And now three, two, one, here we go. We started from the bottom, now we’re here. Started from the bottom, and that’s what we gotta do. Welcome back. We are here live broadcasting to 44 countries now worldwide. Worldwide. Yeah, worldwide. We are joined today with Clay Clark and Jose Miranda. And we are excited to be getting into the follow-up factor, the three steps for delegating effectively. Now, Clay, as we get into this, why is this training so important for all of the thrivers and people watching here today? Because it’s all about getting stuff done. It’s not about the amount of stuff you learn. It’s about the stuff you get done. You get paid for results. You don’t get paid for what you know. It’s about getting stuff done and your ability to get stuff done is what’s going to ultimately pay you. You’re gonna get paid for what you get done. And so today we are talking about that topic that so many people struggle with is it’s how do you go from knowing all this stuff to actually getting it done. I could not be more excited about this topic because it can be totally game changing and life-changing for people who know a lot but struggle to get a lot done. Okay, and so, you know, to kick this off, I’m going to read a notable quotable that just blows my mind, okay? It says, it’s from David Novak, he’s the CEO of Yum Brands, okay? So, he says, one of the greatest failures to execute is the lack of follow-up. This seems so obvious, yet very few companies place as much emphasis on accountability as they do on figuring out what they want to get done. Steve Reinman, who was the president of Pizza Hut when I was head of marketing there, is the best ever I’ve seen on this front. He always carried a three by five note card in his shirt pocket, and when he saw something that needed to be done, he’d pull out the card, write it down. Like everyone else who witnessed this, I quickly realized that I had better write down the same things because he’d surely be on me until they got done. Okay, so he got results everywhere he went, whether it was the president of Pizza Hut or Frito-Lay or chairman of PepsiCo because he made a point of following up. People often lose track of what they’ve talked about in meetings and what they promise to do, but when you write it down, you won’t forget it. Clay, begin getting into this. Why is it so important that you write things down and follow up on things? I think everybody should go ahead and hit the rewind button and watch that again. Let’s just rewind that back and just do it all again. I’m not kidding. That should be almost like a subliminal, you turn that into like a meditative prayer right there. That thing is awesome. Now David Novak, I mean this is a guy who we’re talking about KFC, we’re talking about Pepsi, we’re talking about Taco Bell, we’re talking about, this is like the Pizza Hut, we’re talking about the fast food champion of the world here. This is the CEO and he’s talking about this. There’s a couple of nuggets I want to make sure you’re getting out of this. One of these says, they don’t place emphasis on accountability. Most people are not placing emphasis on accountability. You have to have an emphasis on accountability. Emphasis, meaning what? Well, if I said the word syllable, if I put the wrong emphasis, right? The wrong emphasis on the wrong syllable, it sounds weird. So you put the right emphasis on the right syllable, it sounds right. But in business, you have to get stuff done. You have to emphasize getting it done. Accountability is just saying, you said you would do this, did you do it? You said you, that’s all it is, is accountability. People get all worked up about it. I mean, I don’t want to throw somebody under the bus like that. If they didn’t do it and they said they would, it’s nothing, they’re not a bad person per se. They just didn’t get it done. And if you let it not get done over and over, you are perpetuating, you are creating a cycle of failure. You’re creating this culture where people talk about things but nothing gets done. That is why, and you see it, that’s why I hate, hate, when people bring up new ideas and I know they’re lazy, it makes me insane. Because I know, and in a group setting, I don’t want to say, that’s a bad idea because you’re lazy. But in my mind, when they bring up an idea, a lot of people put a bias on ideas, like the idea matters, it’s getting it done. So I realize, this person won’t get that thing done, so I just, I watch and I’m like, you probably see my face where I go, you know. So the accountability’s huge, emphasis accountability. Next is, he talks about three by five note card. Homie’s carrying around this note card where he writes down stuff. Anybody who’s worked with me for any amount of time, I don’t know, like an hour or more, sees my to-do list. I’m always running around with my to-do list. I get physically stressed out when I hear people talk and not write things down. It physically stresses me out. Just this weekend, I was at my brother’s wedding and I watched somebody talk and I knew what they were saying at no point were they going to do it because they were laying out this very complicated idea. You know, and you’re meeting family from all over the world and you’re kind of talking to them and you’re trying to fellowship and celebrate my brother’s wedding. But they’re talking and you realize like they’re not going to do anything with that idea. And I realized like this conversation is pointless because you’re not writing down anything that we’re talking about. The next thing is you have to write it down like he said. So you carry around that note, carry around that note card or carry on that to-do list. But the third is you have to actually write stuff down. And the fourth thing he talks about is following up. I mean that’s a powerful quote right there. You should watch that thing at least two to 15 times. One of the things he talks about in here is he quickly realized that he better write down the same things because he knew that he was going to be followed up on. They kind of operated from the same to-do list, the same action items, so they always knew what was going to be expected of them. Now you’re getting me going. See, this is where you’re getting me going. This is not what we wanted to do here. Here’s the thing, if you work for somebody, do what