I played basketball at the University of Oklahoma and my father was a high school coach. When I got out of college, what I wanted to do was coach. I coached in college for about four years and then I had my son and life changed. And my son was terminally ill. He had muscular dystrophy, what’s called Duchenne. At the time I was working for a school, I needed to make more money because of all the doctor bills, all that kind of stuff you got to buy and everything. So I started doing just a side program with score, just doing a few basketball lessons. My schedule filled up. At the time, my son was in a wheelchair. It got to be quite a struggle with him. And so it was a constant fight every day of, do I work, do I spend my time with him? How much time do I spend with working? But what I learned from all of it is, you still gotta get your job done. Well, I’m not a business owner. And I’m probably a terrible business owner, back a couple years ago. Because I had parents tell me all the time, well, I wish I’d have known about you three years ago. Well I’ve never heard a score, we get that all the time. And then doing the finances, doing the, just everything that I had to do was just eating it live. It would take hours every day. And so I needed to get smart about doing my business. All of us need a game plan. And Thrive 15 has helped me tremendously with that game plan. We changed how I was charging, we changed the programs we were doing. We changed the advertisement we were doing. We started doing everything smart. We’re the largest basketball facility in this three or four state area. We have people that call us from all over Oklahoma because of our website. My time has been freed up tremendously because I’m not involved in all the little things. It’s just streamlining your business so it’s not taking just all of your time away from your family. Because my wife’s very important to me, my kids, you know, I got to have some of that as well. And as a business owner, if you allow your business to eat you up, it’s not really worth it. You got to have a value of life as well. We wouldn’t be where we’re at today without Thrive 15. I am the founder of D-Sprick Realty Group here in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After being a stay-at-home mom for 12 years and my three kids started school and they were in school full-time, I was at a crossroads and trying to decide what do I want to do. My degree and my background is in education, but after being a mom and staying home and all of that, I just didn’t have a passion for it like I once did. My husband suggested real estate. He’s a home builder, so real estate and home building go hand in hand, and we just rolled with it. I love people, I love working with people, I love building relationships, but one thing that was really difficult for me was the business side of things, the processes and the advertising and marketing. I knew that I did not have what I needed to make that what it should be. So I reached out to Clay at that time and he and his team have been extremely instrumental in helping us build our brand, help market our business, our agents, the homes that we represent, everything that we do is a direct line from Clay and his team and all that they’ve done for us. We launched our brokerage, our real estate brokerage, eight months ago. And in that time we’ve gone from myself and one other agent to just this week we signed on our 16th agent. We have been blessed with the fact that we right now have just over 10 million in pending transactions. Three years ago, I never would have even imagined that I would be in this role that I’m in today, building a business, having 16 agents. But I have to give credit where credit’s due, and Clay and his team and the business coaching that they’ve offered us has been huge. It’s been instrumental in what we’re doing. Don’t ever limit your vision. When you dream big, big things happen. I started a business because I couldn’t work for anyone else. I do things my way. I do what I think is in the best interest of the patient. I don’t answer insurance companies. I don’t answer to large corporate organizations. I answer to my patient and that’s it. My thought when I opened my clinic was I can do this all myself. I don’t need additional outside help in many ways. I mean I went to medical school, I can figure this out. But it was a very, very steep learning curve. Within the first six months of opening my clinic, I had a $63,000 embezzlement. I lost multiple employees. Clay helped us weather the storm of some of the things that are just a lot of people experience, especially in the medical world. He was instrumental in helping with the specific written business plan. He’s been instrumental in hiring good quality employees, using the processes that he outlines for getting in good talent, which is extremely difficult. He helped me in securing the business loans. He helped me with web development and search engine optimization. We’ve been able to really keep a steady stream of clients coming in because they found us on the web. With everything that I encountered, everything that I experienced, I quickly learned it is worth every penny to have someone in your team that can walk you through and even avoid some of the pitfalls that are almost invariable in starting your own business. I’m Dr. Chad Edwards and I own Revolution Health and Wellness Clinic. On today’s show, we break down how PMHOKC and Shaw Homes have been able to increase their sales by 400% while also deep diving into the 20 website changes that you need to make to make more money versus the endless website edits that you could make that would be an epic waste of time. Clay, I appreciate you taking my call. I’ve just got some serious mission-critical website edits we need to make and I would like to spend my time on these today. Yes, absolutely. And also I want to follow up real quick before we go over the website edits that you want to make. How many Google reviews did you get this week? None yet that have posted. Okay, and how much content did you, how many pages of content did you write this week? Oh, now, what again now? Why do we have to put a thousand words on every page of my website? Well, you see, you have to put at least 350 words on every page of a website in order for Google to index and or count a page. So we coach you and all clients to put at least a thousand words of content on every page of the website so that way you guys can rank at the top of the Google search engine results like a Kolah Fitness. I mean if you Google search right now, let’s do it, if we search for Joplin Gyms, Kolah Fitness comes up top as a seven of the first 15 search results on page one of Google when you type in Joplin Jims. Well, now that’s nice and that’s factual, but what we’re talking about is why you have failed to put an e-book on the website, and I have asked you about this since Monday! Well, it’s 7 a.m. on Tuesday morning, and, again, to put the e-book on your website, you actually have to write the e-book previous to us putting it on the website. So, am I hearing you right here? You did not write the 1,000 words of content needed for each page of the website? You’re right, I did not write the content on the website. Overall, basically. That’s cool. All you’ve got to do is just write 1000 words of content per page, one time, for us to launch the website. So did you get some video reviews from your past clients this week? No, and this would be the fourth week anniversary of us having the same discussion. And all I want to do is launch my website. And I want you to launch your website so that you can grow your business by 400% just like Shaw Homes and PMHOKC.com. But you have to actually write the 1000 words of content per page on the website to launch the website. Or, you can have us do it for you. As previously stated, my wife who could not be here for today’s appointment, Mary Beth, does not like the content that you all are writing. And so we’ve got my daughter, Sarah Jean, and she’s writing that content. She went to OSU and has a degree in language arts. She’ll be finishing up that content any moment now. Okay, so just so that you and I are on the same page, in order to launch your website, in order to rank top at the Google search engine results, we need to have a website that is canonically compliant, which we’re going to launch as soon as your daughter provides the content. Two, your website has to be mobile compliant, which your website is, but we can’t launch it until your daughter writes the content. And three, in order to rank top in Google, you have to have the most Google reviews, which you don’t have because your daughter won’t get reviews. And then you have to have 1,000 words of content on each and every page of your website. And it really comes down to whoever has the most content gets to rank at the top of the search engine results. But we can’t launch your website and or ever rank in the Google search engine results because your daughter has failed to write the content. Well, now, fail is a strong word. I don’t want to throw her under the bus. Until she gets back from spring break, there’s really not much we can do with the content. Now, is there any way that we could make the logo bigger and put a widget on the website that greets people when they get on the site. Yes we can do that but in order to launch the website we need a thousand words of content and who on your team would actually respond to customers if they did click on the little chat feature that we added to the website? My daughter. Some shows don’t need a celebrity narrator to introduce the show but this show does. Two men. Eight kids co-created by two different women. Thirteen multi-million dollar businesses. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Thriving Timeshow. Now, four, two, one, here we go! We started from the bottom, now we’re here. We started from the bottom and we’ll show you how to get here. We started from the bottom, now we’re here. We started from the bottom, now we’re here. We started from the bottom, now we’re here. Yes, yes, yes, and yes! Thrive Nation, welcome back to this very special occasion. You and I have connected through the vast cosmos, the great connected internet universe somehow through the digital clutter. We have found each other. I am your brother from another mother, Clay Clark, and I’m joined here today with Jason Beasley inside the box that rocks in beautiful Tulsa, Oklahoma on the left side of the Arkansas River. Jason, how are you? I’m doing fantastic. I have my coffee, my almonds, my giant liter of sparkling water. I’m here. Now I’m going to ask you some rough questions, some tough questions, the kind of questions that on today’s show that I don’t think other shows are going to get into because many, many podcasts focus exclusively on things that you cannot control and things that will not change your life and we exclusively focus on the practical Loud sound effect right there that the sound of it came in loud. Let me do that again Cuz that was a really loud. Let me try it one more time Okay, let me do it again here we go Now we’re talking today about website edits that will get you paid versus website edits that will get you poor. So if everybody will go with me right now to go to thebestseobook.com. The bestseobook.com. In that book, thebestseobook.com. And Jason, will you grab a physical copy of it real fast? I’m on it. We’re going to be going through the edits that you need to make to your website today that will get you paid. And grab two copies, one for you and one for me. We’re gonna go over the edits that will get you paid versus the edits that will make you poor. And there is a big, big difference between the things that will get you paid and the things that will make you poor. Now let’s talk about this today. I wanna brag on a few people. P-M-H-O-K-C. They’re based in Tulsa, or they’re based in Tulsa, Oklahoma and in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The founder of that company, his name is Randy Antrikan. And when I first worked with Randy, Randy was doing well, but he did $324,000 of sales the other day. What? He did $324,000 of sales. Let me pull up his tracking sheet. This guy had a week, here let me pull this up, in one week he did $323,505 of sales. Wow, that’s more than I make in a year. I just want to make sure we get this, I mean that’s how much, that’s gross revenue. So he might make a 20 to 30 percent profit, but he did $323,000 of sales in a week. And for people who say selling is hard, you should probably talk to Randy. There it is. So Randy, PMHOKC, I want everybody to go to that website PMH okc calm I also want you to go to the website here the best SEO book calm, but clay How do I go to two websites? Well, I want you to go to three websites and once you go the best SEO book calm pull up a new tab go to PMH PMH Okc calm ok PMH okc calm and I want you to go to, let’s go to shawholmes.com. All right, shawholmes.com. Now, PMHOKC, just to make sure we’re getting this, these guys are doubling the size of their business on the verge of tripling. And maybe even, they might even be four times larger this year than they were last year. We are just rocking. We have calls. We had one week, this week, we did $134,000 of sales. We’re talking about pergolas, outdoor living spaces. Unbelievable. Now, let’s talk about this. We’ve got another week. Another week. $127,000 of sales. Well, why is he doing that much? Jason, where are the leads coming from? Well, the leads are coming from his advertising, his website. People see his awesome work in the backyard and ask, hey, where’d that come from? So his leads are coming in. Why don’t we pull up the tracking sheet? Let’s read off where the leads came from. We track for all of our clients. Seven leads this week from Google, four from Facebook, six from people that drove by, four from wholesale leads. Why is it important? Jason, why do we track on each and every call where the leads are coming from? We want to make sure that you are optimizing every area in which people can find you. Like every single week for Elephant in the Room, back when I was managing, I’d have to go through and find where all the leads came from. And I remember asking myself that question, why do we care how many ValPak people we get? Why do we care how many Yelp people we get? And then I realized, oh, we have invested in a lot of those things. We have a ValPak mailer. We have a Facebook ad. We want to see, do we need to change something? How successful is it? Are we burning money and should we be focusing that money somewhere else? Okay, so we have PMHOKC, who is growing dramatically and we’re talking about at least half of their leads, maybe even two-thirds of their leads, are coming in from the internet. Yep. All right. Why? Because according to Business Insider, 90.3% of humans use Google to find the products and services they’re looking for. 90.3%. Jason, why is that important that we should focus on where 90.3% of people are searching for things. Well, unless you are searching, unless the 10% that aren’t are your ideal and likely buyers and they’re the people that are going to be giving you $300,000 of sales in one week, you want to shoot for where the majority is at. Okay, so let’s talk about this. There is an article, I realize this will be the fourth website I want the listeners to pull up. But I cite what I say because I want everybody to know out there that I’m not a serpent, I’m not a lie teller, I’m a fact teller, I’m a truth teller, and I’m trying to help everybody out there become more successful. And this is the game changer. So if you type into Google right now, how Google retains more than 90% of market share. You will see a little, like a wheel, like a pie chart. And it shows that 90.8% of people are using Google to search for the products and services they’re looking for. I’m getting a nice reflection off this window so I can see what you’re doing. That’s great. 2.2% of people are using Bing. So get off that thing! Bing? 2.2% of people are using Bing so get off of that thing. Let’s focus on what about Yahoo? 2.4% of people. Stop it. Hey, what’s DuckDuckGo? It is a search engine that’s designed to allow you to hide from Google data that they collect about you. Oh, because somebody, you had mentioned it in a meeting once and then somebody else mentioned it and I thought you were joking. Yeah. I was like, yeah, no, I’ve been optimizing my DuckDuckGo. What is that? The only people that use that are conspiracy theory people called entrepreneurs. The average consumer doesn’t use that. The average consumer will give up all of their privacy to share their photos on Facebook. Think about this. I’m not going to do this, but if I was a robber, how would I know if you’re out of town or not? I would post about it. I’d say, hey, we’re going to Birmingham. I’m going to leave my doors unlocked. Come on. Come on over. Right. And Rob, I know I’m just saying, but if I was a bad person and I wanted to rob your house, I would know when you’re out of town because you’re going to put it on Facebook. You’re going to see me post a picture of my salad in New York and be like, oh, Jason’s not here. Right. So I’m just telling you, and people right now, there’s all this GPS tracking stuff. So anyway, duck, duck goes for people that want to avoid that. But again, I want everybody to go to pmhokc.com on one tab. Tab number two, shawholmes.com. Now Shawholmes, and you’ve heard this story, you’ve met them, you’ve seen it. When I first started working with them, they did $37 million a year of sales. Not bad. No. But now, they are at $80 million of sales this past year. Oh yeah. Now if you did $80 million of sales, Jason, and there are 12 months in a year, you follow me? Yes. So there’s $80 million of sales a year. Got it. And we divide that by 12 months. That means they did 6.6 million per month. It’s kind of an illuminati number actually. It’s kind of a bad number. If you did 80 million dollars a year of sales, you did 6.6. 