Get ready to enter the Thrivetime Show! We started from the bottom, now we’re here. We started from the bottom and we’ll show you how to get here. We started from the bottom, now we’re here. We started from the bottom, now we’re here. We started from the bottom, now we’re on the top. Teaching you the systems to get what we got. Cullen Dixon’s on the hooks, I’ve written the books. He’s bringing some wisdom and the good looks. As the father of five, that’s where I’mma dive. So if you see my wife and kids, please tell them hi. It’s C and Z up on your radio. And now three, two, one, here we go. We started from the bottom, now we in. Started from the bottom, and that’s what we gotta do. All right, Thrivers, we are here today with the world’s best business coach in the world, Clay Clark. Boom. Thank you for being here. We are going through the book, Start Here. And we’re in section 3.2 which has a really interesting title. It says, what if you were abducted by aliens for 30 days? Okay, it sounds a little crazy. Yeah, well you know, the thing is when you own a business, the point of building a business is you have two main goals. One is to build financial freedom and two is to build time freedom. Okay, now in a perfect world where there are unicorns and leprechauns Yes, you would want to also make your passion the source of your profits. Yes. Yeah, so I’m gonna give an example of that of that that is Of not doing that in an example of doing that so an example of doing that would be like one of my clients He’s a photographer. Mm-hmm. Very very good Okay guy makes about a hundred thousand a year or more doing photography loves it nice it’s his passion sweet he also makes profits it works together that’s right and it’s proper guess what though what he does not have time freedom because he’s the one who has to do all the photos yeah and he does not have financial freedom because if you were ever take a week off he doesn’t get paid gotcha bummer now the other example of that is I’m a part owner of a men’s grooming lounge yes and called elephant in the room and it makes good money, so we have good financial freedom. And we have good time freedom. But I don’t like haircuts. Yeah, you don’t have to cut any hair. Right, so it’s not my passion zone. I’m not going, oh my gosh. I don’t look at men and go, if I could just, if you would just let me do this and that, oh wow, he’d be beautiful. But you know what, my brother-in-law, who owns the business, he’s the founder, he says, I want to get a man bun. Yeah, I saw him today, and I did a double take. You saw the man bun? In the beginning. He’s kind of like a ninja. But he loves hair. Yes. So the trifecta is that if you are doing something you’re passionate about and you have time freedom and financial freedom, that’s the trifecta. Winning. Almost no one ever does that. But if you do that, you get to hit this button because you just won life’s lotto there. Bonus points. That’s awesome. So if you’re abducted by aliens, what we’re saying is, if you build a business and you were abducted by aliens for like a week and your business completely fell apart because you were gone for five business days, you don’t really have a very good business. Okay, wow. You know what I’m saying? If you want to build a business, or a shark, you could… So my brother-in-law, I’ve been working with him on this, and it was tough because he loves hair. Yes. He says, I want to cut the hair. Yeah, you know, like that guy from Mr. Deeds the movie. Yes. Yes, please let me touch your feet. He’s like that with men’s hair. With the hair. Please let me touch your hair. I want to touch the hair. So what we did is we built a system where now he can be gone for a week, two weeks. In fact, it’s all secret. He hasn’t cut anyone’s hair for a couple weeks at all. Oh, wow. So now he’s no longer even in the shop. Now I’m working with, hey, you can, it’s hard because he loves it so much. But now he could be, he could literally, right now I could say this, he could be gone for 30 days, totally gone and not answer the single phone call, single email, single voicemail and not make any less money than he’s making now. Nice. At all. Nice. So how long does it take to get to that point? Because obviously you have to work and build the business. It took us to build that for him almost three years. And I know that because when he got married, he said, I need to leave for the honeymoon. And there was this whole like, oh no, what am I going to do? Because I’ve never been gone. And so that forces the question, well, what do you need to do? And he goes, well, I need to tell this man to do this, this person to do that. No one knows where the business cards are located. And so the entirety of his trip, he had to do all this work ahead of time so he could be gone. Gotcha. Now, because everyone knows everything’s saved, the file nomenclature’s correct, all the systems are documented, the scripts are in place, the website’s being optimized, now he can be gone. So I would just say for him, it took almost three years. And that’s not abnormal or weird. Right, that’s normal. Yeah, and for those of you who like to read such books as, you know, how Walt Disney became successful or content about this, there’s biographies out there about Walt Disney, there’s biographies out there about the guy who started Twitter, there’s biographies. But guess what? Twitter started as a company called Odeo, O-D-E-O, and from the time they started until they became profitable. We’ll put up on the screen. We’ll put the stat here. That sounds like yodeling. Odeo! Yeah. Well, a lot of people didn’t know that Odeo was a company. I