they do. I mean, it makes me nuts. If you work for someone who has a bigger bank account than you and you want a bigger bank account, just do what they do. It’s ridiculous. Like, example, like clockwork. Every single day, I get up, I make my to-do list. Every single day, I get all my emails down to zero. I always have my inbox at zero. Every day, my inbox has been at zero for like 20 years. It’s always at zero. It’s always at zero. It’s always at zero. And I always have one to-do list, and I write stuff down, and I schedule times for it, and I have one calendar, and I’m very good at delegating. And you know why? Because I went to people who are more successful than me, and I said, how did you do it? And I did that. Then I see these young guys, mostly guys, I’m sure the girls don’t ever do this, you see these young guys and I’m like, what are you doing there? Oh, I’ve got this new time management system I’m using. Really? Yeah. Is it working well? No. You know, why would you try to go out and do a new thing? Right. If you work with somebody, so like Dr. Z, he’s one of the most successful, he’s like the Donald Trump of small business. This guy just gets stuff done. If I want to be successful in this certain area, I just look to him as a source of wisdom because he knows. If I want to learn about time management, I go to Lee Cockerell because he managed Disney World. I mean, if I want to learn about PR, I go to Michael Levine. We don’t want to reinvent the wheel here. So I’m just saying, if you work with somebody right now and you want to be the head of the company, be smart like this guy and look at people who are ahead of you, who are better than you, and go, wow, that person’s very good. This is the CEO saying he’s learning from somebody. He goes, this guy is awesome. He’s the most effective guy he’s ever seen. So he goes, wait a minute, I should probably do what they do. It’s amazing. Final rant, and I’m done here. I’ll see young people who say, I really want to be in charge of this company. I want to run the company. Well, look what time your boss is sending you emails and what time they get to work and try to beat them. If your boss is sending you emails at 4am and getting to work at 6am, you should probably beat them to work if you ever want to, one, meet them. There was a guy years ago, he goes, I want to meet my boss, how do I do it? I said, beat him to work. Because when you beat the boss to work, I guarantee you, you’re the only car in the parking lot. And then you’re going to meet each other. And he’s like, why are you here four hours early? Because I wanted to meet you. I mean just let’s make sure we don’t overthink this. Let’s make sure that we follow a best practice. We’re teaching you specific systems that are proven to work. Clay, I have a shameless confession. Yes. I’ve been using your to-do list as my own for about you know eight months now. Is it effective? Well I know exactly what you expect of me all the time because we operate not from like our own individual to-do list, but from the same one. Exactly, that’s the move though. That’s how you do it. I’m just telling you like it’s just… No, that’s a move. I’m just telling you that’s the thing. It’s just when you see young people like I’m struggling to find a way to organize my time and you’ve told them the system. This is the system. We’re teaching you the system. We’re unlocking the universe here. Let’s go. So we’re talking about the follow-up factor here. And we’re getting started with the to-do list. And we have a training on how to effectively create a to-do list, use a day planner. So if you need to go check out that training, definitely go do that on thrive15.com. And so as we get into it, we’re talking about follow-up. So I’m going to read the definition of follow-up here. You read it, baby. This is the Webster’s. This is the Webster’s. I’m excited. OK. So I’m going to read it. I’m going to give us a little backing, just to make this a little more interesting. Oh wow. So, follow-up, something that continues or completes a process or activity. Okay? Clay, what is this definition of follow-up from your experience? From your experience, what is this definition of follow-up? There’s a certain romance there when you bring in that wham. Yeah. Okay. What you’re doing is, the follow-up is you want to assume that nothing was done if you assume something was done it makes an ass out of you and me the word assume let’s break it apart ask you me ask you me when you assume it makes an ass out of you and me but when you when you assume when you when you say I know it I assume it wasn’t done. When you do what Ronald Reagan said, Ronald Reagan says, trust but verify. Other leaders say, you can only expect what you inspect, right, or you can only expect what you accept. So if you accept something, then you have to expect that to be the normal. You just have to make sure you follow up. In the Marriott book, it’s the book written by the founder of Marriott, we can put that on the screen here, the founder of Marriott, he wrote his book about how to be a customer service wizard, how he built Marriott. The first page of the book, you open it up and it has the Chinese proverb, it says, don’t hear, go see. If you’re going to verify the hotel room is clean, as a manager, you have to actually go in and verify it. You’ve got to have that mindset. And then so many people say, well, I just want my people to know I can trust them. Because you’re weird! Stop! If you assign me something and you don’t follow up, I think you don’t care. And furthermore, I’m going to not even do it over time. If I know that you’ll never follow up, pretty soon almost everybody in the world without accountability starts to slip. That’s why you see huge, very successful, let’s say pastors, managers, coaches, musicians, they have unbelievable success. And then they get to a certain status and they start to block out accountability. And then they fail. It’s not about a hypocrisy and religion thing. It’s not about a hypocrisy and a baseball manager gone bad. It’s not that the pop singer is a bad person. There’s no accountability. Where there is no accountability, things don’t happen. You have to follow up. Okay, so follow up and we have three steps for following up effectively and Clay we’re gonna get into them. Step number one, you must