The privilege of thought is one of the greatest gifts that any person can get. We are all born with it and we all have the option to use it or lose it. Let us take a magical journey back to before I worked at Thrive on the business coach team and was surrounded by the average person. I was indifferent about a lot of things and that did not really bother me. The other people I was around and myself seemed content with what life would throw at us and thought that was how it was going to be. If something good happened, or bad, it was either good luck or bad luck. Since working at Thrive for a year now I have noticed a great and wonderful transformation with who I was and what I have become. Over the past couple of weeks, business coach Clay asked the team to read Outwitting the Devil by Napoleon Hill. This great man was the apprentice of Andrew Carnegie and set out to find what made people successful and unsuccessful. This book outline and Q and A format interview with the Devil and how he tricks people into the worst thing of them all, drift in their purpose.
The gift of thinking is a great and powerful tool that many ordinary people do not realize that they control.
As I was reading the book, I quickly realized that I had almost become caught in the whirlpool of drifting. The power of drifting keeps people poor, obese, addicted to sex, alcohol, and cigarettes. In order to break free, all one has to do is think, or be around people that think and have a desire to think too. The one quote that really stuck out to me and set off this lightbulb is the fact that the definite purpose of thought is a PRIVILEGE and that the Devil controls 98 out of every 100 people. They lose that privilege by simply doing nothing with it. The gift of thinking is a great and powerful tool that many ordinary people do not realize that they control. They get into the habit of not thinking and/or group thinking with the masses and they do not know the great asset they are losing. The people that have amassed great piles of wealth are the ones that belong to the 2 out of 100 that the Devil does not control. They are the ones that have applied thought into their lives and have used their brains.
I got this book back in December of 2018, but I am so glad that I did not read it until now. Otherwise, everything that this business coach book teaches would have gone right over my head and I would have not gotten this great knowledge that it provides. The power to be sure of who you are and what you want from life is extremely powerful. Without this sure knowledge, one is on a path to become a drifter and remain in an awful state where they simply take what life throws at them and what other people put their way. This wise wisdom from Napoleon Hill was ahead of its time, as I see countless people I know from High School start on the path of the drifter and lose the privilege of definite thought.