6.6 repeating. It’s a Christian owned company. Uh oh. Uh oh. Uh oh. These sound effects are so hot. We’ve got to dial back these sound effects. They’re coming in too hot. Thunderous bomb explosion. Let me try that again. It’s too hot. We’ve got to pull that down. It’s just wow. Okay. So, but think about this for a second. They did per month $6.6 million of sales per month. When’s the slowest time of the year for home sales? I would assume winter because building, you know, builders don’t want to be out in there, but then also people don’t want to go do home tours. Right. When it’s cold, it gets dark early. There it is. So again, the slowest sales month of the year in the world of home building and real estate is January. So they, this month, homeboys and homegirls out there taking notes, they did almost $13 million of sales. Wow. Now, let’s be conservative. Let’s say they did $10 million of sales. If they did $10 million of sales, and they did more than that, Aaron Antis will be on future shows talking about their growth, that means they’d be on pace to do $120 million. So we’re talking about today how to 4X your growth. How to grow by four hundred percent how to grow your business this year how to grow your business by four hundred percent that it may be the other shows the talk about this i doubt it before you get into the tips may ask an honest question yes are these things that’s if i understand them i can for ex my business or if i actually sit down and do them you have to do that and there’s a lot of people out there, and I’m not hatin’, I’m not hatin’ on ya, I’m just asking you to stop listening to this podcast. Because you’re like a walking billboard. If you run around town going, I went to Clay’s conference, it was awesome, and you somehow bought yourself a commemorative t-shirt that says Boom, and you’re sleeping under a bridge somewhere because you can’t afford to pay your rent, that’s bad branding. Don’t be telling people to listen to my podcast if you’re not implementing these things. This is for the diligent doers and the goal pursuers. Now let’s talk about this again. How to grow your business by 400%. So we’ve got two examples. PMHOKC and ShawHolmes.com. PMHOKC.com, ShawHolmes.com. Tab number three we want is the best SEO book.com. We go there and we download the SEO book for free. Now chapter one of the book, why do I put so many proof statements and examples of real clients having real success on the first chapter of the book? Why do I do that? Well, it kind of goes back to what we just said. If you’re a diligent doer, this system will work. And so we like to give shout-outs and praise the people who actually worked hard and implemented this and then are now seeing the fruit of the growth. Because it’s one thing to just say, oh, if you believe in yourself, you’re gonna have great things happen. But if you say, hey, if you work really hard, then great things are going to happen. Can I ask all the listeners to do something? Let’s say, if you’re a listener out there, let’s pull up one more tab. That would be our fifth tab. Does that sound fair, Jason, our fifth tab? Yeah. Okay. So we go to thrivetimeshow.com and we click on testimonials. Why would I freely share the names, the first names and the last names of our clients and actually show video testimonials of their actual growth. Why would I do that? Well, I mean, you, like you said at the beginning, you cite everything that you say, so it would behoove you to say, hey, this system works. Oh, by the way, here’s 160 people that prove the system works. There we go. In page one of the book, we have just so many testimonials. We have testimonials from Dr. Breck. We’ve got testimonials from Dr. Breck.com from Chris DeJesus with Breakout Creative out of San Diego. We’ve got Jennifer Thompson with Fascianos. We’ve got so many examples. We could spin a whole show just citing examples. But now let’s get into the website edits that are not a waste of time and the website edits that are a waste of time. So Jason, if you’ll open to page 46 of the book, I’m going to have you read off the bolded information, okay, and then the information underneath that as I take copious notes here on the show notes. Our listeners love going to the podcast page and taking those show notes. And they like to have that checklist. So let’s go through the moves here. So these are the website edits that matter. What do you got first? So number one is host your website with a reliable hosting service. If your website is hosted with an unreliable hosting service, you will rank lower in the search engines. We recommend using GoDaddy.com. Don’t host your website with some local janky hosting provider who lives with his mom in the basement. Interesting. Host your website with a reliable hosting service. Yep. Point two. What do you got? Point two. Host your website with the fastest package that you can afford. Now that’s the fastest package that you can afford. Google really cares about how long it takes for your website to load. Why? Because people get impatient and will quickly move on to another website if your website takes too long to load. True. On January 17th of 2018, Google formally announced the speed update. Google’s plan called for them to slowly roll out the new search engine ranking criteria to give web developers plenty of time to make their website load. Time out before we move on to point three why would Google penalize your website if it takes too long to load Jason well I’m using Google services to find whatever I need to find so there it’s in their best interest to provide something to me that makes sense because if they were to send me to a website that takes five minutes to load I’m gonna get pissed I’m probably gonna go to somewhere else or if I go to a place that’s unsecured. So it’s up to them to award the people that crush it. Compliance-wise, speed-wise, you name it. As a consumer, how much time will you spend on a website that takes forever to load? I am a little bit more patient than most people. Really? Once we start, well I say that, but like three seconds to me is patient. I have some people who after a second and a half, they’ll keep clicking refresh, and if it doesn’t work, they’ll go somewhere else. Hmm, okay, so what’s the third move? Build your website on the WordPress platform. WordPress.com or WordPress.org? Let’s see here. That would be WordPress.org. Oh yeah, so I tried to paint you in a corner. I’m such a bad person. Can you please… Luckily you actually outline in the book here. Read it to us. Okay, so WordPress offers the best out-of-the-box search engine optimization imaginable. That’s a quote directly from Tim Ferriss. Yep. But you know don’t use any other website building platform than WordPress. If you hire a coder to custom build your website on PHP or.NET you will end up hating your life as a result of having a website that nobody can update. Do you remember that lady who reached out to us? Oh the doctor? Yeah she wanted help. I will not put her on blast. She spent how much? Do you remember how much she spent? How much did she owe you? It was to the tune of $120,000. $120,000! But they quoted her somewhere in the ballpark of $15,000 or $20,000 to start. Yep, and it’s some dude that she actually knew through church who has a big web company in Tulsa, Oklahoma. And he sold her every month, just kept selling her custom features. And she called us to see if we could help her, because she’s on the precipice of bankruptcy and given her financial situation and the urgency of it, I told her we couldn’t do it. We’re not Jesus. We couldn’t do miracles. I mean, we want to do miracles, but we just don’t have the capacity currently to do miracles. Okay, Jason, continue reading, my friend. With WordPress or the next step? WordPress. Let’s talk more about WordPress. So, yeah, if you go with the custom coder, nobody’s going to be able to update your website other than the entitled nefarious employees who now have the ability to hold you hostage. Trust us here. We have personally coached hundreds of clients and every time our coaching clients have a custom built website, I have been there, the business owners at some point has been held hostage by the employee who is the only person who knows how to update the custom built, non-search engine friendly and ridiculously complicated website. So building your website on WordPress puts the power back in your hands as a business owner because you can update the website yourself if you have to. Okay, continue. What is the fourth action step that we maybe want to take here today if we want to actually grow our company by 400% this year? That is you have to build a mobile-friendly website. Oh, why do we have to make it mobile-friendly, Jason? Continue reading. What is a mobile-friendly website? Check your website’s mobile compliance. There’s actually a really cool link here. What’s the link? It’s https://search.google.com/.test/.mobile-friendly. I’m going to put a link to it on the show notes. Keep going, my friend. If this link changes in the future, just search for Google Mobile Compliance. Oh, I could have just done that. OK. So let’s move on to the next. What’s the next step here? The next step is to install HTTPS encryption onto your website. Why do we have to install? What is it? Read on, my friend. Well, and this is actually a question I get from everybody. What’s that little HTTPS mean? HTTPS encryption stands for Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure. Oh, and it’s a byproduct of a company that was created by… Oh boy, it’s coming… it’ll come back to me. I’ll come back to me. You keep going on. Yeah. Ben Horowitz. What? Ben Horowitz? Ben Horowitz started Opsware, and one of the byproducts that they created while trying to make Opsware work was… HTTPS encryption. It basically makes your site really hard to hack, unless you’re like the Chinese government. True. And, if you don’t have it, Google doesn’t rank you high because they think you are untrustworthy. It’s like, what’s that thing you can put on your phone that keeps the phone from breaking when you drop it? Oh, like an OtterBox? Yeah, it’s like an OtterBox for your website. It’s like wearing a helmet when you’re playing football. It’s not going to prevent all injuries, but you’ll probably have less injuries if you wear a helmet while playing football. It’s true, on average. It’s just in the rugby league out there. If you’re listening, for all of our Australian listeners, if you guys would wear helmets, you might have less injuries. That’s how I got my first and only concussion. Are you serious? Yeah. I played for Tulsa Rugby for… Yeah. What? You guys are cracking your skulls together like coconuts, man. Well, it was back when I wanted to get a little manlier. I had never played a contact sport, so I was like, I’ll do it. I went to the second official practice before the first game, there’s this big New Zealand guy named Burke who laid me out. I want to make sure we get this. So by your standard, you’re saying if the potential and the likelihood for definite pain is greater, then it’s more manly? Is that the standard? At the time, that’s what I thought. I learned a lesson. Let me tell the listeners out there, a really cool way to experience, if manliness means you have more pain than is guaranteed, like not wearing a helmet while playing Australian rules football, here’s my tip. For all the male listeners out there, I want you to go out there and get yourself one of those staple guns from Lowe’s. Like a really nice staple gun, like a really high quality one. Don’t get me wrong, it’s like a… When you hit it, it’s like the compressor is attached to it or something. I want you to staple your nipple to a door. And I just want you to make sure that you do. Just staple the nipple to a door, and then by Jason’s standard back in his teenage years, you will become more manly. The next time you want to be more manly, staple your nipples to a door. And then shut the door. All right, continue, please. All right. So the next step is to install the Yoast.com search engine optimization plugin into your website. Install the what? Yoast.com. That’s Y-O-A-S-T. It’s like toast with a Y. Install the Yoast what? Yoast.com search engine optimization plugin into your website. Oh, what does this mean? Continue reading. So Yoast SEO is the best WordPress plugin on the planet when it comes to search engine optimization. Yoast was built and designed in a way to make search engine optimization approachable for everyone and thus we love Yoast. Yoast makes it possible for people who are not complete nerds to proactively manage the search engine optimization of their website and that’s true. I knew nothing about the back end the first time I looked at Yoast. It walked me through how to do it. It walks you through how to do it. What is the next step? We’re trying to help you grow your business by 400%. That’s all I’m trying to do. I’m trying to help you grow your business by 400%. You might say, Clay, why? I have no other hobbies and interests. I know what it’s like to not have money. I get it. It’s not fun. I know what it’s like to not have money. It’s awesome when you have money because things cost money. As an example, my wife’s car, she got a dent in it. I’m not sure the whole situation, but she got a dent in it. So we had to go fix it. I think we got quoted like $5,000 to fix the car. So it’s $5,000 to fix the car. For those of you scoring at home, $5,000. Then, after we got the body of the car fixed, the outside of the body? Yeah. On the way home, the check engine lights come on. Of course they do, because we just fixed the outside, and now guess what happens to the inside of the Suburban? The check engine light comes on. Jason, how much do you think, and we got a great deal, by the way. We are a client partner with the garage, meaning that I make a small percentage of all the revenue they do. How much do you think it costs me? Well, I is, okay, so hold on. You drive a Suburban, is that a Chevy? Yep. Ah, okay so my Ford when the check engine light came on that all in all I ended up putting 1,800 in to get it fixed. No way! And it’s still dead. Are you serious? Yeah. That is the exact number I spent. Ooh, was it a timing chain issue? I don’t know what it was. It pissed me off though, I’ll tell you that. Now, I’ll tell you that. Then I had to rent a car during the time it was being fixed. So we had a total of 10 days to rent a car. What did they charge me per day after? Insurance. Oh, so this takes me back to my customer service days at Hertz. So Hertz makes it hurt. Was it a sedan? Was it a coupe? Was it an SUV? It was an SUV. Okay, so if you’re doing an SUV rental, that’s probably, I’d say, 80 to 100 a day. And if you do an LDW, that’s going to tack on like two, two fifty. What is LDW? Lost Damage Waiver. Okay. I still remember that. It’s just extra insurance they sell you just in case you screw it up, which typically you don’t. Yeah. But I’d say after you did insurances and the daily, you’re probably looking at something close to, I’d say, you had it for ten days? Yes. We had it for like seven days, right? But then when we’re driving the car home, the check engine light comes on, so I had to go rent another car. So total, what do you think it cost me for 10 days? I’d say you easily spent over $1,000 for that rental. I spent $2,000. Holy crap. Yes. Yes! They probably got you at the Pike Pass, even though you’re in Tulsa and you don’t need it. They got me for everything. So all I’m saying is I ended up spending $2,000 on rental cars, $1,800. I almost spent 10 grand last week on car repairs. Now for somebody else out there, if you’re making $30,000 a year, that’s a third of your salary and no, no, no, it’s not because there’s taxes. That’s true. So I’m talking about that might have been half of somebody’s salary I had to spend last week. The struggle’s real. I get it. And I need somebody out there to implement these. I freely give away to you the moves. He does. All right, so step number seven, what do you got? Uniquely optimize every meta title tag on every page of your website. Uniquely optimize every what? Meta title tag. Title tag on every page of the website. Every single one. Now, not to bore people, because we never want to bore our listeners, if you go to thebestseobook.com, you can download the book for free, and then you can look at what that means. It’s hard to explain on an audio-only show what that means, but go ahead and read the description. So, the title tag is simply a hypertext markup language, or for anybody who likes abbreviations, HTML, element on a website that’s specific to Search Engine’s what a particular web page is all about. So if I’m searching for Tulsa men’s haircuts, and you would like to you’d like me to find you based on that You’d want to have that hidden away in your meta description somewhere surely you can’t be serious I am serious and don’t call me Shirley That’s this is again. This is you know why you know why people don’t typically on other podcasts talk about this You know why either they don’t understand it, or they don’t want people to know their secrets I think it’s a dark darker than that. Oh they want people to fail. Why would other business podcasts not talk about this. They don’t want other business podcasts to do what they’re doing. I think it’s more horrible. I mean I’m getting pretty dark. They don’t know. Oh no. They don’t know. Check this out. Napoleon Hill who couldn’t be here today? He’s dead. Oh, it turns out he’s dead. A lot of the great people are dead, by the way. There’s more dead people than not dead people. So think about that for a second. You’re going to be dead soon. You’re going to be dead soon, right? So you might as well implement this stuff. But Napoleon Hill says this. He says, stop guessing instead of thinking. What did Napoleon Hill say? He said, stop what, Jason? Stop guessing. Instead of thinking. On today’s show, we break down how PMHOKC and Shaw Homes have been able to increase their sales by 400%. While also deep diving into the 20 website changes that you need to make to make more money. Versus the endless website edits that you could make that would be an epic waste of time. Clay, I appreciate you taking my call. We just got some serious mission critical website edits we need to make. And I would like to spend my time on these today. Yes, absolutely. And also I want to follow up real quick before we go over the website edits that you want to make. How many Google reviews did you get this week? None yet that are posted. Okay, and how much content did you, how many pages of content did you write this week? Oh, now, what again now? Why do we have to put a thousand words on every page of my website? Well, you see, you have to put at least 350 words on every page of a website in order for Google to index and or count a page. So we coach you and all clients to put at least a thousand words of content on every page of the website, so that way you guys can rank at the top of the Google search engine results like a Kola Fitness I mean if you Google search right now, let’s do it if we search for Joplin gyms Kola Fitness comes up top as Seven of the first 15 search results on page one of Google when you type in Joplin gyms Well now that’s nice and that’s factual But what we’re talking about is why you have failed to put any book on the website And I have asked you about this since Monday. Well, it’s a 7 a.m. On Tuesday morning and Again to put the e-book on your website You actually have to write the e-book previous to us putting it on the website So so am I hearing you right here? You did not write the 1000 words of content needed for each for each page of the website. You’re you’re right I did not write the content on the website. Overall, basically. That’s cool. All you have to do is write a thousand words of content per page one time for us to launch the website. So did you get some video reviews from your past clients this week? No, and this will be the fourth week anniversary of us having the same discussion. All I want you to launch your website so