verify that communication has occurred. Step number two, you must teach why and how the task must be completed. Step number three, you must relentlessly inspect and follow up on what you expect. Okay, so we’re gonna get into these three. Step number one, you must verify that communication has occurred. And so what is this? What really are we talking about here? This is my Achilles heel. This is the one that I struggle with the most. Is because I’ve read so many books and I read so many books. Like this weekend I’m reading. That’s what I do. I have downtime, I’m reading. And when I wasn’t reading, I did so much I forget about it. But like this weekend I’m studying a ton of search engine related stuff. In addition to that, I’m listening to audio books right now by Tony Robbins. There’s a couple things he teaches right now I really love. It’s some of his financial principles. And I’m also learning about Carl Icahn and some of his investment strategies. And I’m also learning about Warren Buffett. So these are all, when I’m driving, I’m listening. When I’m sitting down, I’m reading. So I will say something like, hey, be greedy when the market, be greedy when people are fearful. And so when the person I’m talking to is like, did he just promote greed? You know, because I said, hey, just be greedy. So a young guy will come to me and say, hey, should I invest in this property? And I’ll say, you need to be greedy when people are fearful. When the market is fearful, be greedy. And I’ll say it because to me, that’s the answer. The answer is, yeah, when the market’s struggling and this one is a desperate situation that’s a great time to buy a house. So when someone is in a foreclosure that’s the best time to buy the house because you’re buying it for the lowest possible price but the value is still there. Anyway I would assume that the young man has read Warren Buffett but they have it so I just make the statement assuming that they know what I was saying. So now as I’ve matured through my career a little bit more now what I do is I’ll say hey be greedy when the market’s fearful and then I’ll check myself, and I’m like, do you know what that means? And the young guy will say, no, no, I don’t. And I’m like, oh, OK. Well, Warren Buffett, in his book, Snowball, teaches you his financial principles. And one of them is to be greedy when the market is fearful. So what you want to do is you want to be fearful when the market’s greedy. When people are all buying, buying, buying, buying, you want to be kind of scared because you know that the collapse is near. And when the market’s at the bottom, that’s the best time to buy. And they’re like, oh. So you have to verify that communication has occurred, that both parties understand the task. So if you said, I need you to make sure you go to the store and buy cups, I did this week for a young guy, I said, hey, or a young lady, I said, you need to go buy cups. That’s not a good statement. What kind of cups? Are we buying chalices? Are we buying some chalices for a Snoop Dogg concert? Are we buying expensive cups, cheap cups, red cups, red solo cups, are we buying plastic cups, are we buying throwaway cups, keep, set to define, buy disposable coffee cups from the company called such and such. When I put that, oh, now communication has occurred. That reminds me of the quote that I often hear, and it says this, where clear communication begins, frustration ends on the ear of the listener. Do it again. Do it again. Where clear communication begins, frustration will end on the ear of the listener. That’s what my mentors used to tell me. Boom! Unbelievable. That was hot sauce right there. Wow! That’s a Jose Miranda original because I added a few things to that. Are you from Puerto Rico originally? 100% Boricua. Yeah, and so, you know, I would like that, yes. No, but seriously. With cheese? No, but you’re from Puerto Rico, though, right? Yes, sir. That was awesome. That was like a Puerto Rican poet moment right there. That was awesome. We need to sell some music there, you know? Yeah, we’ll keep moving, but that was incredible. I’m going to marinate on that for a few weeks. Thank you. Step number two, you must teach why and how the task must be completed. Clay, I’m gonna break this down with another notable quotable from our man David Novak, the CEO of Yum! Brands. Execution begins with a vision and your people saying, I understand it, I’m excited about it, and I can help make it happen. Clay, break down why and how the task must be completed. Why is that an important step of the process? I’m going back to the coffee cups because this is a specific example that thrivers need to know that we can all benefit from. On the coffee cups, again, first I said, I need you to buy coffee cups. And the young lady’s like, okay, I’ll buy coffee cups. But she comes back with cups that are crazy small because they’re cheaper. Because I did a poor job of communicating what kind of cup and what they’re, had I done this properly, okay, I would have said, and you save yourself so much frustration when you do this. You take the extra 30 seconds and you go, buy this brand of coffee cups from this store, they’re disposable, and buy this size. And by doing that, we would have prevented frustration, but because I did not do it, I was in a hurry. So this lady comes back with these cups that are small, we’re talking like crazy small. If you’ve seen those cups, it’s a… Like medicine cups. It’s a testimony. It’s a testament to Jackassery. It’s what it is It’s a and what happens is you you mean you when you make the coffee you hit the button on the coffee machine on the Keurig and someone’s going aren’t they doing recalls? Are you trying to kill all your people? Yeah? No, anyway, but the point is so we’re making this coffee and you hit the coffee button Have you had this happen when you yeah, have you done this with a small cup yet? Yeah, it’s it’s crazy Did you burn your hand? Did you see that happen? Yeah, I’m going to report that to HR. That’s secretly my fault. So what you do though is you hit the button and it just overflows on every person’s hands. Now the first customer, one of our consulting clients, these are people that I hold in high regard. My consulting clients are people that we want to help and we want to bless them. We don’t want to burn their hands. So