If I do say so myself, lately, at the Thrivetime Show, the business coach team has been nothing short of making the most offensive statements backed by facts such as, “The mortality rate of the coronavirus is .26% without a vaccine.” https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/hcp/planning-scenarios.html?fbclid=IwAR0tN9JHXstc19dF0hojYnRCWbZsD2yl0YkJj1QswxQXXnnhQTcxC-ZMKj8
So, you may be curious why I’m starting my introduction to my blog this week already offending about half of you right now. Well… it’s because I’m about to offend the masses at the same time. For most of our business coaching clients, they are in a flow and they do a great job. For others, not so much. YES I’M CALLING YOU OUT.
Now, before you get angry and jump to conclusions, I’m probably not actually talking about you because you are a business coach diary reader! But if you’ve been slacking lately, that’s your conscience talking to you so maybe go back to my first statement and maybe you actually need to believe that I’m calling you out. I’m talking to the masses here because I’m taking a bit and a piece of every interaction I have. You see, I hear from hundreds of entrepreneurs on a monthly basis in my role. Literally hundreds. We talk to them about the same things over and over. Usually – it’s duplication, time, managing priorities, GETTING THINGS DONE. I see you. I hear you. I know you.
Most people do not get as much accomplished as they intended. After all, don’t we all have optimistic views of how fast we think we can get certain things accomplished? Or, do you sometimes think you have things accomplished, checked off your list and you realize there’s some kind of error or doom waiting in the shadows. And if you’re an entrepreneur, I KNOW you. I meet you all every week, and I hear the entrepreneur in you, really, truly, believe you can get it ALL DONE IN A WEEK. YES. “I can. ABSOLUTELY. I WILL HAVE IT DONE”. Sound familiar? We get “most” of it. Or “some” of it. Then, there comes the week that we get NONE of it done.
When you don’t get your action items done, you’re only hurting yourself.
Let’s talk about something for a second. What happens when you don’t get your action items done? The truth is, you’re only hurting yourself. Is the temporary pain of, I don’t know, getting up at 3:30 am in the morning, or staying up until 11:00 pm at night getting work done while your family is asleep (guilty). What is the solution though?
- Carry a Calendar or Day Planner
- Carry a To-Do List
- Follow the Calendar and To-Do List
- Wake Up Early
- Make Sacrifices to Get it Done
- Get a business coach
Developing these habits puts you in the category of people who also have similar habits, who are incredibly successful because of those. Why wouldn’t we emulate their effective habits?
One of the hardest things about being a business owner is you have to self motivate yourself. So in order to make the sacrifices needed to win, it requires temporary pain. But not doing that, means you will lose. Will you lose?
The only way to lose, is to not do. Making excuses such as, “I didn’t have time” is the same thing as not doing anything.