that you can grow your business by 400% just like Shaw Homes and PMHOKC.com but you have to actually write the 1000 words of content per page on the website to launch the website or you can have us do it do it for you. As I previously stated my wife who could not be here for today’s appointment Mary Beth does not like the content that you all are writing. And so we’ve got my daughter, Sarah Jean, and she’s writing that content. She went to OSU and has a degree in language arts. And she’ll be finishing up that content any moment now. OK, so just so that you and I are on the same page, in order to launch your website, in order to rank top at the Google search engine results, we need to have a website that is canonically compliant, which we’re going to launch as soon as your daughter provides the content. Two, your website has to be mobile compliant, which your website is, but we can’t launch it until your daughter writes the content. And three, in order to rank top in Google you have to have the most Google reviews, which you don’t have because your daughter won’t get reviews. And then you have to have 1,000 words of content on each and every page of your website. And it really comes down to whoever has the most content gets to rank at the top of the search engine results but we can’t launch your website and or ever rank in the Google search engine results because your daughter has failed to write the content. Well now, fail is a strong word. I don’t want to throw her under the bus. Until she gets back from spring break, there’s really not much we can do with the content. Now, is there any way that we could make the logo bigger and put a widget on the website that greets people when they get on the site? Yes, we can do that, but in order to launch the website, we need a thousand words of content. And who on your team would actually respond to customers if they did click on the little chat feature that we added to the to the to the website my daughter Some shows don’t need a celebrity narrator to introduce the show But this show does two men eight kids co-created by two different women 13 multi-million dollar businesses ladies and gentlemen Welcome to the Thrive Time Show. Now, three, two, one, here we go! We started from the bottom, now we’re here. We started from the bottom and we’ll show you how to get here. We started from the bottom, now we’re here. We started from the bottom, now we’re here. We started from the bottom, now we’re here. Yes, yes, yes, and yes, Thrive Nation! Welcome back to this very special occasion. You and I have connected through the vast cosmos, the great connected internet universe, somehow through the digital clutter we have found each other. I am your brother from another mother, Clay Clark, and I’m joined here today with Jason Beasley. Inside the box that rocks in beautiful Tulsa, Oklahoma, on the left side of the Arkansas River. Jason, how are you? I’m doing fantastic. I had my coffee, had my almonds, my giant liter of sparkling water. I’m here. Now I’m going to ask you some rough questions, some tough questions, the kind of questions that on today’s show that I don’t think other shows are going to get into because many, many podcasts focus exclusively on things that you cannot control and things that will not change your life, and we exclusively focus on the practical. Oh, and that is a loud sound effect right there that the sound of it came in loud Let me do that again because that was a really loud. Let me try it one more time That’s still loud. Okay. Let me do it again. Here we go That’s a good one Now we’re talking today about website edits that will get you paid Versus website edits that will get you poor. Mm-hmm So if everybody will go with me right now to, it’s go to thebestseobook.com. The bestseobook.com. And in that book, thebestseobook.com. And Jason, will you grab a physical copy of it real fast? I’m on it. We’re going to be going through the edits that you need to make to your website today that will get you paid. And grab two copies, one for you and one for me. We’re going to go over the edits that will get you paid versus the edits that will make you poor. And there is a big, big difference between the things that will get you paid and the things that will make you poor. Now let’s talk about this today. I want to brag on a few people. PMHOKC, they’re based in Tulsa, or they’re based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The founder of that company, his name is Randy Antrikan. And when I first worked with Randy, Randy was doing well, but he did $324,000 of sales the other day. What? He did $324,000 of sales. Let me pull up his tracking sheet. This guy had a week. Here, let me pull this up. In one week, he did $323,505 of sales. Wow. That’s more than I make in a year. I just want to make sure we get this. I mean, that’s how much gross revenue. Yeah. So you might make a 20 to 30% profit, but he did $323,000 of sales in a week. And for people who say selling is hard, you should probably talk to Randy. There it is. So Randy, PMHOKC. I want everybody to go to that website, PMHOKC.com. I also want you to go to the website here, TheBestSEOBook.com. But Clay, how do I go to two websites? Well, I want you to go to three websites. I want you to go to the best SEO book dot com, pull up a new tab, go to PMHOKC dot com. Okay, PMHOKC dot com. And I want you to go to, let’s go to Shaw Homes dot com. All right, Shaw Homes dot com. Now, PMHOKC, just to make sure we’re getting this, these guys are doubling the size of their business on the verge of tripling and maybe even, they might even be four times larger this year than they were last year. I mean, we are just rocking. We have calls, we had one week, this week we did $134,000 of sales. We’re talking about pergolas, outdoor living spaces, unbelievable. Now let’s talk about this. We’ve got another week, another week, $127,000 of sales. Are we burning money? And should we be focusing that money somewhere else? Okay, so we have PMHOKC, who is growing dramatically, and we’re talking about at least half of their leads, maybe even two-thirds of their leads, are coming in from the Internet. Yep. All right. Why? Because according to Business Insider, 90.3% of humans use Google to find the products and services they’re looking for. 90.3%. Jason, why is that important that we should focus on where 90.3% of people are searching for things? Well, unless you are searching, unless the 10% that aren’t are your ideal and likely buyers and they’re the people that are going to be giving you $300,000 of sales in one week, you want to shoot for where the majority is at. Okay, so let’s talk about this. There is an article. I realize this will be the fourth website I want the listeners to pull up. They’ve got tabs. They could do it. I cite what I say because I want everybody to know out there that I’m not a serpent. I’m not a lie teller, I’m a fact teller, I’m a truth teller, and I’m trying to help everybody out there become more successful. And this is the game changer. So if you type into Google right now, how Google retains more than 90% of market share, you will see a little, like a wheel, like a pie chart, and it shows that 90.8%, sorry, 90.8% of people are using Google to search for the products and services they’re looking for. I’m getting a nice reflection off this window so I can see what you’re doing. That’s great. 2.2% of people are using Bing. So get off that thing! Bing? 2.2% of people are using Bing. So get off of that thing! Let’s focus on… what about Yahoo? 2.4% of people. Stop it. Hey, what’s DuckDuckGo? It is a search engine that’s designed to allow you to hide from Google data that they collect about you. Oh, because somebody mentioned it in a meeting once and then somebody else mentioned it and I thought you were joking. I was like, yeah, no, I’ve been optimizing my DuckDuckGo. What is that? The only people that use that are conspiracy theory people called entrepreneurs. The average consumer doesn’t use it. Right. And I know I’m just saying, but if I was a bad person and I wanted to rob your house, I would know when you’re out of town because you’re going to put it on Facebook. You’re going to see me post a picture of my salad in New York and be like, oh, Jason’s not here. Right. So I’m just telling people right now there’s all this GPS tracking stuff. So anyway, duck duck goes for people that want to avoid that. But again, I want everybody to go to PMHOKC.com on one tab. Tab number two, Shawholmes.com. Now Shawholmes, and you’ve heard this story, you’ve met them, you’ve seen it. When I first started working with them, they did $37 million a year of sales. Not bad. No. But now they are at $80 million of sales this past year. Oh yeah. Now if you did $80 million of sales, Jason, and there are 12 months in a year, you follow me? Yes. So there’s $80 million of sales a year. Got it. And we divide that by 12 months. That means they did $6.6 million per month. It’s kind of an illuminating number, actually. It’s kind of a bad number. If you did $80 million a year of sales, you did 6.6, 6.6. I was about to say 6.6 repeating. It’s a Christian owned company. Uh oh, uh oh, uh oh. These sound effects are so hot, we’ve got to dial back these sound effects. They’re coming in too hot. A thunderous bomb explosion. Let me try that again. It’s too hot. I’m going to pull that down. Wow. Okay. So, but think about this for a second. They did per month $6.6 million of sales per month. When’s the slowest time of the year for home sales? I would assume winter because building, you don’t want, you know, builders don’t want to be out in there, but then also people don’t want to go do home tours. Right. When it’s cold, it gets dark early. There it is. So again, the slowest sales month of the year in the world of home building and real estate is January. So they this month, homeboys and homegirls out there taking notes, they did almost $13 million of sales. Wow. Now, let’s be conservative. Let’s say they did $10 million of sales. If they did $10 million of sales, and they did more than that, Aaron Antis will be on future shows talking about their growth, that means they’d be on pace to do $120 million. So we’re talking about today how to 4X your growth, how to grow by 400%. How to grow your business this year, how to grow your business by 400%. Maybe there’s other shows that talk about this, I doubt it. Before you get into the tips, may I ask an honest question? Yes. Are these things that if I understand them, I can 4X my business, or if I actually sit down and do them? You have to do them. There’s a lot of people out there, and I’m not hating on you. I’m just asking you to stop listening to this podcast, because you’re like a walking billboard. If you run around town going, I went to Clay’s conference, it was awesome, and you somehow bought yourself a commemorative t-shirt that says, boom, and you’re sleeping under a bridge somewhere because you can’t afford to pay your rent, that’s bad branding. Don’t be telling people you’re listening to my podcast if you’re not implementing these things. This is for the diligent doers and the goal pursuers. Now let’s talk about this again. How to grow your business by 400%. So we’ve got two examples. PMHOKC and ShawHolmes.com. PMHOKC.com, ShawHolmes.com. Tab number three we want is the bestseobook.com. We go there and we download the SEO book for free. Now chapter one of the book, why do I put so many proof statements and examples of real clients having real success on the first chapter of the book? Why do I do that? Well, it kind of goes back to what we just said. If you’re a diligent doer, this system will work. And so we like to give shout-outs and praise the people who actually worked hard and implemented this and are now seeing the fruit of the growth. Because it’s one thing to just say, oh, if you believe in yourself, you’re going to have great things happen. But if you say, hey, if you work really hard, then great things are going to happen. Can I ask all the listeners to do something? Let’s say, if you’re a listener out there, let’s say, let’s pull up one more tab. That would be our fifth tab. Does that sound fair, Jason, our fifth tab? Yeah. Okay. So we go to Thrivetimeshow.com and we click on testimonials. Why would I freely share the names, the first names and the last names of our clients and actually show video testimonials of their actual growth? Why would I do that? Well, I mean, like you said at the beginning, you cite everything that you say, so it would behoove you to say, hey, this system works. Oh, by the way, here’s 160 people that prove the system works. There we go. In page one of the book, we have just so many testimonials. We have testimonials from Dr. Breck. We’ve got testimonials from Dr. Breck.com, from Chris DeJesus with Breakout Creative out of San Diego. We’ve got Jennifer Thompson with Fascianos. We got, I mean, there’s so many examples. I mean, we could spin a whole show just citing examples. But now let’s get into the website edits that are not a waste of time and the website edits that are a waste of time. So Jason, if you’ll open to page 46 of the book, I’m going to have you read off the bolded information, okay? And then the information underneath that, as I take copious notes here on the show notes. Our listeners love going to the podcast page and taking those show notes. Oh yeah. And they like to have that checklist. So let’s go through the moves here. So what these are the website edits that matter. What do you got first? So number one is host your website with a reliable hosting service. If your website is hosted with an unreliable hosting service, you will rank lower in the search engines. We recommend using GoDaddy.com. Don’t host your website with some local janky hosting provider who lives with his mom in the basement interesting host your website with a reliable hosting service point two, what do you got? point two, host your website with the fastest package that you can afford now that’s the fastest package that you can afford google really cares about how long it takes for your website to load because people get impatient and will quickly move on to another website if your website takes too long to load. True. On January 17th of 2018, Google formally announced the speed update. Google’s plan called for them to slowly roll out the new search engine ranking criteria to give web developers plenty of time to make their website load. We’ve got time now before we move on to point three. Why would Google penalize your website if it takes too long to load, Jason? Well, I’m using Google services to find whatever I need to find. So it’s in their best interest to provide something to me that makes sense. Because if they were to send me to a website that takes five minutes to load, I’m going to get pissed. I’m probably going to go to somewhere else. Or if I go to a place that’s unsecured. So it’s up to them to award the people that crush it, compliance-wise, speed-wise, you name it. As a consumer, how much time will you spend on a website that takes forever to load? I am a little bit more patient than most people. Really? Once we start, well I say that, but like three seconds to me is patient. I have some people who after a second and a half they’ll keep clicking refresh and if it doesn’t work they’ll go somewhere else. Okay, so what’s the third move? Build your website on the WordPress platform. WordPress.com or WordPress.org? Let’s see here. That would be WordPress.org. Oh, yeah. So I tried to paint you in a corner. I’m such a bad person. Can you please… You know, luckily you actually outline it in the book here. Read it to us. Okay, so WordPress offers the best out-of-the-box search engine optimization imaginable. That’s a quote directly from Tim Ferriss. Yep. But, you know, don’t use any other website building platform than WordPress. If you hire a coder to custom build your website on PHP or.NET you will end up hating your life as a result of having a website that nobody can update. Do you remember that lady who reached out to us? Oh, the doctor? Yeah, she wanted help. I will not put her on blast. She spent how much? Do you remember how much she spent? It was to the tune of a hundred and twenty thousand. Yeah, a hundred and twenty grand. But they quoted her somewhere in the ballpark of fifteen or twenty to start. Yep, and it’s some dude that she actually knew through church who has a big web company in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Yeah. And he sold her every month, just kept selling her custom features. And she called us to see if we could help her, because she’s on the precipice of bankruptcy. And given her financial situation and the urgency of it, I told her we couldn’t do it. We’re not Jesus. We couldn’t do miracles. I mean, we want to do miracles, but we just don’t have the capacity currently to do miracles. Okay, Jason, continue reading, my friend. With WordPress or the next step? WordPress. Let’s talk more about WordPress. Okay. So, yeah, so if you go with a custom coder, nobody’s going to be able to update your website other than the entitled nefarious employees who now have the ability to hold you hostage. Trust us here. We have personally coached hundreds of clients, and every time our coaching clients have a custom-built website, I have been there, the business owner at some point has been held hostage by the employee who is the only person who knows how to update the custom built, non-search engine friendly, and ridiculously complicated website. So, building your website on WordPress puts the power back in your hands as a business owner because you can update the website yourself if you have to. Okay, continue. What is the fourth action step that we maybe want to take here today if we want to actually grow our company by 400% this year. That is you have to build a mobile friendly website. Oh, why do we have to make it mobile friendly? Do we have to continue reading? What is a mobile friendly website? Check your website’s mobile compliance and there’s actually a really cool link here but it’s a https:// search.google.com forward slash test forward slash mobile mobile dash that’s the little line that’s horizontal friendly ok I’m gonna put a link to it on the show notes keep going my friend if this link changes in the future just search for Google mobile compliance oh I could have just said that ok so let’s move on to the next what’s the next step here? The next step is to install HTTPS encryption onto your website. Why do we have to install? What is it? Read on, my friend. Well, and this is actually a question I get from everybody. What’s that little HTTPS mean? HTTPS encryption stands for Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure. Oh, and it’s a byproduct of a company that was created by, oh boy, it’ll come back to me. It’ll come back to me. I’ll come back to me you keep going up in Horowitz what been Horowitz been Horowitz started ops where and one of the byproducts that they created while trying to make ops where work was HTTPS encryption Basically makes your site