this guy’s like, hey, how does this machine work? I say, you flip the switch on the back. Okay, cool. Making this coffee. And he’s like, ow, ow. And I’m like, what happened? He’s like, dude, this cup’s too small. And I’m like, what are you doing, budget cuts around here? Next thing you know, we have just a mass level. We’ve scaled the fail. Now all the cups are wrong. Everyone’s burning their hands. And no one had said something to me. And so I was like, hey, how often has this happened? Long story short, I discovered that due to my lack of clarity, again, one, that would have explained what needs to be done and verified the person knew, and then two, explained why. Why are we buying these cups? We’re buying these to serve our customers who are people from all over the world traveling here for consulting, and they don’t care about paying the extra 10 cents needed. And they furthermore, they’re thinking, if I’m paying you guys to help me and you can’t afford a cup that’s the right size, are you an idiot? I mean, so I should have explained why. Once people, you understand why, the people get excited about it. They go, oh wow, so we’re buying cups that are going to be put into the hands of high paying, high level, hard working, diligent people that we love. Wow, I should probably buy a good coffee cup at the right size. So that way, so if they understand the purpose of the cups is so that it’s for the clients, so that’s probably not something that we need to cut corners on. Right. So understanding, beginning with the end in mind, you understand the why, explaining that to the employee. If we have to cut corners, I mean, you can buy me the crappiest, smallest cups, and I’ll just kind of reuse someone else’s cup. I’m kind of a man-bear pig. I can rough it, you know what I mean? I got you an early birthday gift in there really crappy, small coffee cups. Thank you. I would expect nothing more from you. Step number three, you must relentlessly inspect and follow up on what you expect. Okay, so I’m gonna break this down. I use the word relentlessly. Clay, I wanna break that down. Relentlessly continuing without becoming weaker, less severe, et cetera, remaining strict or determined. Clay, why is relentlessly inspecting what you expect so important? Well, this is huge. This is huge. This is the thing, I don’t get it, I do not get it, I do not understand it, I wanna help you, I want to come together and come against this issue. There’s a lot of people that, what they’ll do is, this just happened this morning, so this is fresh right now, I need to let it go. I’m coming, okay, I’m calm now. Yeah, I’m just telling you, I need to let this go, but here’s the deal, I asked somebody to get a task done, and then the next week, it wasn’t done, and I asked them, why wasn’t it done and they brought up a series of issues. You know weather timing Travel holidays, whatever when I come back the second time, and I’m like hey is it done I don’t care about the weather, and I don’t care about the calamities. I don’t care about I don’t care I care about getting it done preach brother and simply because it’s been two weeks Doesn’t mean that’s become less of a priority for me. People always say, oh, I didn’t know it was a priority. What are you talking about? If I decided it needed to be done two weeks ago, it needed to be done. I don’t care if you’re upset about it. I don’t care about the weather. I don’t care about the holidays. Well. So what happens is, things get done because the less, the more resistance I run into, I don’t actually get weaker. I tend to get stronger and more passionate. So now it becomes a deal where I am literally there talking to somebody on the day after Christmas and I’m going, this has to be done. This has to be done. And I want it to be done by this date. And I’m tired. I didn’t know it was a priority. It is a priority because you haven’t got it done. I’ve now grown more fierce and more strong and more resolved. And you go, what are we talking about? Is it just one item? No. This is the genetic makeup of a successful entrepreneur. Now, the good thing is you can code your own DNA here. You can kind of make it happen, but you’ve got to decide, do you become weaker because you followed up three times and nothing got done, or do you become stronger? And I will tell you, the top entrepreneurs are relentless. They become stronger and stronger the more resistance they run into. And there’s some entrepreneurs that I run into as well, Clay, that at times they’re in fear, and Marshall, of being a micromanager. I don’t want to be a dictator. Well, you know what? At times, you’ve got to be strong. You’ve got to call it the way it is because, in essence, it’s your company. Yeah, and no one’s going to, I mean, Dr. Z said this in one of our most of our, one of our recent trainings, it was fabulous. He was talking about, it was one of our trainings about raising capital. And it was about seven examples of billionaires who’ve struggled to raise capital and have success. And what he talks about is that no one’s going to care more than you, or even as much as you, about anything. Right, right, right. It’s like right now, I’m just telling you, I’m getting my man room added on. And I’ll tell you what, we might do a training from the man room when it’s done. No, I’m not. That’s going on the record. We’re doing it. But here’s the thing is, I’m building this thing, you know, and it’s going to have barnwood everywhere and Edison bulbs, and it’s going to have workout equipment. It’s like one half, it’s just all workout stuff. We’re about this size just put this, you know It’s like a place where like big perm from what’s that show? What’s it was a movie that Friday? Big perm, you know, I’m the ice-cold movie, you know, he’s at working out doing bench press on his lawn Sure, you know It’s like it’s gonna be like that place where you can just lift weights and throw it’s me awesome And then the other part of it is like an office. I can’t tell you how much adversity I’ve run into building it. Whether it’s coding or it’s the contractor that you pay and he disappeared. Now we’ve got a great company called Dunrite Plumbing who’s knocking it out. These guys are on fire. You should check out Dunrite Plumbing. It’s in the Tulsa area. These guys are awesome. But before that, we just had some