Warren Buffet said “Buy into a business that’s doing well so an idiot could run it because sooner or later, one will,” The key to the success of a business starts with having a great product, once you have a great product you’ll need to sell said great product. Creating the product, selling the product, and providing any ongoing support needed for your team will require systems so simple no one could mess it up. Once you have the systems that a business coach can help with, it is so easy to think no one could mess it up – heads up, someone is going to mess up at one point.
Block Out Time to Work on the Business
Step one in creating a scalable business is to block out time to work on the business which is what we are about to do. Now you might ask what could I possibly need to work on aside from selling my product or service? The answer is a lot. Businesses are vehicles to get you where you want to go. If you just love making pizza or installing windows and being poor then by all means do not ever try to implement a single system.

If you are interested in growing your business to turn it into a vehicle to get you both time and financial freedom then let’s get started. As a business coach, I begin with blocking out that time needed to create the systems and processes which are going to enable your team to operate and function successfully without you directly managing them.
Implement Checklists
Create a checklist for all of the things in your head that need to get done each day. Each position needs a checklist with time blocks. Typically if you ask someone to do something they will wait until the last minute to get everything done at once, turn the tables and specifically block out each hour of your employee’s day and you will drastically decrease the amount of time wasted within the company
Hire a Manager
So far we have blocked out time to work on the business, such as creating checklists, now said checklists are made and have one more action to get closer to achieving both time and financial freedom. Hire a manager. The manager will have your back and is responsible for making sure the checklists are being completed. Boom! You now have a team working on items you used to fill your day with and you have someone not named you to make sure each item gets done and marked off.
This is just the beginning of the proven systems that business coach Clay Clark and Jon Kelly teach one hundred and sixty clients a month.