really hard to hack Unless you’re like of the Chinese government true And if you don’t have it Google doesn’t rank you high because they think you are untrustworthy It’s like what’s that thing you can put on your phone that keeps the phone from breaking when you drop it? Oh, like an OtterBox? Yeah, it’s like an OtterBox for your website. It’s like wearing a helmet when you’re playing football. It’s not going to prevent all injuries, but you’ll probably have less injuries if you wear a helmet while playing football. You know, on average. It’s just in the rugby league out there, if you’re listening, for all of our Australian listeners, if you guys would wear helmets, you might have less injuries. That’s right. That’s how I got my first and only concussion. Are you serious? Yeah. I played for Tulsa Rugby for… No you didn’t. Uh, yeah. What? You guys are cracking your skulls together like coconuts, man. Well, it was back when I wanted to, you know, get a little manlier. I had never played a contact sport, so I was like, I’ll do it. I went to the second official practice before the first game, and there’s this big New Zealand guy named Burke who laid me out. I want to make sure we get this. So by your standard, you’re saying if the potential and the likelihood for definite pain is greater than more manly, is that the standard? At the time, that’s what I thought. I learned a lesson. Well, let me tell the listeners out there a really cool way to experience, if manliness means you have more pain that’s guaranteed, like not wearing a helmet while playing Australian rules football, here’s my tip. For everybody out there, for all the male listeners out there, I want you to, any gender really can do this, but I want you to go out there and I want you to get yourself one of those staple guns from Lowe’s. Yeah. Like a really nice staple gun, like a really high quality one. Don’t get me wrong, it’s like a, when you hit it, it’s like the compressor’s attached to it or something. Yeah. And I want you to staple your nipple to a door. And I just want you to make sure that you do, just staple the nipple to a door, and then by Jason’s standard, back in his teenage years, you will become more manly. The next time you want to be more manly, staple your nipples to a door. And then shut the door. All right, continue please. All right, so the next step is to install the Yoast.com search engine optimization plugin into your website. Install the what? Yoast.com. That’s Y-O-A-S-T. It’s like toast with a Y. Install the Yoast what? Yoast.com search engine optimization plugin into your website. Oh what does this mean? Continue reading. So Yoast SEO is the best WordPress plugin on the planet when it comes to search engine optimization. Yoast was built and designed in a way to make search engine optimization approachable for everyone and thus we love Yoast. Yoast makes it possible for people who are not complete nerds to proactively manage the search engine optimization of their website and that’s true because I knew nothing about the back end the first time I looked at Yoast. It walked me through how to do it. It walks you through how to do it. What is the next step? We’re trying to help you grow your business by 400%. That’s all I’m trying to do. I’m trying to help you grow your business by 400%. That’s it? That’s all I’m trying to do. I’m trying to help you grow your business by 400%. You might say, Clay, why? I have no other hobbies and interests. I know what it’s like to not have money. I get it. It’s not fun. I know what it’s like to not have money. It’s awesome when you have money because things cost money. As an example, my wife’s car, she got a dent in it. I’m not sure of the whole situation, but she got a dent in it. So we had to go fix it. And I think we got quoted like $5,000 to fix the car. So it’s $5,000 to fix the car. For those of you scoring at home, $5,000. Then after we got the body of the car fixed, the outside of the body, on the way home the check engine lights come on. Of course they do, because we just fixed the outside, and now guess what happens to the inside of the Suburban? The check engine light comes on. Jason, how much do you think, we got a great deal by the way, we are a client partner with the garage, meaning I make a small percentage of all the revenue they do. How much do you think it cost me? Well, I, is, okay so hold on, you drive a Suburban, is that a Chevy? Yep. Ah, okay so my Ford when the check engine light came on, that all in all I ended up putting $1,800 in to get it fixed. No way! And it’s still dead. Are you serious? Yes. That’s what happened. That is the exact number I spent. Was it a timing chain issue? I don’t know what it was. It pissed me off though. I’ll tell you that. Then I had to rent a car during the time it was being fixed. So we had a total of 10 days to rent a car. What do they charge me per day after? Insurance. Oh, so this takes me back to my my customer service days that hurts so it hurts makes it hurt Was it I was at the sedan was that the coupe was an SUV as an SUV Okay, so if you’re doing an SUV right kids, that’s probably I’d say 80 to 100 a day and if you do an LDW that’s gonna tack on like to what is LDW lost damage waiver Okay, I still remember the insurance extra insurance. They sell you just in case you screw it up which typically you don’t. Yeah. But I’d say after you did insurances and the daily you’re probably looking at something close to I think you got for 10 days. Yes. We had it for like seven days right. But then we were driving the car home. The check engine light comes on. I had to go rent another car. So total what do you think it cost me for 10 days. I’d say you easily spent over a thousand for that rental. I spent two grand. Holy crap. Yes! Yes! They probably got you at the Pike Pass, even though you’re in Tulsa and you don’t need it. They got me for everything. So all I’m saying is I ended up spending two grand on rental cars, $1,800. I almost spent ten grand last week on car repairs. Now for somebody else out there, if you’re making $30,000 a year, that’s a third of your salary and no, no, no, it’s not because there’s taxes. That’s true. So I’m talking about that might have been half of somebody’s salary I had to spend last week. The struggle’s real. Yeah. I get it. And I need somebody out there to implement these. I freely give away to you the moves. He does. All right. So step number seven, what do you got? Uniquely optimize every meta title tag on every page of your website. Uniquely optimize every what? Meta title tag. Title tag on every page of the website. Every single one. Now, not to bore people, because we never want to bore our listeners, if you go to thebestseobook.com, you can download the book for free, and then you can look at what that means. It’s hard to explain on an audio-only show what that means, but go ahead and read the description. So the title tag is simply a hypertext markup language, or for anybody who likes abbreviations, HTML element on a website that’s specific to Search Engine’s what a particular webpage is all about. So if I’m searching for Tulsa men’s haircuts, and you would like me to find you based on that, you’d wanna have that hidden away in your meta description somewhere. Surely you can’t be serious. I am serious and don’t call me surely. That’s, this is again, this is, you know why, you know why people don’t typically on other podcasts talk about this? You know why? Either they don’t understand it or they don’t want people to know their secrets. I think it’s a darker than that. Ooh, they want people to fail. Why would other business podcasts not talk about this? They don’t want other business podcasts to do what they’re doing. I think it’s more horrible. I mean, I’m getting pretty dark. They don’t know! They don’t know! They don’t know! And check this out. Napoleon Hill, who couldn’t be here with us today because of Jason. Why couldn’t Napoleon Hill not be here today? He’s dead. Oh, it turns out he’s dead. A lot of the great people are dead, by the way. There’s more dead people than not dead people. So think about that for a second. You’re gonna be dead soon. You’re gonna be dead soon, right? So you might as well implement this stuff. But Napoleon Hill says this. He says, stop guessing instead of thinking. What did Napoleon Hill said? He said, stop what Jason? Stop guessing instead of thinking. He says, stop guessing instead of thinking. Most people are too indifferent or lazy to acquire the facts Facts with which to think accurately they prefer to act on opinions created by guesswork or snap judgments How often have you been on the phone with a new client who has some web guy on his team? some marketing manager who’s related to the owner some wife of the owner some husband of the owner some owner, some jackass who does not know what they’re talking about, who refuses to implement what works. How often? In the entirety of my coaching catalog of clients, I kid you not, we’ve gotten better, but it’s been about 80% of my overall clients in history that have had some version of those characters that have said the exact same things. Yes. Again, if you’re out there today and you said, Clavis, Claytron, Clay Clark, how do I grow my business by 400 percent? You want to find the parade and get in front of it. Check this out. If everybody is on a freeway, and there is one freeway, one highway we’ll call it, and one highway, if every single car in the world had to go down one highway, where would you want to buy a billboard? You don’t want to buy a billboard that’s facing the direction… If there was one highway in the world, where would we want to put the billboard? You want to put the billboard right next to that highway. Yes! In line with the site. Yes! Yes! Now where would we not want to put the billboard? If there was one highway, would we want to put the billboard on the country road? This is right in the middle of the forest. Would you want to put it in the middle of the forest? Nope. Would you want to put it on top of a desolate mountain? Nope. Would you want to put it by a pond? Nope. Would you want to put it someplace behind an outhouse there that your Uncle Bernie owns? No, because I don’t want Bernie’s business. You’d want to put it on the information superhighway? Yep. Homeboys, homegirls, 90.8% of people are using Google to find the products and services that they’re looking for. And I have put a link to the Business Insider article called, How Google Retains More Than 90% of Market Share. But you know why people aren’t going to take notes right now? Not our listeners, but the friends of our listeners, why they wouldn’t take notes? They’re busy. Yeah, I’d say educate me, but it comes down to their lazy, which is, lazy is the actual definition for busy nowadays, I found. It’s like, oh, I’m too busy to do that. I have people who I say, oh, I’m too busy. Oh, what are you doing? Well, I just finished watching the newest episode of Homeland. Oh, cool. I got to take my kids to soccer. Let’s talk about that for a second. Let’s say you have to take your kids to soccer, and you’re broke. Could you, for one year of your life, let somebody else take your kids to soccer so that you could make four times more money, and then next year you can take the kids to soccer or you can take them anywhere you want during the day because you’ll have time freedom? True. No, no, Clay, I cannot block out the time to do this because I just don’t do the Internet. I don’t do computers. What are you talking about? That’s like saying I don’t do the wheel. Don’t do wheel. I don’t do wheel. Don’t do wheel. What? What, Carl? You don’t do the wheel? Don’t do wheel. I do not do wheel. Carl, you know, it’d be easier if you had a round wheel instead of a square wheel. No, like square wheel. Like, what? What are you talking about? It’s just, it’s dumb. It’s dumb. It’s just dumb, da-dum, dum-dum. It reminds me of the thong song for some reason. Oh, yeah, Cisco. Cisco. Dum-da-dum-dum-dum. So anyway, let’s move on. What is number eight? Number eight is uniquely optimize every meta description on every single page of your website. So meta title tag and meta descriptions are different, people. Uniquely optimize every meta what? Description. OK. On every page of your website. How come you can’t copy it and do the same text on every page? Well, because that might be duplicate content and if you are trying to be top in Google, they will actually rank you lower or suspend you for that. Really? Yep. So you’re saying to me that I don’t want to copy and paste on the meta descriptions? Because in order to be top, you have to have the most original HTML content, not just the most copied content. Who makes these rules? Google makes these rules. And what percentage of people use Google? 90.8%. Yes. Yes. So we should probably follow Google’s rules. If we want to be topping the biggest search engine that’s being utilized. No, no. What I’m going to do is I’m going to build a website on Wix with all these Flash plug-ins and all these things that Google doesn’t like. I’m going to, are you kidding me? I mean, it’s crazy. I see business owners saying, well what about Instagram? 90.8% of people are going on to Google to search for the products and services they’re looking for. That’s it. If you’re out there and you’re on the gram, if you’re on Instagram or you’re on Facebook, what are you doing? You’re looking for a good time, you’re looking to just see what’s going on with your family. You’re looking to distract yourself from everything else in your life. Right, you’re just looking to scroll up there and just sort of drift around. I don’t know what you’re doing. I don’t go on Facebook. I don’t use social media. I don’t get it. But I don’t understand why you’d want to go on there and engage in comparison and jealousy and writing bad reviews about companies and going on about political issues and, We shouldn’t impeach Trump. We shouldn’t impeach Trump. Barack Obama wasn’t even born in this country. Donald Trump, you know, in fact, he’s working with the Chinese right? I mean just stop. What are you doing? Where you getting your facts? Where you getting your information from? stop Guessing instead of thinking most people are too indifferent or lazy to acquire facts with which to think accurately They prefer to act on opinions created by guesswork or snap judgments Napoleon Hill point nine J’s What’s point nine point nine is uniquely optimize the keywords on every page of your website. Now if I wanted to see examples of this, because it’s an audio only show, I would probably write, it might be wise right now for everyone to go to thebestseobook.com, download chapter 2, and to kind of read along as we’re going over this with you. That’s the move. That’s the move. Sit down and take notes, you know, and there’s great shows out there about for entertainment. I mean, there’s some really great shows About that, but we’re not doing that. We’re doing a show about how to grow your business by 400 percent. Yeah, Jason back to you What’s the next step the very next step after optimizing your keywords is? Creating 1,000 words of original and relevant text content per page on your website now again. Someone says but clay Now again, someone says, but Clay, I’ve heard Google has changed. Jason, repeat the rule. Repeat, repeat, repeat. What was that next number 10 again? Create 1,000 words of original and relevant text content per page on your website. One more time. I’m trying to take notes here. Create 1,000 words of original what? Original and relevant text content. Relevant text content. Per page on your website. Per page on your website. Okay. This is on my consent now. Now a thousand words, why do we have to do a thousand words? I heard Google changed. You want to write a thousand words so you can always stay ahead of the curve because Google’s going to change. They’re going to update their policies and it’s better to be ahead of it than playing catch up. How often have you heard somebody who doesn’t want to write the content question if they need to seven times in a row? Every single time I help a client build a website. So if they hadn’t already had a website, or if they have one that is the billboard in the middle of the forest, and we need to make a new one that can actually rank on Google, I’ll walk them through that. I’m like, ooh, I want to have eight different nav bar tabs. I’m like, great, that’s 8,000 words of content. And they’re like, but why would I need that much? Well, because Google requires you to have that much content and they’re going to change their policy so it’s best you write it now and not have to add 500 words later. You know we had David Bach on the show. David Bach, he’s the best-selling author of The Automatic Millionaire, a powerful one-step plan to live rich and finish rich. He has written nine consecutive New York Times best-selling books. He’s been on Oprah quite a bit. He has quite a following and he said this to me, he said this, he says, remember inspiration unused is merely entertainment. To get results now, you need to take new actions. He said that, remember, inspiration unused is merely entertainment. To get new results, you need to take new actions. Now, I have found that to be true, that a lot of times people just, just they kind of want the entertainment, you know, they kind of want to listen to a podcast for fun. I don’t do that. I don’t know people out there. I don’t know if maybe that’s something you’re into. I’ve never listened to a podcast for fun. And there’s probably people that do. I’m not judging if you do. I, though, for me, if I was poor, I would think, what is the one thing that impacts me the most? Poverty. Okay. So what’s probably the one thing I should focus on first before I watch another podcast that doesn’t help me? How to make more money. And then once you make more money, then you can spend all your time doing whatever you want. True. Which is why I like watching the Patriots. That’s just fun. It’s fun. You can learn things from it. Yeah, sure. But I mean, that’s why I like Adam Sandler movies. I mean, it’s fun. I mean, that’s why my son yesterday, he had a friend come over and they said, you know, Dad, will you buy us a tarp? I said, sure. I bought a tarp at Walmart. It was a 10 foot by 10 foot, I think, or 10 foot by 8, I think, tarp, a gray tarp at Walmart. And it cost about $18. And I had to get some bungees, too, and three pizzas from Papa John’s. Oh, there you go. And I did it. And you know what it took? You know what it took for me to acquire those goods and services? You know what I had to do to get, what did I have to do? What did I have to exchange for those pizzas. Did you did you barter did you offer them magic beans? No. Oh, so you probably use like legit currency. Was it was it was it prayer? Did I pray for Bitcoin because you can use Bitcoin to buy pizza. Do you did you do you think I went into Walmart and prayed and said I just want Jesus to bless me with abundance. Now you’re not a Christian and I am. How often have you seen people just say, I just want