real jackassery. And you know what? I don’t get less resolved because the other people weren’t getting it done. I get more resolved. In fact, I’m like, screw your company. I’m going to get another company, I’m going to build it better than it would have been before, because now I’m on fire with enthusiasm because it’s taken me so much rejection to get this room built. Come against any type of rejection with relentless enthusiasm. You have to double your aggression and your enthusiasm for an idea the longer that it takes to push through. You have to double it. I mean, become exponentially. These people, final example, these people who changed the world, let us not forget that Abraham Lincoln lost numerous elections. We’ll put up on the screen all the elections he lost here. And when he decided that people should be judged, not based on their skin color, but based on what they do, when he decided to put together that thing called the Emancipation Proclamation, when he decides to say, we’re gonna change some things, when he says we’re gonna do some things differently, we’re gonna go ahead and free a group of people who have never been freed let me tell you the rejection he ran into people said what are they gonna do I mean these people have been slaves forever I mean how are they gonna be able to find a job that was the front was the big argument these people who are compassionate they weren’t compassion they were actually secret races but they’re like what are they gonna do like they’ve never had a job are they gonna be able to make it and then it became and are they gonna have to like hang out with our kids and then it became like, well, what if these people really prefer slavery? And then it became, well, I don’t know, how would America make it? And then it was, well, what if we had to go to war? I mean, people would go to, we would have to fight a war to end slavery. I mean, is it worth all the people we would have to kill to free these people? Is it worth it? And then his wife, if you look it up, his wife was not actually in support of this whole thing. Imagine, you’re entering our country, you’re deciding that if we’re going to free African Americans, one, we have to kill a ton of Caucasians to do it through a war, and two, your wife doesn’t want you to do it. I mean, imagine that kind of, and when you think about tenacity, let’s talk about that kind of tenacity. None of this like, I sent her three emails and she didn’t respond. I’ll give you one final example, because it’s the final, final, final. This week, there was somebody who refused to transfer the domain for one of my clients, just through passive aggressiveness. This client’s paying $600 a month to have their website hosted by this idiot. And it should be like 15 bucks a month. And the guy was like, well, I’m trying to get the DNS hosting server code, I’m trying to get the protocol, I’m trying to make sure your site doesn’t, are you aware of how to administer your site? And they’re given all these reasons why they can’t transfer it. And then there’s been no, nothing’s done. And I looked at my to-do list, I discovered that today was the day it was supposed to have been done. Like it was supposed to have been done yesterday and today is the day that I’m gonna freak out. So what I did is I sent an email to everyone involved, the customer, this web hosting company, I said, I’m just following up to make sure that the website gets transferred over today, right? And then I hit send. And then I hit send again, and I hit send again, and I hit send again, and I probably sent it like not 30 times, but maybe 40. And then I called while I was doing it, so I’m hitting send while I’m calling in my car. And then I re-sent the same text, and I said, I don’t know what happened with my phone, but it looks like I might have sent you 120 pieces of communication. Could you make it, could you fix it so I can stop? Nice. And the guy right away, boop boop boop boop calls, hey man, you’ve sent me like 120 messages. Get off me. And I’m like, I am sorry, I don’t know how it happened, but I’m sure it’ll keep happening if you don’t fix it. You know? And that’s how I get stuff done all the time. I mean, literally all the time. That’s how I get stuff done. I’m just, I’m not going to be patient with an idiot. I’m just not going to. I’m going to be relentless about it. You’ve got to be relentless. If you’re going to try to end slavery, start a business, grow a business, get something done. If you don’t want to get something done, go work for a business that doesn’t want to get something done. Those are usually businesses that are going to fail soon, but at least you’ll have some security in that company you work with. Yeah, low pay, pretty good security until they lay everybody off. Clay, I want to recap all of these different steps here for the follow-up. Step number one, you must verify that communication has occurred. So Thrivers, the nugget to take away here is communication has not occurred until both parties clearly understand what was communicated. Ask your person, do you understand what I said? Just ask them, do you understand that? Step number two, you must teach why and how the task must be completed. So as you’re coming away from this, the nugget for you is your team members will be exponentially less likely to execute a game plan if they do not believe and understand it fully. Okay, so you got to make sure that they understand it. Oh my gosh, like SEO is an example, search engine optimization, trying to motivate somebody to write articles and explain to them that the content has to be original. They’re writing articles that no one’s ever going to read to make a website come up top in Google because Google indexes the amount of words you have and the words have to be quality words and they have to be original content. So if I hire you to write search engine content for me, if you don’t understand that the article that you’re writing that no one will ever read is the most important thing in the world, you won’t want to do it. And if you don’t understand that it can’t be duplicated, it can’t be duplicate content, people tend to take shortcuts. But if I explain, hey, by you doing this and writing this content, the spine surgeon, who’s one of the finest spine surgeons in the state, will be top in Google, which will