interview, I’m able to always have new candidates coming in there. That’s a real thing. Myron, we had an employee just two weeks ago, great employees, been here a long, long time,

who gave us a call, had been with us for years, and indicated they had moved to a different state over the weekend because they got a divorce. And I’m like, I don’t even know that dynamic where, but they were like, things got sideways, they got crazy. I moved down to Texas.

Have you ever had employees that have quit on a last minute notice where you’re the last one to know and it’s something like a, because again, you’re a very consistent employer. You pay your employees on time, you do all the systems we teach, but have you ever had an employee just freak out for personal issues?

Oh yeah, absolutely. I mean, I had one employee just not too long ago actually, who his father started getting kind of sick and there was not much family to take care of him and he felt like he was the only option. And so he just like pretty much like up and said, hey, I got to be out of here in a couple of days. I got to move to Texas, take care of my dad.

And I was just like, well, OK, thanks for letting me know. And then I already had a stack of people already waiting to take a spot. So it wasn’t a stress on me. Again, if you don’t have these systems in place, folks, it makes it rough.

Next is you’re obsessed with gathering a great review and video reviews from actual clients you’ve actually worked with. So one thing that you do really well is you guys make sure that your service is delivered with excellence. You’ve done it with this microphone, you’ve done it with auto wraps for my clients, you work with clients in all 50 states, but you, you know, as a weekly action item, you make

sure that your clients are happy. And then what you do is you gather objective reviews from those happy customers. customers, talk to us about the importance of every single week, doing a great job and then gathering the Google and video reviews. Tell us about that. Well, obviously, yeah, you always want to do a great job, but then, you know, what’s

even harder is trying to get people to actually review you on that great job because everybody always wants to say how bad you are if you mess up. But, you know, if we do a good job, which we typically always do, we always ask the customer to leave us a review. And we’ve definitely found that, you know, getting our Google reviews has been a huge driver

of business from Google. I never realized how important Google reviews were until I started working with you. And, you know, luckily now, you know, almost eight years later, I’m at like 1,100 reviews and, you know, I’m way ahead of everybody else.

So, it’s definitely been helpful. And again, you gather them consistently. What would you say to somebody out there that, again, I know how much we change a business owner’s life. I mean, I look at clients like Oxifresh, where our team and I, we’ve had the chance to work with them.

And when you see somebody who has a handful of locations, and then you see them grow to 500 plus locations, that’s a tangible thing. Now, I’m telling you folks, this is an 18 year, 17 year conversation. I mean, this isn’t, so on part two of today’s show,

when we interview Matt Klein from Oxifresh, I want you to know, I mean, we’ve been working with Oxifresh since before Matt even joined the company. But what would you say to somebody out there that’s been a little bit hesitant to hiring a coach

or what kind of impact has it made on your life? Man, it’s been the best move I think I’ve ever done relating to business. Even my business partner and also my wife, Kristen, believes the same thing. And this is something we’ll never stop doing.

And we believe that having a coach and having a mentor there to help guide us through the process of creating a successful business has really done strides for us. I don’t think we’d be anywhere near the growth that we’re at now if it wasn’t for having a mentor or a coach. Now, third is upselling, upserving.

I mean, that’s a way to look at upserving. You know, you guys, you were just talking to me about it off air. You’ve come up with new solutions for your existing customers because you listen to what your customers are asking about,

what products or solutions they’re looking for. And over time, you begin to add more and more solutions. Your newest solution now is stickerconcepts.com, stickerconcepts.com. Tell us first, how has having the mindset of always looking for new problems

to solve for your customers, how has that impacted your business growth? Well, as far as the stickers go? Yeah, I mean, just all the services you’re providing. I mean, because you guys have added a lot of additional services.

Yeah, I mean, we always are trying to add services to meet customer needs that isn’t too far off from what we already do, because, I mean, yeah, we do wraps and we do custom business decals, and then I was like, hey, might as well as do stickers. So I did a whole spinoff on our sticker concept business

where we create all these crazy, funny stickers or political stickers or explicit stickers, whatever. It’s just kind of funny all over the place. And, you know, you can even do your own custom stickers. You can submit me a picture and I’ll be able to make it all these different stickers of different sizes for you

to help meet your needs in your personal life or maybe as business. You know, like we do on, you know, business vinyl wraps, we wrap business vehicles as like a billboard. And sometimes businesses can even use these stickers as like another promoter for their business.

And that’s also a big driver of sticker concepts. And again, this right here, folks, at sticker concepts dot com sticker concepts dot com up fourth is system creation. You know, when we work with a brand, I’ll just show you an example. This is one of my own companies called elephant in the room. It’s a haircut chain.