Jesus to bless me, I just want to rain on down this year, I’ll pray for abundance, and then they don’t actually optimize their website. How often have you seen this sort of thing? We live in the Bible Belt so it’s probably more common for us. How often do you see people that are almost mocking God, if they believe in God, I believe in God, but you’re almost mocking God when God talks so specifically in the book of Job and Proverbs about work and getting it done. People that almost mock God by not applying any actions at all but just praying. Oh, I see it a lot more than I’d like to admit. And it makes me, being someone who’s not religious, furious for that religion because you have somebody saying, oh hey, I’m the poster child for this, but I’m also not going to implement what I’m teaching. I’m just here because it makes me feel good. And you have people like T.D. Chakes who would backhand you across the face they stop praying for things you can do yourself right right and right let’s continue Jason so let’s continue so we got create a thousand words of original relevant text content for a page and if you download chapter 2 of the book the best SEO book calm you can download the book for free if you like you can buy a copy of it the physical copy but you can follow along in it you can see examples of what this means and I’m giving you two examples, shawholmes.com and pmhokc.com, companies that have grown their business by almost four times the revenue, folks. And just refer back to those sites when in doubt. What’s the next move? The next move is page 51, create a Google search engine compliant dot XML sitemap on your website. Create a Google search engine compliant what? Dot, like a little period, XML sitemap. Tell us more about this. I’m working off the assumption that our listeners do not know what a dot XML sitemap is. So what is an XML sitemap? XML stands for extensible markup language. A quality XML sitemap serves as a map of your website which allows the Google search engine to find all of the important pages located within your website. As a website owner, unless you hate money, you really want Google to be able to crawl, which means find, rank, and sort all of your important pages on your website. Yoast.com has tools that will actually generate Google-compliant XML sitemaps for you. So anybody can do it. Anybody can do it. Okay, what’s move number 12? Before we move on to move number 12, if you buy a copy of this book, there’s a great picture of Clay, I’d say circa 1920 in the Indians jersey? Oh yeah, it’d be 1999. Oh yeah, so that’s a handsome man right there. Beautiful, beautiful right there. Alright, so the next step is to create a Google search engine compliant HTML sitemap. Why do you have to follow Google’s rules and why can’t you just make it the way you want to make it? Well, I mean you can make it as pretty as you want, but then Google’s going to say, this does not fit our criteria, let’s move on to the next one. Oh, this one does. Now they’re going to rank your competitor. So again, if you don’t know what this means, you can go to the book, you can download the very visual book, you can download it. That was one thing I was going to say was I’ve read how-to books before. And you guys are like the Ikea of book writers. You make it simple. You’re like, hey, if you want to get from point A to point B, here’s how you do it. But here is a visual representation. So you’re not trying to put wingnut Q with Alan Rensch R on stud T. I’m not a Hemingway. I’m more of like a Billy Madison of business. I’m going to make it super easy because my brain cannot handle these complex, all-text driven books where you don’t see examples. I can’t get through them. Especially when it comes to something like this, because that’s a lot. I’ve read a lot of books and every time I’ll get to the end of a chapter and I’ll go, what was that? So I have to highlight. You see how I read books. I have to highlight it and edit it and screenshot it and dog ear it. I get the information, finally. But dude, it takes me a long time to do that. Right. So OK, let’s move on. What’s step 13? Step 13 is create a clickable phone number. Create a clickable phone number? Yeah. Why? Well, because if people are on their phones all the time, which they are, and they’re searching for your business, if you have the ability for them to click a phone number and it calls you directly, that’s one less thing they have to do. Speed delete, it gets them right to you. Now let’s talk about this for a second. If you’re listening to this show for the first time or the 47th time or whatever that is, I need you to engage in the conversation and to always work off the assumption that what I’m saying is not true and then go verify. I’m going to cue up this audio. This is Aaron Antus explaining to you. By the way, you can watch this video by going to thrivetimeshow.com and clicking on testimonials. This is Aaron Antus explaining how he’s increased the number of leads he receives by 12 times. True. Now, they’ve grown the company by four times. If you’re getting 12 times more leads, why would you not be 12 times bigger if you’re a home builder? I’m not sure I understand the question. If you’re getting 12 times more leads, why would you be 12 times bigger? Yeah. Well, it wouldn’t make any sense. You’d call them and you would be. So make sure we get this idea. They build houses. Right. They’ve got to buy land. They’ve got to work with our client, AAB Engineering, to develop the land. They’ve got to put in sewer systems. They’ve got to put in curbs and sidewalks. And they’ve got to get permits from the government, they’ve got to get approval, they’ve got to do, I mean, they’ve got all this stuff they have to do where they’ve got to do this planning that goes into it. Then they have to actually build the houses, and then only like one out of three people actually pick up their phones, maybe only even a third of the leads. Maybe somebody who filled out the form doesn’t have a good enough credit score to buy a house. The average house they’re selling is about $300,000. I mean, there’s a lot of… But they’re grown by four times. How many times have you seen someone getting super emotional? They go, well, internet leads are crap. Only like a third of the leads are good. Only a third are good. All the time. And I tell them, yeah, but you have to continuously… It’s like your garden metaphor all the time. If you have a garden, you have to prune the weeds. Prune. Is that the word? Pull the weeds. Prune the weeds. Pull the weeds. Pull the weeds. Pull the weeds. how we have been able to increase the number of leads that he receives by 12 times within just four short months. He’s been a client now for almost four years. Let me hit play. Here we go. Hi, I’m Aaron Antus with Shaw Homes. I first heard about Clay through a mortgage lender here in town who had told me what a great job he had been doing for them. He heard about me from Steve Currington, the founder of Total Lending Concepts, And Steve was a startup mortgage company that did zero dollars of sales when they started. And now in the past five and a half years, they’ve grown to do $251 million of mortgages this past year. Wow. Now, in the mortgage business, you make a commission on every deal. We’ll say it’s like, you know, one and a half percent. OK, let’s just say that. OK, so that means that we have generated for Steve’s business. This is crazy. This is it’s really crazy when you think about this. Somebody out there is going this is what’s the number tell me about some suspense here. Well, I do my calculations. That means we’ve generated so far for Steve’s team $3.7 million of commissions. Oh, yeah. Okay. All right. Let’s keep it in play here. Here we go. And I actually noticed he was driving a Lamborghini all of a sudden, so I was willing to listen. In my career I’ve sold a little over 800 million dollars in real estate. So honestly I thought I kind of knew everything about marketing and homes, and then I met Clay and my perception of what I knew and what I could do definitely changed. After doing $800 million in sales over a 15-year career, I really thought I knew what I was doing. I’ve been managing a large team of salespeople for the last 10 years here with Shaw Homes. We’ve been a company that’s been in business for 35 years. We’ve become one of the largest builders in the Tulsa area, and that was without clay. So when I came to know clay, I really thought, man, there’s not much more I need to know, but I’m willing to listen. Are you having that thought right now? You’re thinking, well, maybe there’s not much more I can know. I listened to this podcast. To quote Jill Donovan, she says she listens to our show. This is the founder of rusticcuff.com. She says she listens to our show because it’s kind of like bad milk. And when you know it’s bad, you sniff it, and you’re like, that milk’s bad. But you want to sniff it one more time just to make sure it’s bad. As she said, that’s kind of how this show is because she knows it works. The systems we teach, if applied, do very well. She knows that. But at the same time, sometimes it’s not necessarily fun. Sometimes what we’re teaching is like the tough, drill sergeant truth that we all need out there. It’s a business coaching show. It’s about coaching You I don’t know a lot of high school coaches or I? Can’t think of a good coach I’ve ever had in high school or maybe a college coach or a great teacher that didn’t push me Yeah, I’ve never had a teacher that it was a great teacher that you would you would chalk up as being great That didn’t push you favorite. Oh that didn’t push me. Yeah Yeah. Um, no, I mean, they’re, they’re like likable people, but the best teachers I ever had were people who were just like, Hey, if you don’t get your crap together, you’re not going to pass this class. Or if you don’t apply what you’re learning here, you’re not going to make it in life. I really do feel like, uh, we can, if we’re not careful, just listen to a show. Cause it’s fun. Yeah. And that was a, a, why I stopped doing, uh, have ever, I’ve ever shared with you why I stopped doing public speaking events? I always assumed it was because you were focusing more on, like you had to be spending more time in the businesses. This is what happened is I sold DJConnection.com and Party Perfect Rentals, which is now Party Pro, and I sold a lot of things. I got asked all the time to do speaking events. So I’ve spoken for Hewlett Packard and O’Reilly Auto Parts and the Golden Rule Funeral Home Network there. Oh wow, I bet that was a lot. EXP Realty. There was big mortgage companies, mortgage architects up there in Canada. Just big companies, UPS, you name it. And I went out there and spoke, and you get like an hour to speak every time on motivation, time management, or sales. Motivation, time management, sales. Towards the end there I got a lot of talk. People ask, how do you manage millennials? You get these certain topics. What happened is I would find out, because I would get the leads, when people were at the conference I told them if you want to download the slides, just provide me your name, phone number, and email and I’ll give you all the slides. So a lot of people would opt in to download the slides. But when I would follow up to see if people were actually applying what they were learning, I found out sadly, they weren’t. But people would tell me it was the best speech I’ve seen, one of the best I’ve ever heard, and it felt great to hear that. You know, it felt good to hear these words. This is one group here. This is the EXP Realty. I spoke to them and this is what people had to say after my speaking event. After my speaking event, it was hosted at the Aria Hotel in Las Vegas. Here we go. I’ve seen Jack Canfield, I’ve seen Tony Robbins and I’ll tell you that Clay made a far more, a far greater impact on me than any of those other speakers. As great as they are, and as great as they were at that time. That felt great, but then you sit there and go, are you actually applying it? I mean we had great people telling me nice things. Here’s another attendee here, he says. I’ve been to a lot of these conferences, REMAX, On Down. He’s probably one of the best speakers that I’ve ever walked away with saying, those are things that I can really use in my business. And personally, how he exposed himself really touched me because I’d gone through a couple of things that he actually mentioned myself. Oh, I love Clay. Very funny. You never know, right, with a keynote speaker. You don’t know, you know, so you got to kind of open up. He’s got a good sense of humor. I liked the video at the beginning. It started out perfect. I’m like, oh great, another speaker that’s been to a million corporations. I liked it. I like it. It was really well done. The guy’s good. I really felt like I could connect with that because it was very genuine and believable and sincere. And that’s great, but that’s so different than our conferences. Jason, our conferences are all about what? It’s all about action steps, applying diligence. Applying it. Applying it. Consistency. That’s what the coaching is, baby. It’s that follow-up. It’s like when you’re talking about people say, oh, this is, and like listening and watching via the reflection in this awesome window, the people giving you the feedback, like, oh, I’ve been to Tony Robbins, it was great, or oh, you know, Clay really exposed himself, but you better stop doing that. I understand. This just in, life tip, stop exposing yourself. But no, it’s just like, any way that I can make it more relatable to people is if you’ve seen a Braveheart, you know the amazing speech William Wallace gives yep Well of homeboys are listening like oh, this is the greatest speech ever and then you don’t go out and have the battle What’s the point? I felt like at the end of every talk people were fired up and then it would just End there. Yeah, it would end there fired up Mm-hmm, but to quote David Bach the best-selling author of The Automatic Millionaire again, he said, remember inspiration unused is merely entertainment. To get new results you need to take new actions. I realized I’d become an entertainer again. Dang it! I had left the DJ business because I was tired of being an entertainer. I wanted to impact people’s lives. Jason, you want to hear audio from the last thing that I, the last, how I ended my last speech the guy he said I really cleverly exposed himself do you want to hear the last audio this is the audio of what for me at the exp reality I think this is odd I might have the wrong clip okay but I think this is audio of the final words I said before I dropped the mic let me let me cue it up here I’m ready here we go Come on, Snoop! Snoopaloop! Snoopaloop! No, it’s cool, it’s cool, I’m cool. Bring your green hat, let’s go! Come on, everybody, we’re going! Here we go! Man, man. I did not go streaking after my last- How was meeting Snoop Dogg, though? I thought that was pretty cool. I did not meet Snoop Dogg. I did not meet Snoop Dogg. But, this just in. We are now talking about what is the next step after putting a clickable phone number on your website? The next step is to have a social proof on your website. Why? Why do we have to put social proof on… What is social proof? And why do we have to put it on our website? So social proof, if people go to thethriftimeshow.com, for an example, they’ll see right underneath that gorgeous picture of you and Dr. Zellner, Our hosts have been seen on Bloomberg, Forbes, Pando Daily, Yahoo, Fast Company, Business Insider, Entrepreneur. That’s saying, hey, don’t just take our word for it. We were listed on bigger publications. It’s like how you cite everything you say. That quote you just said, you have in the show notes. You read back. You read where it came from, who said it. It’s proving to your ideal and likely buyers that you are the person that they are looking for. Years ago I got asked to be on Bloomberg to share about what we’re up to and what we’re doing. Let me queue up audio. There are different kinds of social proof. There’s three big ones I want to focus on. One is client testimonials. Two is appearances on media. And three is it’s a celebrity endorsement. So this was me on the Bloomberg publication with David Robinson. So David Robinson and myself. Let me hit play here. What is Thrive 15? Thrive 15 is a website that provides entertaining education for entrepreneurs. It’s very practical education. So, if you’ve ever wanted to start a business or grow a business, Thrive teaches you specifically what you need to do to grow a business, but your teachers are actually successful entrepreneurs who are basically millionaires and mentors and everyday success stories, people who’ve actually done it. There it is. Now, if you said, okay, well, what’s another example? Well, you could do like celebrities. I mean, I will say this though, is in our world we live in now, you can kind of pay people to say stuff. That’s true. There’s a website for it. So be careful of that. So John likes to have a lot of fun with me and he likes to… My name’s Joe Colville. Let me pause it. He likes to share, have celebrities say nice things to me. And it’s kind of a funny thing he does. Let me cue it up here real quick. Here we go, walking in the Thrive. This is a video shot by a conference attendee. Business conference, December 13th, here we go. And that helps when you have real customers sharing about their real experiences. Woo! Come on in, welcome, welcome, so much, I’m so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so. And that’s nice when you have real clients sharing. But again, the three, you’ve got, you can appear on the media with celebrity endorsements like David Robinson and I did there on the Bloomberg. Two is you can go out there and have client testimonials. Or three, you can have famous people saying fun things. Here’s his Ray Lewis saying fun things to me Clay Clark what’s going on my man? First of all, it’s your favorite NFL player Ray Lewis for money That you are a great American and a hard-working man Drive home my brother Happy New Year many blessings to you. God bless you And that’s cool because I love Ray Lewis. But that shouldn’t make you want to buy from me or not buy from me. But it makes people want to buy from me or not buy from me. It does. The social proof. So Jason, again, I’m saying, how do I do this? Can you read to us a little excerpt about social proof? Yeah. So if you don’t hate money and you are not a committed socialist, you will want to include social proof near the top of your website. What is social proof? Social proof is a phrase and a term that was originally created by the best-selling author Robert Cialdini. Is that how you pronounce his name? Cialdini, but you’re good. Cialdini, okay. In his book, Influence, the best social proof examples are, like you said, real testimonials from real current and former clients. It’s super powerful. Media features and appearances on credible media sources such as Bloomberg, Fox Business, Entrepreneur.com, Fast