allow his family to earn more money, which will allow somebody to end their spinal pain finally, which will – I mean, all these things are going to happen as a result of you not copying text and staying focused. Okay. Wow. So they have to understand it fully. Yep. Step number three, you must relentlessly inspect and follow up on what you expect. So for all the Thrivers, the takeaway, the nugget here for them is no weak follow-up, no follow-up, and anything less than relentless follow-up will produce predictably terrible results. Yeah, exactly. And that’s why I’m always following up with you and your dating life. Thank you. Because first off, we’ve decided what needs to be done. We need to be dating virtuous women, right? Proverbs 31. Yeah, and then why? Why? Because he who finds a good wife has a good life. And gets favor from the Lord. Napoleon Hill talks about one of the biggest reasons for failure is men when they choose the wrong spouse. So a lot of times you have to find the right one. And then the third is you kind of go in and you relentlessly inspect. The Thrivers and I, we are just saying we’re only sending dating tips to you at info at Thrive15.com because we care. And caring is sharing. We want you to find, we want to have thousands of people at your wedding. I can see it now, Thrivers. Thousands of us. Can I get my music please? Well, come on somebody. I can see it. We’re going to take you out in 30 seconds. I can see this. Work with me, Thrivers. Here we go. I can see it. We’re going to have a thousand people, maybe thousands, thousands of people, who all gather around at one sanctimonious and hallowed place to celebrate your wedding come on thousands of people who do not know you but they’ve sent you dating tips all gathering potentially will even have to get a stadium like a Donald Trump speech I can officiate it I’ve done thousands of weddings already literally he can do it he can officiate and in Spanish drivers you can be there and so drivers with that note whoa whoa what drivers that know we’re gonna peace out but Marsha will not get married unless you’re prepared to follow up. Send those emails, send those dating tips, send them now, send them now all across the planet. Boom. Thrivers, thank you so much. We’ll talk to you next time. JT, do you know what time it is? Um, 410. It’s TiVo time in Tulsa, Roseland, baby. Tim TiVo is coming to Tulsa, Oklahoma, June 27th and 28th. We’ve been doing business conferences here since 2005. I’ve been hosting business conferences since 2005. What year is that? I’m not sure. I’m not sure. I’m not sure. I’ve been doing business conferences here since 2005. I’ve been hosting business conferences since 2005. What year were you born? 1995. Dude, I’ve been hosting business conferences since you were 10 years old, but I’ve never had the two-time Heisman Award winning Tim Tebow come present. And a lot of people have followed Tim Tebow’s football career on the field and off the field. And off the field, the guy’s been just as successful Now, the big question is, JT, how does he do it? Well, they’re going to have to come and find out, because I don’t know. Well, I’m just saying, Tim Tebow is going to teach us how he organizes his day, how he organizes his life, how he’s proactive with his faith, his family, his finances. He’s going to walk us through his mindset that he brings into the gym, into business. It is going to be a blasty blast in Tulsa, Russia. Also, this is the first Thrive Time Show event that we’ve had where we’re going to have a man who has built a $100 million net worth. Wow. We’ve had a couple of presenters that have had a billion dollar net worth in some real estate sort of things. But this is the first time we’ve had a guy who’s built a service business, and he’s built over $100 million net worth in the service business. It’s the yacht driving, multi-state living guru of franchising. Peter Taunton will be in the house. This is the founder of Snap Fitness, the guy behind Nine Round Boxing. He’s going to be here in Tulsa, Oklahoma, June 27th and 28th. JT, why should everybody want to hear what Peter Taunton has to say? Oh, because he’s incredible. He’s just a fountain of knowledge. He is awesome. He’s inspired me listening to him talk and not only that he also has he practices what he teaches so he’s a real teacher he’s not a fake teacher like business school teachers so you got to come learn from him. Also let me tell you this folks I don’t get this wrong because if I get it wrong someone’s gonna say you screwed that up buddy. So Michael Levine this is Michael Levine he’s gonna be coming you say who’s Michael Levine I don’t get this wrong this is the PR consultant of choice for Michael Jackson, for Prince, for Nike, for Charlton Heston, for Nancy Kerrigan. This is Michael Levine, a good friend of mine. He’s going to come and talk to you about personal branding and the mindset needed to be super successful. The lineup will continue to grow. We have hit Christian reporting artist Colton Dixon in the house. Now people say, Colton Dixon’s in the house? Yes! Colton Dixon’s in the house. JT, you’re in the process of building a super successful company. You started out with a million dollars in the bank account? No, I did not. Nope, did not get any loans, nothing like that. Did not get an inheritance from parents, anything like that. I had to work for it. And I am super grateful I came to a business conference. That’s actually how I met you, met Peter Taunton, I met all these people. So if you’re out there today and you want to come to our workshop, again, you just got to go to thrivetimeshow.com. You can look inside, see the facility. We’re going to have hundreds of entrepreneurs here. It is going to be packed. Thrive Time Show two-day interactive business workshops are the world’s highest rated and most reviewed business workshops because we teach you what you need to know to grow. You can learn the proven 13-point business systems that Dr. Zellner and I have used over and over to start and grow successful companies. We get into the specifics, the specific steps on what you need to do to optimize your website. We’re going to teach you how to fix your conversion rate. We’re going to teach you how to do a social media marketing campaign that works. How do you raise capital? How do you get a small