Well, all of the systems and processes that we have in place here, um, are all documented on the website. So every checklist, every print piece, every process, it’s all documented. So if I’m looking for an opening checklist, a pay stub checklist, a how to read a pay stub document,

an onboarding new employee checklist, everything is documented. It’s all been created, documented in a way that other people who are not me can use it. Therefore, the business is scalable. Talk to the listeners out there about the importance of building scalable and linear

systems. That’s been one of the most challenging aspects of growing this business is trying to get all the systems and processes out of my head as an owner and putting it down on paper so that it’s understandable by everybody else. Our website for White Glove actually looks pretty similar to what you just had up there on the screen, where we have all the different documents and procedures

and checklists and everything else, all listed out on a staff page. And it’s really made it to where I can step away from the business, and I know things are still gonna get taken care of the way they’re supposed to be getting taken care of.

And when I come back, the building isn’t gonna be burned down. So it’s definitely been a huge driver of where we’re at right now. Again, I’m actually only at the shop, probably a total of like two or three days out of the week.

And the other time I’m trying to, you know, run this other business I’m doing with Thicker Concepts. Now let’s talk about this, having the marketing processes. Some people look at marketing as an event. They’re like, oh, okay, I’m gonna do mailers. Oh, okay, this week I’ll probably do a billboard.

I think I’ll do a magazine ad. I think I’ll do a magazine ad and a billboard. I think I’ll put out a sign, I’m going to go to a local baseball game and get my name out there. And that’s their marketing. It’s a series of random events, random shot in the dark events, I think I’m going to advertise

in a magazine, where we turn it into a process. And so now you have a process that produces a predictable amount of leads that we track every week. Can you talk about how having a marketing process in place, and again, our team does photography, video, web development, search engine,

a lot of those things are included, all that’s included in the consulting that we do, but again, you have to put a lot of work into it. Can you talk about the importance of having a process for your marketing that’s predictable? Yeah, for sure.

So, I mean, like you said, it’s gotta be predictable marketing and something that you know that works for you. And obviously, you find all that out through trial and error. But you know, it’s like you can’t just like,

you know, just advertise in all these little different areas like, you know, a magazine and then a baseball game and then, you know, another thing, another thing, and then you’re just throwing your money all over the place. I feel like, you know, for us at least, it was, you know, trying to find, you know,

the areas where we for sure wanna target people at and then we stick with those areas and we try not to stray away from that too much. So like, you know, our process for marketing is Google and AdWords or AdRoll, I should say, and social media. And again, so some people can put that in their mind.

We’ve got three marketing avenues that we do every single week with you. You know, step one, we’ve got the, they’ve got a three-legged marketing stool. So leg number one of this very sturdy stool is ongoing search engine optimization, and our team tackles that. And you, Greg, gather objective Google reviews

that helps with that. The second is you’ve got retargeting ads, ad roll that follows your people around the web, the internet, once they visit your website. And then third, we have those social media ads on. But again, you continue to ask your existing customers,

what are additional solutions that we can provide for you? And this newest solution that you have, it sounds like it’s off to a great start here. It’s called stickerconcepts.com. Stickerconcepts.com, for people out there that want to learn more or want to take action, what do our listeners need to know there, Chief?

Well, just go to stickerconcepts.com. You can go on there and you can buy any premade stickers that we may have, but the biggest seller here is the custom-made stickers. So if you want to have a custom-made sticker, you go to the website, stickerconcepts.com, you click on the custom-made icon at the very top there

in the navigation menu, and then whenever you go there, it’s gonna be like a custom-built calculator where it’s gonna have you select what material you want, if you want it gloss or if you want it matte, what shape you want it to be,

how many stickers do you want. And the more that you buy, the more discounted it gets. So that is, you know, the benefits of having the custom-made stickers. And again, custom-made stickers are great, especially for businesses who are trying to just, you know, have a little thing to hand out to customers, you know, or whatever. And it’s pretty cheap. But yeah, that’s what you can do. Again, this website is stickerconcepts.com. That’s stickerconcepts.com.

Myron, I really appreciate you carving out time for us today. What would you say to all the listeners out there that are eagerly taking notes there? So I’ll give you the final word. I’m sorry, what was that? I kind of cut out there.

I’ll give you the final word for our listeners out there that are taking notes. What do you want to say to our listeners out there? Final thoughts. Man, final thoughts is, again, you got to make sure you get yourself a coach or a mentor,

because that was the biggest defining thing in my business is making sure that I had a mentor and a coach to help guide me through the process. And make sure you’re getting your Google reviews. Those are the two biggest things I think would impact anybody.

Hey, Byron, I really do appreciate you. Again, folks, I encourage everyone to check out that new product, that new website. Again, that is stickerconcepts.com. We’ll see you soon there, sir. All right, thank you.

Take care, bye-bye.