don’t want to make up the stat. We’ll put it on the screen. Right. But it took Twitter, not like days or weeks, it took them years to get to that system. It took Walt Disney years to get to that system. I guess they’re some of the most successful people in the world. Spanx. Yes. We’ll put the graphic up here. Sarah Blakely. It took her years. So don’t feel like you’re an idiot because it takes years. Just understand it will take you years. It’ll take you lifetimes if you don’t follow a system. Okay, so why do you think, this is just off the cuff here, why do you think people get stuck in thinking, you know, I don’t need any systems, it’s just going to require my hard work. What do you think happens? Because everybody wants, I think, that time freedom and financial freedom, but what happens when you use that? Do you want the real answer? I want the real answer. Because a lot of times I feel like if I give the real answer, then we have to edit it out. Keep it real. Keep it real. Okay, here’s the deal. People, as a general rule, entrepreneurs, I’d say 90% of the people who are learning right now, we could fall into one of these buckets. One is we’re either disorganized. All of our files are secretly saved on our laptops. We’re saving files. We don’t know where they’re saved. People say, where are the business cards? We don’t know. Nobody knows. That’s the whole secret. This organization. Okay. The second is we’re distracted. So we go, I call this the 3D, by the way, 3D. So you go, I got this new business idea. I have this new idea. Have you met this person before? I have. They always have a new idea. I could be a plumber. And you go, you should be a plumber. Then the next week, I should sell insurance. They’re just seeing opportunities. So you’re kind of distracted. And some people think that’s neat to be that way, to have all these ideas. But you’re saying, no, you’re distracted. You need some focus in your life. Yeah, three is they’re disorganized. And three, I hate to say this, they’re dysfunctional, which means that they can’t help but to ruin relationships. They can’t help but get kind of Debbie Downer, Mr. Gossip, they kind of blow up their own companies all the time just because they’re emotionally not able to. But what we can do here, Thrivers, is we can put our head down, focus on building duplicatable and replicatable business systems that are capable of working without you so that you could be abducted by aliens for 30 days and your business would run without you and that’s how you know you say how do I know when I’m successful? In my mind you’re successful when you can disappear for 30 days and your income is not affected or impacted. We have a notable quotable here and it says if you are willing to do only what’s easy life will be hard but if you’re willing to do what’s hard life will be easy. And that’s by T. Harv Eker, who’s the best-selling author of Secrets of the Millionaire Mind. So it’s tying into what you’re saying. You’re gonna have to put that hard work in and that effort in to find your success. And I will say this just briefly. If you get into Proverbs, which I know is something that people don’t believe in the Bible, that’s fine, but Proverbs 10, 4 talks about God blesses the hand of the diligent and therefore punishes the slackered. If you read the whole verse, people hate that part about punishing the slackered. But I will just say, if you don’t like that, Elon Musk has a fabulous quote where he says you just have to work like H-E double hockey sticks. You’ve got to put in that work to be successful. So let’s just make sure we’re putting in the right work. Because again, if it’s misguided, it’s like you’re on a boat headed to, you want to get to the island, but you don’t have a compass and you don’t know where you’re going and you’re just spinning in circles. That’s what we intend to do here on Thrive15.com, through either workshops or these trainings. That’s how we want to do it. To help you get to the island. We also have the 30-day alien abduction test. You can take it on our website. It’s www.thrive15.com slash 30-day alien abduction test. And we’ll have that up on the screen so you can kind of test and see where you are. And I will tell you this, almost everyone who’s ever taken this test, even me, what do you mean I thought you’re the teacher? Everyone who’s taken this test always says, they always say this, almost every single time, they say, oh no. And they leave feeling kind of psychologically naked and they feel like an idiot. That’s not how we want it to be, but I’m just telling you, I’m just saying right now, I’m giving you a little encouragement. Take the test, and what you’re wanting to do is you’re wanting to find the areas, your biggest limiting factors. This is an action item. Take the test. Look to find, seek criticism. Find your areas of your biggest weakness, your biggest limiting factors, and you want to fix those one at a time. How do I know where to start? Always fix the biggest burning fire. Fix the area that’s going to make the biggest impact. Always just fix the one area that makes the biggest impact. This week, just find the one. If you get stuck, all you’ve got to do is just email us, info at thrive15.com. Yes. And one of our coaches will help you if you don’t know where to start. To get through it. It doesn’t cost you anything extra. Definitely. Boom. So that’s nice to use the test as a tool. Yep. Don’t let it demoralize you. Let it make you better. Yep. And just go through systematically and improve things. Now, you said you used to be like this too. True. And I know when people see you’re successful now, you’re