business loan? We teach you everything you need to know here during a two-day, 15-hour workshop. It’s all here for you. You work every day in your business, but for two days you can escape and work on your business and build these proven systems so now you can have a successful company that will produce both the time freedom and the financial freedom that you deserve. You’re going to leave energized, motivated, but you’re also going to leave empowered. The reason why I built these workshops is because as an entrepreneur, I always wish that I had this. And because there wasn’t anything like this, I would go to these motivational seminars, no money down, real estate, Ponzi scheme, get motivated seminars, and they would never teach me anything. It was like you went there and you paid for the edific chocolate Easter bunny, but inside of it, it was a hollow nothingness. And I wanted the knowledge, and they’re like, oh, but we’ll teach you the knowledge after our next workshop. And the great thing is we have nothing to upsell. At every workshop, we teach you what you need to know. There’s no one in the back of the room trying to sell you some next big get-rich-quick, walk-on-hot-coals product. It’s literally, we teach you the brass tacks, the specific stuff that you need to know to learn how to start and grow a business. I encourage you to not believe what I’m saying, and I want you to Google the Z66 auto auction. I want you to Google elephant in the room. Look at Robert Zellner and Associates. Look them up and say, are they successful because they’re geniuses, or are they successful because they have a proven system? When you do that research, you will discover that the same system that we use in our own business can be used in your business. Come to Tulsa, book a ticket, and I guarantee you it’s going to be the best business workshop ever and we’re going to give you your money back if you don’t love it. We’ve built this facility for you and we’re excited to see it. And now you may be thinking, what does it actually cost to attend an in-person two-day interactive Thrive Time Show business workshop? Well, good news, the tickets are $250 or whatever price that you can afford. What? Yes, they’re $250 or whatever price you can afford. I grew up without money and I know what it’s like to live without money, so if you’re out there today and you want to attend our in-person, two-day interactive business workshop, all you’ve got to do is go to Thrivetimeshow.com to request those tickets. And if you can’t afford $250, we have scholarship pricing available to make it affordable for you. I learned at the Academy at King’s Point in New York, acta non verba. Watch what a person does, not what they say. Good morning, good morning, good morning. Harvard Kiyosaki, The Rich Dad Radio Show. Today I’m broadcasting from Phoenix, Arizona, not Scottsdale, Arizona. They’re close, but they’re completely different worlds. and we have a special guest today. Definition of intelligence is if you agree with me, you’re intelligent. And so this gentleman is very intelligent. I’ve done this show before also, but very seldom do you find somebody who lines up on all counts. As Mr. Clay Clark is a friend of a good friend, Eric Trump, but we’re also talking about money, bricks, and how screwed up the world can get in a few and a half hour. So Clay Clark is a very intelligent man, and there’s so many ways we could take this thing. But I thought, since you and Eric are close, Trump, what were you saying about what Trump can’t, what Donald, who’s my age, and I can say or cannot say? First of all, I have to honor you, sir. I wanna show you what I did to one of your books here. There’s a guy named Jeremy Thorn, who was my boss at the time. I was 19 years old, working at Faith Highway. I had a job at Applebee’s, Target, and DirecTV. And he said, have you read this book, Rich Dad, Poor Dad? And I said, no. And my father, may he rest in peace, he didn’t know these financial principles. So I started reading all of your books and really devouring your books. And I went from being an employee to self-employed to the business owner to the investor and I owe a lot of that to you and I just want to take a moment to tell you thank you so much for allowing me to achieve success and I’ll tell you all about Eric Trump I just want to tell you thank you sir for changing my life. Well not only that Clay, you know thank you but you’ve become an influencer. You know more than anything else you’ve evolved into an influencer where your word has more and more power. So that’s why I congratulate you on becoming. Because as you know, there’s a lot of fake influencers out there too, or bad influencers. Yeah. Anyway, I’m glad you and I agree so much and thanks for reading my books. Yeah. That’s the greatest thrill for me today. Not a thrill, but recognition is when people, young men especially, come up and say, I read your book, changed my life, I’m doing this, I’m doing this, I’m doing this. I learned at the Academy at Kings Point in New York, acta non verba. Watch what a person does, not what they say. Hey, I’m Ryan Wimpey. I’m originally from Tulsa, born and raised here. I went to a small private liberal arts college and got a degree in business and I didn’t learn anything like they’re teaching here. I didn’t learn linear workflows. I learned stuff that I’m not using and I haven’t been using for the last nine years. So what they’re teaching here is actually way better than what I got at business school. And I went what was actually ranked as a very good business school. The linear workflow, the linear workflow for us in getting everything out on paper and documented is really important. We have workflows that are kind of all over the place. Having linear workflow and seeing that mapped out on multiple different boards is pretty awesome. That’s really helpful for me. The atmosphere here is awesome. I definitely just stared at the walls figuring out how to make my facility look like this place. This place rocks. It’s invigorating. The walls are super, it’s just very cool. The atmosphere is cool. The people are nice. It’s a pretty cool place to be. Very good learning atmosphere. I literally want to model it and steal everything that’s here at this facility and basically create it just on our business side. Once I saw what they