At the Thrivetime Show this week I had the incredible opportunity to work in a successful business coach company. Many states are closed and just now beginning to open however the great state is Oklahoma opened up the last week of April. Opening up the Broken Arrow salon meant that after a month and a half of being shut down, the team and I could start working again. Work is important when it comes to the successful functioning of a free society.
Now that Elephant In The Room Men’s Grooming Lounge has been open for a little over a month, we are back in full swing. This week I want to press on the importance of V.I.S.M.
V – Video Reviews
First in this acronym is V which stands for videos. On my to-do list every day I have printed the number of video reviews I aim to film. On the monitor of one of the registers, I have taped the questions I am to ask when filing a video review. This way I have my reminder every day. In our weekly meeting, the staff is held accountable for how many video reviews they collected. The weekly follow up is important because it keeps myself and the team accountable to our expected tasks to be done.
I – Images
The I in V.I.S.M. stands for images. Images collected and then added to a Google listing increase the likelihood of beating the competition while partway gaining a higher ranking on Google. Now you may be asking why images are important if we just snagged some videos. The answer is simple, Google ranks websites based on a variety of reasons. However, the most important reason Google ranks websites higher is if they have more content then the competition. Videos are reviews and content for your business coach website and photos are content for your website.
S – Search Engine Optimization Content
Now S in V.I.S.M stands for SEO or Search Engine Optimization Content which is the typing (or speaking) of a thousand words of content related to a page on the website. The more content a website has the higher Google will rank it on its search engine. This means that the business with the most videos, images, & content is going to come up first. Content can be and should be added regularly on a weekly basis. If the content gets uploaded to a site once every couple of weeks Google will not move the site up. Only diligently and consistently uploading content, will get Google’s attention.
M – More Reviews
Finally, M stands for more reviews. Reviews should be gathered on Google every single day the business is open. There are a few different reasons for the urgency of constantly collecting reviews for Google My Business page. Reason number one is the least favorite, exactly like uploading content to a website must occur on a weekly basis, the same rings true for reviews. Google views business’ with a consistent stream of reviews as a live or open business. A business that has not gotten reviews in a few days is viewed as a closed or dead business. The second reason for more reviews is because you will always receive a bad review without asking for one, you will ONLY receive good reviews when you ask for an objective review.
At the end of the day having a presence on page one of Google’s search engine guarantees potential customers will find you. According to Forbes more and more people are looking at internet searches for business coach programs before asking friends, family, or even leaving the house. This is why focusing on video testimonials, images, content, & more reviews are incredibly important to the viability of business online. Remember if you have an online presence and most customers search for products or services online.