one of the world’s best business coaches, but can you remember what it was like when you couldn’t be abducted? Yeah Well, the problem is Getting old school now Okay, we’re just taking it back. Take it back I used to dj and you used to be in the room because she’s yes Is recovering cheerleading coach as well. So in your previous life you coached cheerleading You were a cheerleader you coached cheerleading. Here’s what happened You said could you mix some music for my cheer squad? I remember and I’m like because I couldn’t find anybody who could do a good job And I knew you would and I’m like well How hard could it be so we come in and I’m not kidding you would be like what I want to do Okay, it’s all an eight counts of five six seven eight and on the eight. I want to add it add in a whip Yes, so too many music is all the ESPN sound effects, so I’m gonna know impersonate how it sure makes good Okay, so it’s like they take a song from the 80s, like, let’s say, “‘Cause I’m TNT, I’m dyno might!” And then they add a beat in to it, from like, what was the guy, the Florida rapper who’s really dirty? Oh, I know who you’re talking about. Tootsie Rowe! What is it? 69 Boys or something? Yes, yes, yes. Tootsie Rowe! And they mix the two songs together, and then somehow we make it into a 90 second mix and people cheer to it. Yes. And so you said, could I do it? And the problem was I did it well with your coaching. You did. And then I did it better with your coaching. And pretty soon we started doing it really well. And then it’s like 10 p.m. every night. And my wife’s like, hey, Sharita’s coming over tonight and tomorrow. And by the way, tomorrow we have a, I can’t remember the young guy, the Hispanic gentleman who flipped really well. Gabe. Gabe. Yeah, he was awesome. So Gabe’s coming over on Thursday. You’re coming on Tuesday. Because he coached too. And then this lady Michelle from Owasso, she starts coming over on Friday. Pretty soon I’m working seven days a week like a dog for $30 an hour. That’s before the cost of the software. Because old school you had to buy the software. You couldn’t just rent that for $9.99. You had to buy it. It’s true. I had to buy a new computer. Hundreds of dollars. And then my computer freaking crashed because we were editing so much. Yes. I need to buy it. That was back in the day, by the way, when you render a file, it would go, eh. Yeah. And you have to wait. So that wasn’t scalable and it wasn’t duplicatable, but I was making good money. Yeah. So I was bringing in about $1,400 a week of gross revenue before costs, and I was working like a dog. And if I left the office for a minute. Trouble. And if you were there, I tried to delegate it by going, hey Garrett, I want you to do a cheer mix tonight for Michelle. How do you do it? Dude, you have to get into it. You have to be motivated, that’s one. And then two, like a typical entrepreneur, this is the kind of bad training entrepreneurs are giving their employees everywhere. Be motivated. Two, you’ve got to find the heart of the mix. And three, you’ve got to match that beat. And I remember him going, what? And Garrett liked to, he still does like to smoke the pot. And so Garrett used to go, what? And so I hired the wrong person for the job. Maybe he could find the reggae beat, but not the. I gave him the wrong instructions. I had the wrong guy. I had, and I couldn’t, I couldn’t even go away with my business for a day. And for my end, I didn’t want to work with anyone except for you because I know that’s kind of bad, but you were who I was used to working with. I knew your quality, and so I would not have been comfortable. So here’s the triple threat goal, Thrivers. Find something that you love, you’re passionate about, and if you find time freedom and financial freedom, you are the unicorn. Now, there’s some of you who say, I have a cleaning business, and if I see another toilet or clean another toilet I will shoot myself. That’s okay. But then find something you’re passionate about that your business can fund. So if you say, because of my financial and time freedom I’m now going to take golf lessons or whatever you’re passionate about, do that. I mean I have a thriver I talked to this week who’s a doctor. He told me, he goes, secretly I hate seeing patients now. I said, okay, that’s cool. What do you like to do? He goes, I love guitar. I’m like, you do? He’s like, yeah. He’s like, well, I’ve actually been taking lessons now that my company’s making some money. I’ve scheduled my Fridays. I’m taking music lessons. I go, really? So he’s found a way to fuel his passion. Right, which is really important. To fund his passion. Nice. I love how you said that. Be the unicorn. Get your time freedom. Get your financial freedom. Go and take our alien test. Okay? It will help you. It will give you the tools you need to improve. We’ll have it up on the screen, www.thrive15.com slash 30-day alien abduction test. So that’s all we have for this segment. We’ll be right back. Thank you again, Clay, for sharing your wisdom. Aliens and unicorns. What’s up, Thrive Nation? Josh Merrill here. So excited to be here at the podcast desk. Today we are talking about the world’s greatest book here, okay? The world’s greatest business book. It’s called Start Here, written by the man across the desk from me, Clay Clark, world’s best business coach. Today we’re hitting 3.4, Clay. This is one of my favorite three points. It’s 3.4. Beautiful, beautiful. It’s build your business with the end in mind. And if you wouldn’t mind, I’d like to start with a quick notable quotable here. Absolutely, I’m ready. This is from Napoleon