were doing, I knew I had to get here at the conference. This is probably the best conference or seminar I’ve ever been to in over 30 years of business. You’re not bored. You’re awake and alive the whole time. It’s not pushy. It’ll try to sell you a bunch of things. I was looking to learn how to just get control of my life, my schedule, and just get control of business. Planning your time, breaking it all down, making time for the F6 in your life, and just really implementing it and sticking with the program. It’s really lively. He’s pretty friendly, helpful, and very welcoming. I attended a conference a couple months back and it was really the best business conference I’ve ever attended. At the workshop I learned a lot about time management, really prioritizing what’s the most important. The biggest takeaways are you want to take a step-by-step approach to your business, whether it’s marketing, what are those three marketing tools that you want to use, to human resources. Some of the most successful people and successful businesses in this town, their owners were here today because they wanted to know more from Clay and I found that to be kind of fascinating. The most valuable thing that I’ve learned is diligence. That businesses don’t change overnight. It takes time and effort and you’ve got to go through the ups and downs of getting it to where you want to go. He actually gives you the road map out. I was stuck, didn’t know what to do, and he gave me the road map out step by step. We’ve set up systems in the business that make my life much easier, allow me some time freedom. Here you can ask any question you want, they guarantee it’ll be answered. This conference motivates me and also gives me a lot of knowledge and tools. It’s up to you to do it. Everybody can do these things. There’s stuff that everybody knows, but if you don’t do it, nobody else is going to do it for you. I can see the marketing working. It’s just an approach that makes sense. Probably the most notable thing is just the income increase that we’ve had. Everyone’s super fun and super motivating. I’ve been here before, but I’m back again because it motivates me. Your competition is going to come eventually or try to pick up these tactics. So you better, if you don’t, somebody else will. I’m Rachel with Tip Top K9 and we just want to give a huge thank you to Clay and Vanessa Clark. Hey guys, I’m Ryan with Tip Top K9. Just want to say a big thank you to Thrive 15. Thank you to Make Your Life Epic. We love you guys, we appreciate you and really just appreciate how far you’ve taken us. This is our old house. This is where we used to live years ago. This is our old neighborhood. See? It’s nice, right? So this is my old van and our old school marketing. And this is our old team. And by team I mean it’s me and another guy. This is our new van with our new marketing, and this is our new team. We went from four to 14, and I took this vehicle photo. We worked with several different business coaches in the past, and they were all about helping Ryan sell better and just teaching sales, which is awesome, but Ryan is a really great salesman, so we didn’t need that. We needed somebody to help us get everything that was in his head out into systems, into manuals and scripts and actually build a team. So now that we have systems in place, we’ve gone from one to 10 locations in only a year. In October 2016, we grossed 13 grand for the whole month. Right now it’s 2018, the month of October. It’s only the 22nd. We’ve already grossed a little over 50 grand for the whole month and we still have time to go. We’re just thankful for you, thankful for Thrive and your mentorship and we’re really thankful that you guys have helped us to grow a business that we run now instead of the business running us. Just thank you, thank you, thank you, times a thousand. So we really just wanna thank you, Clay, and thank you, Vanessa, for everything you’ve done, everything you’ve helped us with. We love you guys. If you decide to not attend the ThriveCon workshop, you’re missing out on a great opportunity. The Atmosphere Place office is very lively. You can feel the energy as soon as you walk If you decide not to come, you’re missing out on an opportunity to grow your business, bottom line. I love the environment. I love the way that Clay presents and teaches. It’s a way that not only allows me to comprehend what’s going on, but he explains it in a way to where it just makes sense. The SEO optimization, branding, marketing, I’ve learned more in the last two days that I have, the entire four years of college. The most valuable thing that I’ve learned, marketing is key. Marketing is everything. Making sure that you’re branded accurately and clearly. How to grow a business using Google reviews and then just how to optimize our name through our website also. Helpful with a lot of marketing, search engine optimization, helping us really rank high in Google. The biggest thing I needed to learn was how to build my foundation, how to systemize everything and optimize everything, build my SEO. How to become more organized, more efficient. How to make sure the business is really there to serve me as opposed to me constantly being there for the business. New ways of advertising my business, as well as recruiting new employees. Group interviews, number one. Before, we felt like we were held hostage by our employees. Group interviews has completely eliminated that, because you’re able to really find the people that would really be the best fit. Hands-on how to hire people, how to deal with human resources, a lot about marketing, and overall, just how to structure the business, how it works for me, and also then how that can translate into working better for my clients. The most valuable thing I’ve learned here is time management. I like the one hour of doing your business. It’s real critical if I’m going to grow and change. Play really teaches you how to navigate through those things and not only find freedom, but find your purpose in your business and find the purpose for all those other people that directly affect your business as well. Everybody. Everybody. Everyone. Everyone directly affect your business as well. Everybody. Everybody. Everyone. Everyone needs to attend the conference because you get opportunity to see that it’s real.