Company, etc. Proudly showing that you have earned the highest and most reviews in your local business niche, which is really important. Celebrity endorsements from celebrities that have earned the trust of your ideal and likely buyers. So someone should write this down. Customer testimonials, media appearances, celebrity endorsements, and reviews. Reviews are by far the best. But again, I see a lot of people that don’t actually know what they’re doing. And again, you can go on the internet and you can pay, I mean if you pay enough money, you can pay a celebrity to say almost anything. Here’s another fun video that John had made for me. This is Brett Favre. Hey Clay Clark, it’s your favorite gunslinger Brett Favre. Oh, I mean that’s fun. I like that. That’s a fun thing. I think that there’s more of that clip. Let me try again. Hey, Clay Clark. It’s your favorite gunslinger, Brett Favre. Just reminding you, you are a great American. Oh, I can’t hear it enough. Brett Favre in a truck. Telling me I’m a great American. Let me get up again. You are a great American. Just reminding you, you are a great American. Brett, I forgot what I am. Tell me again, please. Just reminding you, you are a great American. Thank you. I mean, great. Oh, feel good. Encourage me. So keep slinging those Hail Marys. God bless. Thanks. Again, you can buy celebrity endorsements. Do you think that Michael Jordan was paid to wear Michael Jordan’s shoes, his signature line? Do you think Michael Jordan was paid money, Jason, to wear Nikes? Absolutely. We all know, we all celebrate the endorsement deal, but then we’re all it’s like almost everybody is then Manipulated to want to buy the shoes. Yep. I mean high school kids are fighting over these things and gang It’s gang territories. They’re killing people for we all for the shoes We all know that they’re using these moves marketing companies. We all know we all know but we’re still somehow All going to Starbucks and asking for the Oprah Chai tea. Yeah, I remember one time you sent me on a Starbucks run and I hadn’t heard of that. Right. What? It’s a thing though. I mean, Michael Jordan, why are we wearing Hanes underwear? Michael Jordan told us to. Right. Why are we sipping on sugar water known as Gatorade? Michael Jordan told us to. That is a really cool commercial. I mean, it’s unbelievable. Why are we going to Papa John’s? Shaq’s telling us to go there. We should go there. Yeah. It’s unbelievable the power of social proof. Jason, what’s the next step we need to take to increase dramatically how much money we’re going to make this year by improving our website? The next step is to make the logo return to your home tab. Make the logo clickable and make it return to the, what? Repeat it again. So make the logo return to home. So basically your home page. The billboard aspect of your website. So clicking the logo, take the user back to the home page. Exactly. Okay, okay. And for examples of this again just go to pmhokc.com, go to shawholmes.com or just download the bestseobook.com, chapter 2, there it is. What’s next? Create original content. Why can’t it be duplicate? Because Google has compliancy rules and they are very adamant about crawling and checking to make sure that people are maintaining that compliance in order to maintain their ranking and if you just do copy paste copy paste they’re going to find out and it’s going to make your page rank super super low. This is important for somebody out there it’s very very important everybody out there you’ve got to consistently create content we tell people all the time on this show I recommend that every single person adds at least 500 words of content to their website a day. For a total of, again, that’d be like 12 1,000 word pages of content a month. Everybody does a minimum of 500 words of content a day. Why, Jason? Because it’s going to dramatically increase your ranking. I mean, if your competitors, like let’s say you are a Kola Fitness, you are in a realm where you’re playing with the big boys. Like, you know, you could still say they’re a small business. They’re competing though with Planet Fitness. Exactly. Huge companies. Planet Fitness, Gold’s Gym, you name it. And these people have entire marketing firms, multiple firms who will write all this content for them. And Kola’s winning. Exactly. And Kola’s beating the crap out of them. And people are like, well, he just plays a different game. No, he says, hey team, this is how many pages we have to write. And on top of that, he goes to you and says, hey, I need your team to add even more so we can kind of supplement. We’re both, you know, even in the playing field because you have to know who your competition is. All of all of my clients, all of my every single one of my clients that grows. Yeah, they all add at least at least 50 pages of content per month. And that’s why they’re top in Google. And that’s why they 4x, 10x, 20x. And some people like the co-laws, they have a team of full time people and they say, you know what, they give them a quota to the guy and they say, listen, I want 140 articles a month from you, dude. Dude, two, I want 20 from you. And they’ll pay us to do the extra articles when they can’t afford to do them themselves. We charge $15 an article to do that. But other clients, I mean, it’s rare, but there are some small businesses that have a team big enough where they can write content themselves. But somebody’s got to do it. And that’s the thing. Somebody has to do it. Somebody. It doesn’t have to be you, you know, in particular. If it’s only you, then you should probably write some, but just find who is going to do it and then assign it regularly. So there’s three ways to write content. One, write your own content yourself. Sit down and just type it out. Three, or two, record a podcast or an audio article. Jason, can you explain what we mean by this? Yeah, so a lot of the builders that I work with, or the contractors, they have to drive a long way to get to estimates or jobs. And so in order to do their content, they’re not in front of a computer a lot. And so they’ll grab either Dragon Dictation for mobile, or they’ll use their iPhone voice memo, if it’s Samsung VoiceNote, whatever, and they will just talk at length about a subject. So the pool company that I work with, they will talk about amoeba pools. What is an amoeba pool? Where did the name come from? Or how long does it take in order to have from design estimates to construction to completion of your pool? So you got three ways you can write the content. One, sit down and write it. Two, just record on your phone audio of you talking about the subject. Weave in the keywords. And just record for 10 minutes. That’s going to produce 1,000 words of original content. And then we just give it to your coach to upload if you’re working with us and then we’ll weave in the keywords for you. Or download my book thebestseobook.com transcribe it yourself. You say, well what transcription service should I use? I recommend temi.com. You say how much does it cost? Approximately 30 cents a minute. You might say, do you get paid to endorse them? I don’t. No. Why would you endorse them? Because it works. So again I’m trying to give all those details there. Now, we’re going to go back to the audio testimonial from Aaron Antus with Shaw Homes explaining… Hi, I’m Aaron Antus with Shaw Homes. This guy, again, Shaw Holmes, has grown four times larger. Listen to what he says now about applying the principles. Here we go. Connection with the team and with Clay on a weekly basis is honestly very enlightening. One of the things that I love about Clay’s perspective on things is that he doesn’t come from my industry. He’s not somebody who’s in the home building industry. I’ve listened to all the experts in my field. Our company has paid for me to go to seminars, international builder shows. I’m not going to correct, it’s rude to correct Jason a testimonial, but I have worked with a lot of builders and I’ve helped the builders grow by more than a combined maybe, maybe 300 million dollars of sales combined growth. Wow. Probably more than that. Probably like 400 million dollars. So I would say I’ve helped grow more home building companies than almost anybody, but it’s true I’m not a home builder. That’s true. So let’s continue. All kinds of places where I’ve had the opportunity to learn from the experts in my industry, but the thing that I found working with Clay is that he comes from such a broad spectrum of working with so many different types of businesses that he has a perspective that’s difficult for me to gain because I get so entrenched in what I do, I’m not paying attention to what other leading industry experts are doing and Clay really brings that perspective for me. It is very valuable time every week when I get that hour with him. From my perspective, the reason that any business owner who’s thinking about hooking up with Thrive needs to definitely consider it is because… Now make sure we get this. We have three different ways we can help you. We have Thrive 15, which is the online school, and for $19 a month, you can go up there and watch that. I recorded, I just want the listeners to know, I record over 2,000 videos where I teach you marketing, sales, accounting, and I’m interviewing, or I’m teaching with millionaires and super successful people like Michael Levine, the top public relations consultant in the history of America, the PR consultant for Prince and Nike and Michael Jackson and Pizza Hut. He’s teaching PR. We’ve got the founder of Rustic Cuff teaching branding. We’ve got huge people up there. That’s 19 bucks a month. That’s a powerful tool. Move number two, that would be the podcast, which you’re listening to right now. It’s a way we can help you and that doesn’t cost anything. And then another move we can do here is we have one-on-one coaching. That’s supplied by my company Make Your Life Epic, which I started around 2008, and I’ve been coaching clients one-on-one since that time. And then you’ve got the conferences, I guess. We have four ways to help you. You have the conferences. So either way, we’re here to help you. But when he says thrive, he’s referring to all four of those ways we can help you. Let me hear him play. The results that we’ve gotten in a very short period of time are honestly monumental. It has really exceeded my wildest expectation of what he might be able to do. I came in skeptical because I’m very pragmatic and as I’ve gone through the process over just a few months, I’ve realized it’s probably one of the best moves we’ve ever made. I think a lot of people probably feel like they don’t need a business or marketing consultant because they maybe are a little bit prideful and like now real quick just a thought here Jason on the path We have 13 steps. What portion of the path is devoted to just marketing out of the 13 steps Just one thirteenth. Yeah, so he’s hired us to do marketing and could we also help with accounting? Mm-hmm. We help with the we don’t accountants you stuff to have hire an accountant. We have you with your performance your pricing, sustainable scheduling, hiring and firing, all your marketing, your sales conversion, your sales scripting. So let’s hit play. To think they know everything, I know that’s how I felt coming in. We’re a big company that’s definitely one of the largest in town, and so we kind of felt like we knew what we were doing. I think for a lot of people, they let their ego get in the way of listening to somebody that might have a better or different perspective than theirs. I would just really encourage you, if you’re thinking about working with Clay, I mean, the thing is, it’s month to month. Go give it a try and see what happens. I think in the 35-year history of Shaw Homes, this is probably the best thing that’s happened to us. And I know if you give him a shot, I think you’ll feel the same way. I know for me the thing I would have missed out on if I didn’t work with Clay is I would have missed out on literally an 1800% increase in our internet leads. Come on now, somebody out there’s got to take action today. Jason, what’s the next step is to create a testimonials, case studies, or success stories portion of your website. Why? Because it’s like having the social proofs. You’re credible, you have a celebrity endorsement, you’ve got, I don’t know, some media that you’ve done, and then people are gonna look at your reviews. But if you have a real life person, like Tollbooth Willie, who, he may not be a marvelous man, but he is a real customer who is telling you how you wowed him, how he would recommend you to people. It’s just like the triple tap. The social proofs, yes, Google reviews, yes, but video testimonials is the icing on the cake. I have a company I’m working with right now that’s a landscaping company. They’re a startup for lawns, but it’s owned by a client of mine who we’ve helped to grow. So livingwaterirrigationok, livingwaterirrigationok.com. Livingwaterirrigationok.com. If you visit the website, we’ve helped him to grow from $300,000 of revenue to $1.9 million last year. That’s pretty cool. So he says, hey, I want to open up a landscaping company to go with my sprinkler company. So that company is called Living Water Lawns. And it has kind of a garden gnome theme to it. Anyway, we’re trying to help him get to the top of Google. Now it’s hard for him to get reviews because he’s a startup. So how do you think we’re getting reviews? What do you think we’re doing to get real objective reviews from real people as a startup? Mowing lawns. What I would do is I’d go out and say, hey, can I mow your lawn for free? That’s what we’re doing. And then as soon as I get done, be like, hey, you know, your word means the world to us. If you could just record a quick video testimonial and tell us how we did and maybe things that we did great or maybe things that we could get better on. We just want to know. This is what he’s doing. I’ll role play it. Here we go. Excuse me, sir. I’m a landscaping service in town and I would like to mow your lawn for a dollar. And the dollar we donate to St. Jude’s. We’re doing a fundraiser to help St. Jude’s raise money. And would you let me mow your lawn for a dollar? I mean, that sounds like a great deal. Is there a catch? No. And actually, they’re donating to the John 316 mission. That’s the move. That’s what they’re doing. Wow. And that’s how it’s working. And as of right now, I don’t know when you’re going to hear this show. You’ll probably hear this show in May. And here we are in January, recording the show. We are very far ahead. And let’s see here. They have 48 reviews now. 48 reviews. And that’s how you get reviews if you’re a startup. So don’t say you can’t get reviews, okay? Jason, what is the next step? The next step is to include a compelling 60-second video or commercial on your website. Now, you want to make sure that it’s at the top above the fold, so kind of like where your social proofs are, but slightly higher than that. You want to include a compelling 60-second video or commercial on your website? Yes, sir. Why? Well, if I were going to buy from, let’s say, Thrive 15, or I guess just Thrive in general, if I’m looking for coaching, there are a lot of websites I can go to that are going to tell me what they do, but the average person, and take no offense to this, America, but the average person doesn’t read, nor do they like to read. But if they see that play button, they’re going to click that. Like if you go to Tip Top, you pull up Ryan’s, he tells you exactly what the company does. So if you go to tiptopcanine.com, tiptopcanine.com, you’ll see an example of a video. Another example would be kolawfitness.com. I would just encourage you guys to invest the time needed to do your research. And again, if you were thinking about enrolling in our online school with Thrive 15, you can do that. I’d encourage you to read reviews first, check it out first, but then if you’re thinking about signing up for Kola Fitness, say you live in the Joplin area, the Bartlesville area, or the Topeka area, and you’re thinking about signing up for the gym and exchanging your hard-earned money for a gym membership, most people go to the website, they hit play. We’ve been, like me, my family, I brought all my managers at one time, and I’m going to bring another manager on June 27, 28. I’m going to bring another manager over there. You should come. I mean, you should, I’ve been there several times, me, my son, my wife. We’ve been there. You have to be there in order to believe it. You have one, I mean, you, you are several books, but the millionaire, whatever the big, huge book, you have to read it. It’s the one I read it from one page to the end, to several times already. It’s worth thousands of thousands, if not millions, the price. I mean, the price is unbelievable. All right, ladies and gentlemen, on today’s show, we have an opportunity to interview a wonderful longtime client. His business is called Tortillasoup.com. It is a Mexican restaurant with multiple locations, and I’m super excited to have the owner, the founder of the company, Sol Mendoza. Welcome onto the Thrived Time Show. How are you, sir? Life is beautiful. Thank you. It’s a pleasure to work with you, my friend. I gotta ask you, how did you initially hear about the business coaching that we do? Somebody told me about the great job that you’re doing, and I read the book and I decided to go to thetradeshow.com. It’s the most important thing happening for my life. Oh my. I love you. Love you all of you guys. Now, I tell my team all the time, and I think Jordan probably tells you, I absolutely love your family, love you guys. I really feel like you understand the same values and mindset to work ethic that we bring. But I want people to know this. Before we met, you had been in business since I think 2008, is that correct? That’s correct. That’s correct. When I opened Tortilla Soup, it was 2008 when the crisis was in the country. I don’t believe in crisis. I just believe in hard work. I love. Now, what let me ask you this. What motivated you to start your restaurant in 2008? Hungry. All the immigrants who come to this beautiful country, and we are lucky to be in this beautiful country, hungry. You need to bring up money for your family, your wife. So you started this company, Tortilla Soup, and over that time, we ended up working with you here the last couple of years, and my understanding is you’re having growth. Could you tell the listeners, what kind of measurable or visible success have you been having since we teamed up with you? Well, sales are keeping steady and Tortilla Soup Back Home, we have an increase of 13% growth, which is a great success in our restaurant industry. And on Brookhaven, we have 11.40% increase in profits. And I mean, everyone is happy, they’re making money. We’re making money. You’re making money. Everyone is making money. Everyone’s happy. I love happy people. Now, let’s talk about this for a second. I mean, when we talk about business consulting, you know, there’s a lot of wonderful companies, I’m sure, consulting firms that talk in theories. I’m all about action, practical steps. And so I want to talk about that for a second. We had to really work with you guys, and you’ve been fast to adapt, to make sure that every single customer that comes into your place is wowed. And wow that person. I know you were already doing that, but how has, what kind of emphasis have you put on wowing those customers? Because you guys always were doing a great job, but from what I’m hearing from your coach, Jordan, is that people are absolutely being wowed. Yes, yes sir. Any first customer who comes to the restaurant, he will get a free cheese dip or a free margarita, it’s up to them. But the thing I want everyone greeting them, making them hospitality, making them happy. I want them to greet them to feel like they are better than at home because, I mean, service, you can get an amenity machine, but hospitality, you have to provide it. You have to make them feel because emotions work. And I want them to live happy. If they are right happy, I want them to live better, better way. And the way I look at the business, I know you do too, is from left to right, very linear. And so the first step is you got to get in front of your ideal and likely buyers. The second step is you have to actually wow them. But step number one, you’ve got to get in front of them. Can you talk about the increase of number of people who are finding you online? Are you finding that since working with us that more people are finding you online? Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Just to make it sure, on one of our locations, we triple our Google reviews, video reviews. People are happy to provide us the video and Google reviews because, I mean, we provide quality, but we didn’t know we have to increase the Google and video reviews, now every server, most of them, the eight players, they are happy to provide video reviews and people are happy to provide us with that because that way, some people, they even drive three or four hours just because we are making noise on the internet, we are making noise on social networks, it is incredible, it is incredible. On one occasion I don’t improve the way you tell me, because one of the managers doesn’t believe it. And the sales are less and less. And with you guys, oh, my God, we keep growing. You’re getting more people in now. More people are finding you online. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. More people. Do you think it’s the number of new people finding you? You’re in the restaurant, you manage the teams, you manage the locations. Do you feel like is it maybe double the amount of first-time customers that are finding you online or is there some sort of number or metric you found there? More than double. That’s why we have sales increasing. More than double. I’m pretty sure we are making a lot of people, they find us online, especially because of the video reviews, the Google reviews. So we texting them also, because we have a lot of customers and we text them every Sunday to them. Sometimes we do on Mondays. And I mean, we see the numbers grow. On those days when we e-text them, oh my, you see, you see the numbers. I love the numbers. I’m a numbers guy too. So step number one, marketing, that’s happening. We’re getting in front of ideal and likely buyers. If I’m getting it right, you’re having more than double the number of first-time customers. Two, you’ve got to wow the customers in your restaurant. And again, you have two, multiple locations. Can you tell us what city and state your locations are in there, sir? Yes, sir. We have two locations in Macomb and Brookhaven, Mississippi, and we have another location in Louisiana. So, and we are about to open another one coming, I guess, July, or it’s gonna be another location in July in Summit, Mississippi. So, it’s gonna be five locations. So, step number one, again, folks, you gotta market to those customers. And that’s one of the things we’ve worked on together is to help you reach more of your ideal and likely buyers through search engine optimization, through online brand reputation enhancement, through social media advertisement, et cetera. The second is we got to implement a checklist to wow the new customer. And you said that one of the things you’re doing in your store, and again, folks, if you have a restaurant out there today, you want to optimize the site, the sound, the smell, the experience for the first time customer, the site, the sound, the smell, the experience. And you’re saying first time customers get what now when they come into TortillaSoup.com? Free cheese dip or free margarita. If they drink, we give them a free margarita. If they don’t, we give them a free cheese dip. I mean, sometimes they want something else. We provide it. Don’t care. First customer, you have to treat them like kings or queens because they’re king and queens. I mean, that’s what it’s all about, to treat them, make them feel very important, no matter what. So again, folks, I’m just making sure we’re getting this idea. The marketing, you have to develop a three-legged marketing tool. And we’ve done that with Saul and his team there through search engine optimization, through online advertising, through social media marketing. The second is the wowing, the sights, the sounds, the smells, the experience, you got to nail it down. Step three, you got to build a database. You have to build a database and then stay in their face. What am I saying? You have to build a database and stay in their face. And so we collect the name, the phone, the email of first-time customers, and then you’re able to text them and email them and to stay in touch with them. Talk about that process and how that’s impacted your restaurant. Oh yeah, my son over here, he’s the one in charge of the, he said texting, his son, and Josmar, my son, they’re helping me. Every Sunday before 11 o’clock, we send a text message to them, massive text for everyone, and you see the sales increase. And sometimes it doesn’t work. One Sunday it didn’t work, and we sell very low on that Sunday. So I love it. I love it. I love it. When the people, they may feel important. They feel important usually, because we send them only once a week, sometimes twice, but mostly once a week, and the sales increase. I mean, it’s amazing. It’s amazing. It works. Now, step number four, you got to hire people that are on fire. You’ve got to hire people that are on fire. There are certain people that want to work and certain people that don’t. And unfortunately, we have some people that do want to work and some people that don’t want to work. And so the solution is we implement a system, a hiring process. We call it the group interview, but it’s a hiring process. Can you talk about how implementing our return key hiring process has impacted your business? Yeah, before you, and even my managers, they were not believing in hiring a group. And then I saw you, how you did it, I read about your book, you tell us, Jordan told me also. And we do a group meeting every Wednesday at 9 a.m. Every Wednesday is a group meeting. Sometimes we post on social networks and Indigo also. And we do a group meeting, I mean, they have to ask me questions about what they wanted or what their goals, what the money goals and then whatever. And then from there you see which, if they come on time, in time, every time I tell them, that’s what I tell them, I start on time, no matter what. If they don’t come on time, they’re not going to be working a tortilla soup. I like to hire eight players. And since we’re doing this every week, group interview meeting, we have a lot of eight players coming and coming. And the C and B players, they’re leaving. I don’t care about the C players. Maybe the B players. I want eight players all the time. Now, the next step here, step number five, is you have to implement a daily meeting. You might call it a daily huddle, a daily meeting where you’re going to experience a financial beating. What I have found is if you do not schedule a daily meeting, you will experience a financial beating because people will start to drift, things will start to slip, especially with the restaurants we work with. I mean, you just cannot communicate with your team via email only. You can’t just have like a quarterly meeting. You can’t have an annual review. You’ve got to have that daily huddle. Talk to the listeners out there about how implementing that daily huddle strategy has proven to be effective for you. Well, we do at least one to five minutes daily huddle meeting, pre-ship meeting, I call it pre-ship meeting. I mean, they have to know what are the specials, how they should be treating the customers, and how the food should be handling to the customers. I mean, we have to treat them well. We have to remind them of their specials. We have to remind them, the customer tell us when they’re happy or what we need to improve. That way, we can improve. We are willing to take comments from people in order to get progress. We do a daily meeting, especially with the eight players, they encourage the other players. I like happy people. I like happy. That’s how we do it. Every shift. This tracking thing is super big. The tracking, I always tell people, again, we are going back to step six here. Implement tracking or you’re going to start to find that you’re financially slacking. What am I saying? Implement tracking or you’re going to start to find you’re financially slacking. You do a great job of that. The tracking sheet really is what matters. It’s like keeping score in business. Talk to the listeners out there about how implementing the tracking system has impacted your company. Well, the tracking system, the tracking sheet, you know, first thing, where are the customers coming from, if they are coming by word of mouth, if they are coming by Google ads, by ad rolls or whatever, and the other thing you track in your numbers also. So, whatever you say I can prove it is real, it is not just talking or saying something else, something is not real, we see the numbers every week and we have a yearly walk and we see if we get it or not get it to that goal. I mean, keeping all the numbers in one sheet is more amazing. I didn’t know. We did it once in a while, once in a while, now we have consistency, self-discipline, and then bad managers leave it also because they don’t want to be tracked. I mean, now there’s no excuses. We have to see the numbers in real time, every day, every week, every year, every quarter. Now final question for you here before we wrap up, and I appreciate you carving out time for us, is there’s a lot of people that have a business right now, and it is stuck. And one of my highlights of having our business conference every couple of months is I love seeing you guys. I love seeing your son. I love seeing your family. I love being in the room with other successful entrepreneurs. I like seeing all my clients come to these events and hearing about their success stories and having them share how they’re implementing it. So to me, the workshops, the highlights to me of our workshops is to meet great people like you who are actually growing as a result of implementing these systems. However, a lot of people are maybe a little bit concerned or resistant to scheduling a free 13-point assessment. Maybe they think there’s going to be some weird bait and switch or upsell. Maybe they’ve got screwed over or scammed over somewhere else. What would you say to somebody out there that’s thinking about scheduling a free 13-point assessment today or somebody who’s thinking about coming to one of our in-person, two-day interactive business workshops? Oh, they have to do it. They have to do it. We’ve been like me, my family, all my managers at one time, and I’m going to bring another manager on June 27, 28. I’m going to bring another manager over there. You should come. I mean, you should. I’ve been there several times, me, my son, my wife. We’ve been there. You have to be there in order to believe it. You have one, I mean, you, I don’t know, several books, but the millionaire, whatever, the big, huge book, you have to read it. It’s the one I read it from one page to the end to several times already. It’s worth thousands of thousands, if not millions. The price, I mean, the price is unbelievable. It’s unbelievable. You have to be- Do you actually, I try to write books that entrepreneurs would want to read. I try to make it, I know it sounds crazy, but I try to write books that have words, but a lot of graphics. Do you like those graphics that are in the books and the different supporting images? Is that helpful? Yeah, I love it. I love it. That’s why I love it. It’s not a regular book, just words and things. I like the graphics. I like the jokes. You have some jokes over there. I like the quotes. I mean, even a third-grade child can learn from that book. I mean, it’s easy. I mean, you have several examples over there. I mean, a lot of, it’s no doubt. I mean, you should read it. You should read it. I read that in my whole life, like a thousand books or maybe more, and it’s one of the most important books. And I keep recommending that book and I keep recommending your show to the people. You have to go in order to believe it. Everything, the organization is different. There was, with a lot of cost. Jesus, which is very important, I saw him behind you. I love it. That’s another part I love too. I tell you what, you’re a highlight for us. We love working with your family. Thank you for carving out time. For anybody who’s in the area, check out the businesses. Go there today, folks. Tortilla Soup. Tortilla Soup. It’s expanding. The locations we have here, we have Brookhaven and McComb, that’s in Mississippi. And do you have any other, where are the other locations there, Saul, for people out there that maybe want to come visit? You might become a tourist destination. Yes, sir. And Louisiana and New Orleans, they’re right now with different names. Yeah, but I’m going to switch probably to Tortilla Soup, all of them, because I’m going to implement the system and all of them. No excuses. Amen. You have to do it, my friend, in order to believe it. You have to do it. I believe it. Thank you very much. I love it. I love it. Thank you brother. Have a great day. Have a great day. Thank you so much. You too. See you in June. All right. See ya. Bye bye. Gentlemen, let me introduce you to the grill gun. Hi, I’m Bob Healy. I’m the inventor of the grill gun and the civi gun. Tim Tebow is coming to Tulsa, Oklahoma, June 27th and 28th. We’ve been doing business conferences here since 2005. I’ve been hosting business conferences since 2005. And a lot of people have followed Tim Tebow’s football career on the field and off the field. And off the field, the guy’s been just as successful as he has been on the field. Now, the big question is, JT, how does he do it? Well, they’re going to have to come and find out, because I don’t know. Well, I’m just saying, Tim Tebow is going to teach us how he organizes his day, how he organizes his life, how he’s proactive with his faith, his family, his finances. He’s going to walk us through his mindset that he brings into the gym, into business. It is going to be a blasty blast in Tulsa, Russia. Also, this is the first Thrive Time Show event that we’ve had, where we’re going to have a man who has built a $100 million net worth. Wow. We’ll be presenting. Now, we’ve had a couple of presenters that have had a billion dollar net worth in some real estate sort of things. But this is the first time we’ve had a guy who’s built a service business, and he’s built over $100 million net worth in the service business. It’s the yacht driving, multi-state living guru of franchising. Peter Taunton will be in the house. This is the founder of Snap Fitness, the guy behind Nine Round Boxing. He’s gonna be here in Tulsa, Russel, Oklahoma, June 27th and 28th. JT, why should everybody wanna hear what Peter Taunton has to say? Oh, cause he’s incredible. He’s just a fountain of knowledge. He is awesome. He has inspired me listening to him talk. And not only that, he also has, he practices what he teaches. So he’s a real teacher. He’s not a fake teacher like business school teachers. So you’ve got to come learn from him. And now the best-selling author of The Carnivore Diet and the multiple-time Joe Rogan guest, Dr. Sean Baker, joins our two-day interactive business growth and life optimization workshop. JT, you’re in the process of building a super successful company. Did you start out with a million dollars in the bank account? No, I did not. Nope, did not get any loans, nothing like that, did not get an inheritance from parents or anything like that. I had to work for it and I’m super grateful I came to a business conference. That’s actually how I met you, met Peter Taunton, I met all these people. So if you’re out there today and you want to come to our workshop, again, you just got to go to thrivetimeshow.com. You can learn the proven 13-point business system that Dr. Zellner and I have used over and over to start and grow successful companies. When we get into the specifics, the specific steps on what you need to do to optimize your website, we’re going to teach you how to fix your conversion rate. We’re going to teach you how to do a social media marketing campaign that works. How do you raise capital? How do you get a small business loan? We teach you everything you need to know here during a two-day, 15-hour workshop. It’s all here for you. You work every day in your business, but for two days, you can escape and work on your business and build these proven systems. So now you can have a successful company that will produce both the time freedom and the financial freedom that you deserve. You’re going to leave energized, motivated, but you’re also going to leave empowered. The reason why I built these workshops is because as an entrepreneur, I always wish that I had this. And because there wasn’t anything like this, I would go to these motivational seminars, no money down, real estate, Ponzi scheme, get motivated seminars, and they would never teach me anything. It was like you went there and you paid for the big chocolate Easter bunny, but inside of it, it was a hollow nothingness. I wanted the knowledge, and they’re like, oh, but we’ll teach you the knowledge after our next workshop. The great thing is we have nothing to upsell. At every workshop, we teach you what you need to know. There’s no one in the back of the room trying to sell you some next big get-rich-quick, walk-on-hot-coals product. It’s literally we teach you the brass tacks, the specific stuff that you need to know to learn how to start and grow a business. I encourage you to not believe what I’m saying and I want you to Google the Z66 auto auction. I want you to Google elephant in the room. Look at Robert Zellner and Associates. Look them up and say are they successful because they’re geniuses or are they successful because they have a proven system? When you do that research, you will discover