Hill, bestselling author of Think and Grow Rich and Outwitting the Devil. Yeah. Great reads right there. It says, drifting without aim or purpose is the first cause of failure. Exactly. I would just say that if you think about your life and you’re watching this, you’re thinking about your life, you obviously are somewhat motivated or you wouldn’t be on an online education website. True. But why? What is the point? And I think a lot of times we get so busy working, we get so busy running our plumbing business, running our photography business, running our online school, whatever we’re doing, and we say, oh my gosh, I’m achieving success. And people will tell you you’re achieving success. Your accountant says I’m achieving success. Your accountant says, whoa, you’re achieving success your wife will say at first You’re achieving success your friends will say you’re achieving success at first Pretty soon your friends start to say hey I couldn’t get ahold of you pretty soon your wife starts to say why are you never home? Pretty soon you start to feel tired you start to and then you start to say Why was I doing this right or on the other side? Do you have tons of money, but you just have no time freedom. On the other side is you’re working right now like a slave for your customers. You’re not making any profit. You’re a creative guy. So people pay you to write scripts, to act. Right? They do all the time? Sometimes. Have you ever had a deal where the client has gone back and forth with you, let’s say more than five times, to the point where you no longer will make any respectable amount per hour, but yet for the creative win, you just keep doing it? We’ve been there. Has that happened? Okay. And so then you start to say, why am I doing this? It’s not worth it at this point. Right. And so you’ve got to begin with the end. So I would ask you, I’m interviewing the interviewer. I love it. But beginning with the end in mind, when you are building your business, your career as a writer, what would you even call yourself? Are you like a… You know, it’s a… you want to be humble, but a renaissance man. Okay. You know, write, direct, edit, act. Most of the time people pay me to dress in tight clothes. Okay. That’s what I’m finding. That’s my niche market right there. That’s awesome. So Will Ferrell goes nudity, you wear tight clothes. Yeah. So, but that’s what you do, and your end in mind is what? What is your purpose in your mind? Like, what is the purpose? What do you see your career going in a perfect world? What do I want to do? Yeah. I want to make people laugh. Yep. And I want to be with my family. Those are the two things. So, and then because, you know, health insurance and you have a new baby on the way. Yes. Those things aren’t free. You’ve got to figure out how much money do I need to make along the way to get there. Right. And I would just encourage every Thriver to take the time. I talk about it all the time. I’m sure I do it on every single episode, but I’m going to keep doing it because that’s all that matters. Is your F5. Your F5. Your F5. Your tornado of life, it’s much busy. It’s those sirens sounding. F5, you’ve got to do it. Faith, family, finances, friendships, fitness, where do you want to go? Write it down and begin with the end in mind. And if you do that and you keep that in mind, you look at it every single day, every day, only on the days you want to be successful, then you’ll be able to make good decisions. Weekends for me, yeah. Well, I’ll say this to you, Josh. Today I had a client who really asked me something that I thought was over the top today. I mean, honestly, it really irritated me. The guy says, hey, we have this really neat workshop we’re going to have in Colorado, and I’d like you to come lead. And I said, I told you I’m trying to be nice, but I don’t travel for all-week workshops. I don’t. He says, why? I said, because I bring my wife to every speaking event that I go to, and I have five kids, and I’m not going to be gone for a week for any amount of money. I don’t do it.” And then another client says, can we go fishing? And I said, you understand that I don’t do nature. That’s not something I do. I don’t nurture the nature. I’m there with you. No nature. So all I’m saying is I began with the end in mind. I know what I’m doing. I know what I’m all about. And you have to know what you’re all about. And don’t let me put my goals on you. Don’t let we put our goals on you. You decide what your goals are. Faith, family, finance, fitness, friendships, and then make sure that your business is just a vehicle that gets you there. My question for you is, when did you find the F5? Was there a breaking point for you when you said, I better have an F5? Well, what I realized is I was working at a job that was called Faith Highway. We sold evangelism commercials to churches. We used to sarcastically call it the toll road to heaven. But what we would do is we would celebrate. So you’re watching MTV, right? Yeah. And all of a sudden it would be like, got Jesus? And it would be some heavy message where you’re like, I don’t know if I have Jesus. I was just watching George Michael. And then, you know, and it would be this, it would be like these attacking, what do they say, attack, aggressive evangelism messages that you’d be watching anything and it just interrupt you with this deep thought. Yeah. Someone dying, usually you’re crying and you ask the salvation message. I looked at my boss, Jeremy, and I thought, if I do my job well, I could become him. Then I looked at his boss, and I thought, if I did his job so well, I could become that. I realized I don’t want