Business Coach : Finding Your Real Purpose

If you’re on the left side of the aisle or the right side of the aisle, or maybe you’re just walking down the middle, because you are a moderate– and that’s OK, that’s OK; we respect all views– here we go. Ronald Reagan, the former president of United States, once said, “It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.”
Let’s pretend you’re watching this from Honduras. It is time to restore the precept that each individual is accountable for his actions. No matter where you are on the planet right now, this precept, that each individual is accountable for their actions– how do you hold yourself accountable for hitting your goals? Do you have a business coach in your life? What is your system here?
-Sure, I’ve got mentors in my life. But when I hear that quote from Ronald Reagan, I think about something that I try to teach my staff– you can’t get upset with the results that you didn’t work to get it. The problem that people have with that is they don’t understand that things don’t just happen. You’ve got to work to get there. If you want good results, you’ve got to do the things it takes to make it happen.
In our world, so many people think that things just happen. And they don’t. Entitlement runs rampant, and it runs with business owners. They think just because they throw a sign up, they get a business loan, things are going to be great. And they’re not. You just can’t get results you didn’t work for. And you can’t be mad about it. You can’t be upset.
-The law of cause and effect? It’s essentially what we’re talking about here. You do certain things, and you produce certain results. How big a part does this belief that things don’t happen play in your life as it relates to turning these dreams into reality? A business coach can play a pretty big role!
-The good thing about a competitive advantage that people have over other people is belief. I believe that I’m the very best at what I do, and most days I wake up and I am.
-I’m so excited, because what you’re talking about here is so simple, but it’s profound– this idea that things just don’t happen, and that you can actually turn your dreams into reality. If you’re talking to someone on the other side of the camera right there who has maybe never had success, their mom and dad never had success, they are living in a community where there’s not success, they feel depressed, they feel like they do not have the capacity to be successful because they’ve never seen somebody do it before– what would you say to that person right now to encourage them about making success happen?
-Sure. I would tell a person– your past, your parents, the events that have taken place in your life don’t dictate your future. The things the dictate your future are the things that you’re willing to do that other people aren’t.
-Well, you blew my mind again here. I think, for anybody watching this, the simplicity of the concepts you’re teaching, I don’t want them to get in the way of the profoundness of the implications if you actually do these things.
