Jessica Zimmerman shares how she went from just working 16 hour days without earning a profit to generating 7 figures working 6 hours a day. Jessica also explains why you need to learn to get off of email long enough to become a proactive person.

- I know that you’ve had a ton of success at this point in your career, but I would love to start off at the bottom and the very beginning of your career. What was your life like growing up and where did you grow up?
- I grew up in Conway Arkansas and was in a really bad car accident when I was little.
- My sister died and I lived.
- My mom put all of her energy into her one surviving child.
- I felt a little bit different growing up because I had the wait of my parents focusing on their only living child.
- What is your favorite old school jam?
- When did you first figure out what you wanted to do professionally?
- I understand that you went from working 16 hour days without earning a profit to generating 7 figures working 6 hours a day…but that your journey really started after surviving a car accident that actually took the life of your sister…what happened?
- I bought a wedding business. I kept hearing that you just have to work your butt off and not reap any rewards for 5 years and I believed it. I didn’t know that you could have a family life and a successful business.
- I wasn’t making any money at all. There was nothing to justify my hours of work.
- I realized that I couldn’t do any work until the shop closed.
- I started writing down what everyone was calling about and asking. I realized that the business was a distraction. I realized that I could meet people by appointment only on my time.
- Email is a reactive thing. You have to get your own work done first.
- I have done wedding planning. In 2018 I did my last wedding.
- I wanted to utilize the slow season
- Jessica, I’ve heard it said that you realized that life was too short to give your freedom away to others. What do you mean by this?
- When you circum to others’ whims and requests, you give them your time and your freedom.
- Jessica, you didn’t make a profit for 5 years…why do you believe this was?
- I bought into the thought that I couldn’t and I was not supposed to.
- I was so busy working in the business and being reactive.
- Jessica, I read that your husband fell ill and became bedridden for a year and that you had to take control and provide for your family of 5…how did you pull this off?
- How did you go about funding your floral design business?

- I wake up at 5:00 AM Because I know I need “Me” time.

- Time by myself for a devotional
- I run
- I meditate