that. I don’t want what Jeremy did. I don’t want to manage a group of people in a call center selling evangelism commercials, nor do I want to be the guy who manages the people who manage the people in the… Nor do I want to work with TBN, that’s a Christian TV network. I don’t want to travel all the time to wherever TBN is located, I think it’s Atlanta or something. I don’t want to… or California. I don’t want to travel there all the time and I don’t want to meet Pat Robertson. So this career path is not where I want to go. This is not the end that I had in mind. And then I thought, well, what is my end? And I didn’t know! So I was reading Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. I love the book so much I named my son after the author. But I literally sat down and I wrote down my book and I go, financially, I don’t even know how much I want to make. I have no idea. So then I’m like, okay, faith, family. I want to have five kids. I want to have five kids. I knew that, but I want to have five. Why? I had one brother growing up and I just thought it would be fun to have a big family. My wife did too. So I want to have five kids. I had no idea financially, but I knew the family. Then I’m like, so faith, you know, faith, faith. I don’t know, I work here at this Christian company. At the time I wasn’t a Christian, so I’m like, I don’t even know there. So I didn’t have the faith, did have family, didn’t have the finances. Fitness, I was like, I want to be jacked. At the time I worked out all the time. So I’m like, I want to be jacked. So I used to work out all the time. I hope we can put a picture up of that. We have a picture of the Flex-Off. We’ll put it on the screen here. Oh, I love it. Okay, so I mean, I used to just, just, and then I was like, you know, friendships, I remember going, I don’t like almost everyone I know. That’s a problem. Yeah, well, I mean, because I mean, you think about it. We are raised by a certain way and you become friends with people you go to college with, people that you work with. And without it being intentional, I had just picked up a group of people that I was friends with that I was like, I don’t even like these people. What am I doing? So I thought, okay, moving forward, I want to be around people who are successful as husbands and successful in business. And so I reached out to, I remember I put on my list, I put Clifton Talbert. He’s the guy who helped launch the Stairmaster and who was not allowed to go into banks because of the color of his skin in Glen Island, Mississippi. And he ended up owning a bank. So he’s a black guy who wasn’t allowed to go into banks and now he became a black guy that owns banks. And in my mind, he’s always been just a guy, but that story of overcoming adversity and segregation. So I thought, Clifton, I wrote down Terry Fisher. Terry started a company called Trinity Chemical, and he’s very successful, and he’s a father of multiple kids, multiple daughters, you know, an awesome husband. I wrote down these people, but I had no idea financially. And then what happened is, Josh, I figured out, having a child, you’ve had one. Did you have to go to the hospital for longer than the normal allotted time? Did you have any complications? Yeah, yeah, I did. I swallowed some fluid on the way out. I mean, did your wife have any complications, or was it just smooth? It wasn’t, no, not smooth. Okay, so we’ve had two miscarriages. We had our twins, and we had to go into the ICU. And when you get a bill for like $13,000 from the hospital, and you make $13,000, I made like $22,000 a year when I was working at Faith Highway. You start to realize, I realized, okay, I don’t know exactly my financial goal, but I need to make at least $100,000 a year and two grand a week to be able to, $400 a day in order to be able to have five kids. And so then I realized I need to build a business that allows me to do that. So I know it’s a long answer, but I just say, go through the five F’s and don’t feel like an idiot if you don’t know them all right now, but it’s important that you ask yourself and you schedule time every day. And once you know it, now I have my 5 F’s are very, very, very clear. And now anything that’s not helping me get there is kind of the enemy. That’s a good point. It’s like you start out, make your 5 F’s, but the longer you go, those things are going to become more and more clear. And it’s about being intentional with what you’re doing. It’s about setting these five things and saying, this is where I want to go, having the end in mind. I have a confession. Okay. I used to want to, when I finally got to my five F’s that I had to find, I thought I want to make my money by becoming a DJ. Oh boy. And my mom is like, you know, could you do that as a living? Is that a paid thing? I mean, is that really? People, they ask that though, is that, what do you really do though? What are you going to do? I remember my dad is asking me, what will you do during the rest of the week? And I thought that was a completely ridiculous question. I’m like, what do you mean? No one gets married on like a Tuesday. And I’m like, and then going back to my apartment and my infinite knowledge of everything, because I’m 19 and I don’t make enough money to afford the air conditioning. It’s going, whatever, I don’t know what I’ll do. And so I was DJing at the Yucatan liquor stand for Thirsty Thursdays where you got unlimited margaritas all that all you can eat unlimited margaritas ladies and gentlemen here is it is Thirsty Thursdays here how many people love the Yucatan liquor stand everyone ladies make some noise coming home at 2 a.m. and