It is important to be consistent in business. Many people have the big dream of being their own boss and having their own schedule and it sounds like the best idea. It is only the diligent doers, however, that succeed in business; the happy hopers do not succeed, ask any business coach. Immediately upon opening up shop for yourself, you are responsible every day for the mistakes that are made in your business, you are responsible for payroll getting finished on time, you are responsible for looking for your companies’ biggest limiting factor. In order to stay on top of everything, you must be consistent, with your schedule and the time you wake up every day. You must be consistent with following up with your team to ensure the product or service is being delivered the same way every time. You must be consistent in looking at your companies’ biggest limiting factor and following through with a game plan to eliminate said limiting factor.
Have I mentioned yet how important it is to be consistent as a business owner? Probably not, let’s continue. Elon Musk, the founder of PayPal, SpaceX, AND Tesla said that you “Work like hell. I mean you just have to put in eighty to one hundred-hour weeks every week. [This} improves the odds of success. If other people are putting in forty hour work weeks and you’re putting in one hundred hour work weeks, then even if you’re doing the same thing you know that…you will achieve in four months what it takes them a year to achieve.” Why am I quoting Elon Musk about how many hours you need to put in every week on a page about consistency? Elon Musk dedicated thousands of hours to build his companies to what they are today, that kind of pigheaded diligence made Elon successful, $39.1 billion dollars of success.

What else takes consistency in business? Yes, you guessed it, being a business coach as well as search engine optimization! It is equally important to stay on page one of Google, it takes months and months if not years of diligently adding content to your website to even reach page one of Google. Then once you’ve reached page one on Google it takes consistently adding content to reach the top of Google and stay at the top. As soon as you stop uploading content Google lowers your ranking.
All of your hard work and dedication will pay off, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. The purpose of your business is to serve you. The business is a vehicle to get you where you want to go. When you are putting in more than forty hours a week and you are at the end of year one of your business do not give up and call it a failure simply because you just now reached top in Google. When you hit top in Google is when people can find you and the leads start coming in. When the leads start coming in is when you the business’ wheels are turning. Most business owners quit right before the tipping point simply because they believed in the lie that you can achieve unlimited happiness and financial freedom while only working forty hours a week. This is simply not true, Elon Musk is a prime example. Keep the faith, keep pushing because it is the diligent doer that wins not the happy hoper.