my wife’s like what are you doing and I’m like I’m I was the man at the Yucatan liquor stand then I became the man at the club Millennium I was you know Then there’s a place called the Midnight Rodeo, true story, and they reached out and said we’d like to hire you. My kids, I’m always talking about it, and they’re like, what is this place? And I almost, do you know about Midnight Rodeo? It was a place I wasn’t allowed to go to. It’s like a 21st century memorial, not an awesome location in Tulsa. And anyway, I realized I don’t want to go to the Midnight Rodeo, and I don’t want to go to Club Millennium, and so you know I did Thrivers? You got to get started. You can’t steer a parked bus. But you had to change my goals. But you can’t change them if you’re not moving forward. So the big theme here is move forward. Begin with the end in mind. If you don’t have it all figured out, it’s OK. Just keep moving forward. And over time, refine those goals. Right. That’s awesome, Clay. Boom. I’m glad that you’ve got your F5 down and you’re not a 35-year-old DJ at the midnight rodeo. Hey, there’s a lot of 35-year-old DJs watching I know are totally offended by that last statement. And so you just write in your complaints. Do they just email? Do they, if you’re gonna have a complaint, just email info at thrive15.com and they’ll go right to Marshall. And Marshall, I would love to hear that. Here’s the thing though, Clay, I, and this is a true thing, I would love to see you right now at the Midnight Rodeo, just DJing. And if 3.4 has taught me anything, it’s that that’s something I missed out on in life and we’ll never get to see again. Well, I’ll tell you what, the Midnight Rodeo, I’m telling you, I did not personally DJ. That’s where I kind of got to the limit. Because they said, the guy goes, well, now we’re going to do some country music. We’re going to do a lot of country, we do country and western, and then we do club music and I go, wait a minute, he goes, does this tell you how old school it was though? He’s like, I’m talking like the Quad City DJs, you know, we do like, come and ride the train, you know, come on, ride the train, come ride it, and then we’ll like that, and then we’ll hit them up with like, you know, Macarena. Oh, I love that. That’s always a good one. And then we got, we’ll do the electric slide, you know, that kind of thing. But then we get back to country, and we’ll do like, you know, any line dances. I mean, do you got the watermelon crawl? And I’m like, Oh my gosh, this is my life. You got a watermelon crawl. Can you get out there and teach that? Because if you can get out there now, our group, they love, they love, man, I love that Billy Ray. Now I know people say it’s overplayed, but when you see people get out there, heel toe does it down the whole deal, man. And then you just, now do you, can you teach a line dances? And I’m just going, this is my life. I just felt so violated psychologically that the art of DJing was taken away. And I was like, I can’t do this. Well, pay ain’t good enough for you? Money ain’t good? And I’m like, I just don’t want to go to the midnight rodeo. And he’s like, well, man, it’s been around all, oldest club in Tulsa, man. I’m just like, I don’t, I don’t. Why do you have such a twang in your voice and why are you wanting me to DJ for you? We have the midnight rodeo to thank for Thrive 15. That’s what got me out of it. Listen guys, you can define your F5 goals, faith, family, finances, fitness, and friendships at thrive15.com slash F5 goals. Do it now. Get it started. Don’t delay. That was a good sales pitch, huh? That was incredible. Yeah, it felt good. You really ended with a big hook right there. Yeah, you gotta end with that big hook. Well, that’s it for right now, Clay. Thank you so much. Boom. JT, do you know what time it is? 410. It’s TiVo time in Tulsa, Roseland, baby. Tim TiVo is coming to Tulsa, Oklahoma, June 27th and 28th. We’ve been doing business conferences here since 2005. And a lot of people, you know, have followed Tim Tebow’s football career on the field and off the field. And off the field, the guy’s been just as successful as he has been on the field. Now, the big question is, JT, how does he do it? Well, they’re going to have to come and find out, because I don’t know. Well, I’m just saying, Tim Tebow is going to teach us how he organizes his day, how he organizes his life, how he’s proactive with his faith, his family, his finances. We’re going to teach you how to do a social media marketing campaign that works. How do you raise capital? How do you get a small business loan? We teach you everything you need to know here during a two-day, 15-hour workshop. It’s all here for you. You’re going to leave energized, motivated, but you’re also going to leave empowered. The reason why I built these workshops is because as an entrepreneur, I always wish that I had this. And because there wasn’t anything like this, I would go to these motivational seminars, no money down, real estate, Ponzi scheme, get motivated seminars, and they would never teach me anything. It was like you went there and you paid for the big chocolate Easter bunny, but inside of it, it was a hollow nothingness. And I wanted the knowledge, and they’re like, oh, but we’ll teach you the knowledge after our next workshop. And the great thing is we have nothing to upsell. At every workshop we teach you what you need to know. There’s no one in the back of the room trying to sell you some next big get rich quick, walk on hot coals product. It’s literally we teach you the brass tacks, the specific stuff that you need to know to learn how to start and grow a business. I encourage you to not believe what I’m saying, but I want you to Google the Z66 auto auction. I want you to Google elephant in the room. Look at Robert Zellner and Associates. Look them up and say, are they successful because they’re geniuses or are they successful because they have a proven system? When you do that research, you will discover that the same systems that we use in our own business can be used in your business. Come to Tulsa, book a ticket, and I guarantee you it’s going to be the best business workshop ever and we’re going to give you your money back if you don’t love it. We built this facility for you and we’re excited to see it. And now you may be thinking, what does it actually cost to attend an in-person, two-day interactive Thrive Time Show business workshop? Well, good news, the tickets are $250 or whatever price that you can afford. What? Yes, they’re $250 or whatever price you can afford. I grew up without money and I know what it’s like to live without money. And if you can’t afford $250, we have scholarship pricing available to make it affordable for you. I learned at the Academy at Kings Point in New York, acta non verba. Watch what a person does, not what they say. Good morning, good morning, good morning. Harvard Kiyosaki, The Rich Dad Radio Show. Today I’m broadcasting from Phoenix, Arizona, not Scottsdale, Arizona. They’re close, but they’re completely different worlds. And I have a special guest today. Definition of intelligence is if you agree with me, you’re intelligent. And so this gentleman is very intelligent. I’ve done his show before also, but very seldom do you find somebody who lines up on all counts. And so Mr. Clay Clark is a friend of a good friend, Eric Trump. But we’re also talking about money, bricks, and how screwed up the world can get in a few and a half hours. So Clay Clark is a very intelligent man, and there’s so many ways we could take this thing but I thought since you and Eric are close Trump, what were you saying about what Trump can’t, what Donald who is my age and I can say or cannot say well I have to honor you sir I want to show you what I did to one of your books here there’s a guy named Jeremy Thorne who was my boss at the time I was 19 years old working at Faith Highway I had a job at Applebee’s, Target, and DirecTV, and he said, have you read this book, Rich Dad, Poor Dad? And I said, no. And my father, may he rest in peace, he didn’t know these financial principles. So I started reading all of your books and really devouring your books, and I went from being an employee to self-employed, to the business owner, to the investor, and I owe a lot of that to you, and I just wanted to take a moment to tell you thank you so much for allowing me to achieve success and I’ll tell you all about Eric Trump. I just want to tell you thank you sir for changing my life. Well not only that Clay, you know thank you but you’ve become an influencer. You know more than anything else you’ve evolved into an influencer where your word has more and more power so that’s why congratulate you on becoming because as you know there’s a lot of fake influencers out there too or bad influencers. Yeah. Anyway, I’m glad you and I agree so much and thanks for reading my books. Yeah. That’s the greatest thrill for me today. Not a thrill, but recognition is when people, young men especially, come up and say, I read your book, changed my life, I’m doing this, I’m doing this, I’m doing this. I learned at the Academy, Kings Point in New York, acta non verba. Watch what a person does, not what they say. Hey, I’m Ryan Wimpey. I’m originally from Tulsa, born and raised here. I went to a small private liberal arts college and got a degree in business, and I didn’t learn anything like they’re teaching here. I didn’t learn linear workflows. I learned stuff that I’m not using, and I haven’t been using for the last nine years. So what they’re teaching here is actually way better than what I got at business school. And I went what was actually ranked as a very good business school. The linear workflow, the linear workflow for us and getting everything out on paper and documented is really important. We have workflows that are kind of all over the place. So having linear workflow and seeing that mapped out on multiple different boards is pretty awesome. That’s really helpful for me. The atmosphere here is awesome. I definitely just stared at the walls figuring out how to make my facility look like this place. This place rocks. It’s invigorating. The walls are super, it’s just very cool. The atmosphere is cool. The people are nice. It’s a pretty cool place to be. Very good learning atmosphere. I literally want to model it and steal everything that’s here at this facility and basically create it just on our business side. Once I saw what they were doing I knew I had to get here at the conference. This is probably the best conference or seminar I’ve ever been to in over 30 years of business. You’re not bored, you’re awake, alive the whole time. It’s not pushy, they don’t try to sell you a bunch of things. I was looking to learn how to just get control of my life, my schedule, and just get control of the business. Planning your time, breaking it all down, making time for the F6 in your life, and just really implementing it and sticking with the program. It’s really lively, they’re pretty friendly, helpful, and very welcoming. I attended a conference a couple months back, and it was really the best business conference I’ve ever attended. At the workshop I learned a lot about time management, really prioritizing what’s the most important. The biggest takeaways are you want to take a step-by-step approach to your business, whether it’s marketing, what are those three marketing tools that you want to use, to human resources. Some of the most successful people and successful businesses in this town, their owners were here today because they wanted to know more from Clay and I found that to be kind of fascinating. The most valuable thing that I’ve learned is diligence. That businesses don’t change overnight. It takes time and effort and you got to go through the ups and downs of getting it to where you want to go. He actually gives you the roadmap out. I was stuck, didn’t know what to do and he gave me the roadmap out step by step. We’ve set up systems in the business that make my life much easier, allow me some time freedom. Here you can ask any question you want, they guarantee it’ll be answered. This conference motivates me and also give me a lot of knowledge and tools. It’s up to you to do this. Everybody can do these things, they’re stuff that everybody knows, but if you don’t do it, nobody else is going to do it for you. I can see the marketing working. It’s just an approach that makes sense. Probably the most notable thing is just the income increase that we’ve had. Everyone’s super fun and super motivating. I’ve been here before, but I’m back again because it motivates me. Your competition’s going to come eventually or try to pick up these tactics. So you better, if you don’t, somebody else will. I’m Rachel with Tip Top K9, and we just want to give a huge thank you to Clay and Vanessa Clark. Hey guys, I’m Ryan with Tip Top K9. Just want to say a big thank you to Thrive 15. Thank you to Make Your Life Epic. We love you guys, we appreciate you and really just appreciate how far you’ve taken us. This is our old house. This is where we used to live a few years ago. This is our old team and by team I mean it’s me and another guy. This is our new house with our new neighborhood. This is our new van with our new marketing and this is our new team. We went from 4 to 14 and I took this beautiful photo. We worked with several different business coaches in the past, and they were all about helping Ryan sell better and just teaching sales, which is awesome, but Ryan is a really great salesman, so we didn’t need that. We needed somebody to help us get everything that was in his head out into systems, into manuals and scripts, and actually build a team. So now that we have systems in place, we’ve gone from one to ten locations in only a year. In October 2016, we grossed 13 grand for the whole month. Right now it’s 2018, the month of October. It’s only the 22nd, we’ve already grossed a little over 50 grand for the whole month, and we still have time to go. We’re just thankful for you, thankful for Thrive and your mentorship, and we’re really thankful that you guys have helped us to grow a business that we run now instead of the business running us. Just thank you, thank you, thank you, times a thousand. So we really just wanna thank you, Clay, and thank you, Vanessa, for everything you’ve done, everything you’ve helped us with. We love you guys. If you decide to not attend the Thrive Time Workshop, you’re missing out on a great opportunity. The atmosphere at Clay’s office is very lively. You can feel the energy as soon as you walk through the door, and it really got me and my team very excited. If you decide not to come, you’re missing out on an opportunity to grow your business, bottom line. Love the environment. I love the way that Clay presents and teaches. It’s a way that not only allows me to comprehend what’s going on, but he explains it in a way to where it just makes sense. The SEO optimization, branding, marketing. I’ve learned more in the last two days than I have the entire four years of college. The most valuable thing that I’ve learned, marketing is key, marketing is everything. Making sure that you’re branded accurately and clearly. How to grow a business using Google reviews and then just how to optimize our name through our website also. Helpful with a lot of marketing, search engine optimization, helping us really rank high in Google. The biggest thing I needed to learn was how to build my foundation, how to systemize everything and optimize everything, build my SEO. How to become more organized, more efficient. How to make sure the business is really there to serve me as opposed to me constantly being there for the business. New ways of advertising my business as well as recruiting new employees. Group interviews, number one. Before we felt like we were held hostage by our employees. Group interviews has completely eliminated that, because you’re able to really find the people that would really be the best fit. And how to hire people, how to deal with human resources, a lot about marketing, and overall, just how to structure the business, how it works for me, and also then how that can translate into working better for my clients. The most valuable thing I’ve learned here is time management. I like the one hour of doing your business. It’s real critical if I’m going to grow and change. Play really teaches you how to navigate through those things and not only find freedom, but find your purpose in your business and find the purposes for all those other people that directly affect your business as well. Everybody. Everybody. Everybody. Everyone. Everyone needs to attend the conference because you get an opportunity to see that it’s real. Everyone needs to attend the conference because you get an opportunity to see that it’s real. conference because you get an opportunity to see that it’s real.