that the same systems that we use in our own business can be used in your business. Come to Tulsa, book a ticket, and I guarantee you it’s going to be the best business workshop ever and we’re going to give you your money back if you don’t love it. We’ve built this facility for you and we’re excited to see it. And now you may be thinking, what does it actually cost to attend an in-person, two-day interactive Thrive Time Show business workshop? Well, good news, the tickets are $250 or whatever price that you can afford. What? Yes, they’re $250 or whatever price you can afford. I grew up without money and I know what it’s like to live without money, so if you’re out there today and you want to attend our in-person, two-day interactive business workshop, all you got to do is go to thrivetimeshow.com to request those tickets. And if you can’t afford $250, we have scholarship pricing available to make it affordable for you. I learned at the Academy, at King’s Point in New York, octa non verba. Watch what a person does, not what they say. Good morning, good morning, good morning. Harvard Keosak University Radio Show. Today I’m broadcasting from Phoenix, Arizona, not Scottsdale, Arizona. They’re closed, but they’re completely different worlds and of a special guest today Definition of intelligence is if you agree with me you’re intelligent. And so this gentleman is very intelligent I’ve done this show before also But very seldom do you find somebody who lines up on all counts as a mr. And so Mr. Clay Clark is a friend of a good friend, Eric Trump. But we’re also talking about money, bricks, and how screwed up the world can get in a few and a half hour. So Clay Clark is a very intelligent man. And there’s so many ways we could take this thing. But I thought, since you and Eric are close, Trump, what were you saying about what Trump can’t what Donald who’s my age and I can say or cannot say Well, I have to first of all, I have to honor you, sir I want to show you what I did to one of your books here There’s a name of Jeremy Thorne who was my boss at the time. I was 19 years old working at Faith Highway I had a job at Applebee’s Target and DirecTV and he said have you read this book rich dad poor dad and I said no and My father may he rest in peace He didn’t know these financial principles. So I started reading all of your books and really devouring your books. And I went from being an employee to self-employed, to the business owner, to the investor. And I owe a lot of that to you. And I just wanted to take a moment to tell you, thank you so much for allowing me to achieve success. And I’ll tell you all about Eric Trump. I just want to tell you, thank you, sir, for changing my life. Well, not only that, Clay, thank you, but you’ve become an influencer. More than anything else, you’ve evolved into an influencer where your word has more and more power. So that’s why I congratulate you on becoming. Because as you know, there’s a lot of fake influencers out there, or bad influencers. Yeah. So anyway, I’m glad you and I agree so much, and thanks for reading my books. Yeah. That’s the greatest thrill for me today. Not a thrill, but recognition is when people, young men especially, come up and say, I read your book, changed my life, I’m doing this, I’m doing this, I’m doing this. I learned at the Academy at King’s Point in New York, acta non verba. Watch what a person does, not what they say. Hey, I’m Ryan Wimpey. I’m originally from Tulsa, born and raised here. I went to a small private liberal arts college and got a degree in business and I didn’t learn anything like they’re teaching here. I didn’t learn linear workflows. I learned stuff that I’m not using and I haven’t been using for the last nine years. So what they’re teaching here is actually way better than what I got at business school and I went what was actually ranked as a very good business school. The linear workflow, the linear workflow for us in getting everything out on paper and documented is really important. We have workflows that are kind of all over the place, so having linear workflow and seeing that mapped out on multiple different boards is pretty awesome. That’s really helpful for me. The atmosphere here is awesome. I definitely just stared at the walls figuring out how to make my facility look like this place. This place rocks. It’s invigorating. The walls are super, it’s just very cool. The atmosphere is cool. The people are nice. It’s a pretty cool place to be. Very good learning atmosphere. I literally want to model it and steal everything that’s here at this facility and basically create it just on our business side. Once I saw what they were doing, I knew I had to get here at the conference. This is probably the best conference or seminar I’ve ever been to in over 30 years of business. You’re not bored. You’re awake, alive the whole time. It’s not pushy. It’ll try to sell you a bunch of things. I was looking to learn how to just get control of my life, my schedule, and just get control of business. Planning your time, breaking it all down, making time for the F6 in your life, and just really implementing it and sticking with the program. It’s really lively, they’re pretty friendly, helpful, and very welcoming. I attended a conference a couple months back and it was really the best business conference I’ve ever attended. At the workshop I learned a lot about time management, really prioritizing what’s the most important. The biggest takeaways are you want to take a step-by-step approach to your business. Whether it’s marketing, what are those three marketing tools that you want to use, to human resources. Some of the most successful people and successful businesses in this town, their owners were here today because they wanted to know more from Clay and I found that to be kind of fascinating. The most valuable thing that I’ve learned is diligence. That businesses don’t change overnight. It takes time and effort and you got to go through the ups and downs of getting it to where you want to go. He actually gives you the road map out. I was stuck, didn’t know what to do and he gave me the road map out step by step. We’ve set up systems in the business that make my life much easier, allow me some time freedom. Here you can ask any question you want, they guarantee it will be answered. This conference motivates me and also gives me a lot of knowledge and tools. It’s up to you to do it. Everybody can do these things. There’s stuff that everybody knows, but if you don’t do it, nobody else is going to do it for you. I can see the marketing working. It’s just an approach that makes sense. Probably the most notable thing is just the income increase that we’ve had. Everyone’s super fun and super motivating. I’ve been here before, but I’m back again because it motivates me. Your competition’s going to come eventually or try to pick up these tactics. So you better, if you don’t, somebody else will. I’m Rachel with Tip Top K9 and we just want to give a huge thank you to Clay and Vanessa Clark. Hey guys, I’m Ryan with Tip Top K9. Just want to say a big thank you to Thrive 15. Thank you to Make Your Life Epic. We love you guys, we appreciate you and really just appreciate how far you’ve taken us. This is our old house. This is where we used to live a few years ago. This is our old neighborhood. See? It’s nice, right? So this is my old van and our old school marketing. And this is our old team. And by team I mean it’s me and another guy. This is our new house with our new neighborhood. This is our new van with our new marketing. And this is our new team. We went from four to fourteen. And I took this beautiful dodo. We worked with several different business coaches in the past. And they were all about helping Ryan sell better and just teaching sales. Which is awesome, but Ryan is a really great salesman, so we didn’t need that. We needed somebody to help us get everything that was in his head out into systems, into manuals and scripts, and actually build a team. So now that we have systems in place, we’ve gone from one to 10 locations in only a year. In October 2016, we grossed 13 grams for the whole month. Right now it’s 2018, the month of October. It’s only the 22nd, we’ve already grossed a little over 50 grand for the whole month, and we still have time to go. We’re just thankful for you, thankful for Thrive and your mentorship, and we’re really thankful that you guys have helped us to grow a business that we run now instead of the business running us. Just thank you, thank you, thank you, times a thousand. So we really just wanna thank you, Clay, and thank you, Vanessa, for everything you’ve done, everything you’ve helped us with. We love you guys. If you decide to not attend the dry time workshop, you’re missing out on a great opportunity. The Atmosphere plays offense is very lively. You can feel the energy as soon as you walk And it really got me and my team very excited. If you decide not to come, you’re missing out on an opportunity to grow your business, bottom line. Love the environment. I love the way that Clay presents and teaches. It’s a way that not only allows me to comprehend what’s going on, but he explains it in a way to where it just makes sense. The SEO optimization, branding, marketing. I’ve learned more in the last two days than I have the entire four years of college. The most valuable thing that I’ve learned, marketing is key, marketing is everything. Making sure that you’re branded accurately and clearly. How to grow a business using Google reviews and then just how to optimize our name through our website also. Helpful with a lot of marketing, search engine optimization, helping us really rank high in Google. The biggest thing I needed to learn was how to build my foundation, how to systemize everything and optimize everything, build my SEO. How to become more organized, more efficient. How to make sure the business is really there to serve me, as opposed to me constantly being there for the business. New ways of advertising my business, as well as recruiting new employees. Group interviews, number one. Before, we felt like we were held hostage by our employees. Group interviews has completely eliminated that, because you’re able to really find the people that would really be the best fit. Hands on how to hire people, how to deal with human resources, a lot about marketing and overall just how to structure the business, how it works for me and also then how that can translate into working better for my clients. The most valuable thing I’ve learned here is time management. I like the one hour of doing your business is real critical if I’m going to grow and change. Flyever teaches you how to navigate through those things and not only find freedom, but find your purpose in your business and find the purposes for all those other people that directly affect your business as well. Everybody. Everybody. Everybody. Everyone. Everyone needs to attend the conference because you get an opportunity to see that it’s real. Hey, Flyever family. Come join us June the 27th and 28th, 2024 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. We’re gonna be there with Clay Clark, an amazing group of individuals that have made such a difference in so many people’s lives. Do you wanna increase your production in a job? Do you wanna make more sales? Do you wanna own your own business? Do you wanna have breakthroughs financially? The key to that is knowledge. Clay Clark is anointed to help people in business. We’ve watched him over the last couple of years and we’ve been blown away. He’s part owner of over 160 businesses. 2.4 billion dollars in sales. Before politics and the great reset came into Clay’s life, he had the number one rated Apple podcast and he interviewed people like Anthony Robbins, Seth Godin, the top authors, the top business minds in the world. At this specific event, there’s an interesting cast of characters that come from gangs to American Idol. Some of the guests that are going to be there, Michael Levine, Colton Dixon, Peter Taunton, John Lee Dumas, Mondo De La Viga, and Tim Sebo. They’re there to share what they’ve done and their breakthroughs and what their story is, and then Clay lays his map of business success, calls the path for every person to follow. So you may be sitting there thinking, okay, okay, I get it, I get it, what do I have to do? Go to thrivetimeshow.com. When you get there, the tickets are $250 or whatever you can afford. Follow me. I tell you what, people are so excited to be here for Day 2. It is going to be incredible. Cannot wait to see what today has in store. Right now, here at the conference, we have broken into groups going over search engine optimization. I know for most of us, myself included, if you hear that term, you go, what is that? What does that mean? That’s too technical. I’m going to go ahead and give you a little bit of a rundown of what that is. It’s a search engine optimization. It’s a search engine optimization that’s going to be used to help you find the right search engine. It’s a search engine optimization that’s going to help you find the right search engine. It’s a search engine optimization that’s going to help you find the right search engine. It’s a search engine optimization that’s going to help you find the right search engine. optimization. I know for most of us, myself included, if you hear that term, you go, what is that? What does that mean? That’s too techy for me. Well, our experts are breaking it down for people so that you can clearly understand how to come up top in Google. It’s doable. It’s possible. Now we’re in the middle of a break and what we like to do is we like to give you as much tangible and relevant information from about the start of the hour for 45 minutes. Then we take approximately a 15-minute break to allow people to connect with other entrepreneurs around them. Bathroom break and also use this time to just really digest all of the good information that you’re receiving the whole time. Right behind me we’ve got Bob with his grill gun melting an ice sculpture. It is awesome. The ice sculpture represents our life, right? It’s here for a time, but we all need to have the sense of urgency to implement the things that we’re learning so that we can make the most of the time that we have. We are outside. You can see a line behind me. What’s going on is that we partner with different companies to help them implement the proven systems over and over and over again. And one of those companies is Master Machine. And so what we like to do is partner with these companies to also help them give samples to other people as they come to the conference and truly get their name out. I just wanted to recap some of the amazing things that have happened today. We’ve had entrepreneurs like Paul Hood with Hood CPAs. We’ve had Jill Donovan and Michael Levine come up. It just imparts so much wisdom and knowledge. We’ve got an incredible giveaway for one of our TV’s. Hey there Thrive Nation. One of the things that we love most about our business conferences is that we want every entrepreneur to leave with their questions answered. So what we do is we let them put the questions up on the board here so that they can ask their specific questions and Clay will not end the conference until every question is answered. Why is Clay Clark needed answering all the different questions that entrepreneurs have brought to the conference? Whenever someone comes here and starts to hear this information, especially for the first time, it just brings about so much anticipation of wanting to actually implement the proven systems and processes. And so Clay always wants to make sure that he answers all of those questions so that they’re the most set up for success, to be able to go home and start implementing. If you have any questions, email us at info at ThriveTimeShare.com. Hello, I’m Wes Carter. I’m one of the shareholders at Winters and Keen. My favorite thing that Thrive has helped me accomplish here in our firm is thinking a little bit outside the box. They do SEO, they do printing, they help us with a lot of things from the day-to-day marketing for the firm, but they also help us think of things that as attorneys we probably wouldn’t normally think of that help us market our services to our clients. One of the things I love about working with Thrive is that they make it enjoyable to actually do work with them. It’s not dry. It’s usually fun, but it’s always very enjoyable and practical. They give me things and ideas that I can put into place. It’s not just some theoretical spiel that they give me. We get practical steps that we work on together to do my job better. So me personally, I would easily recommend Thrive 15 services to my friends, my families. I recommend them to my clients. I think they do a good job. They’re passionate. They care about their clients. And I think it’s actually a valuable service they provide to people that are in the business world. My name is Jeff Thomas. I’m originally from Atlanta, Georgia. It’s all about getting to the grindstones. It is about putting the, it’s one thing to have a specific vision or a dream, but knowledge without application isn’t knowledge at all. It’s a, that’s nothing. Really funny, the atmosphere is very lively. Everybody that is working for Clay is very upbeat and not tired, not sluggish, not complaining, not whining. They don’t have anything to do with those types of characteristics. It’s all about getting to the grind and having fun while you do it. I haven’t actually been to any conferences in the past, but what I will say from what I’ve seen on YouTube and what from other friends have told me is this isn’t like a motivational kind of thing, such as, you know, hoo-hoo, rah-rah, gets you motivated. But it’s like practical steps that if you do take them, which most people aren’t willing to do, then you will grow and you will achieve the specific things that you want. Well, for one thing, I will say that this isn’t necessarily for everyone. So if you’re not willing to work, this isn’t for you. But I will say that if you are willing to work and you know, you’re just getting started, but you have actually taken a step in that direction, then this will actually help you grow further exponentially than you could ever imagine. My name is Taylor Hall. I’m the general manager of the Tulsa Oilers professional hockey team. You know, our goal every night here at the BOK Center is to try to fill the seats with lots of people and create an exciting environment so when somebody comes to a game, they want to come back. Working with Clay and the staff at Thrive, they’ve really helped us in many, many ways. Website and graphic design and video production and a lot of things that go along. And a lot of businesses, including ours, doesn’t have a staff or a full-time videographer or graphic designer. But the biggest thing that we noticed was the needle mover. More sales, more attendance, more successes in business. We had a record year last season working with Clay for the first time. Our average attendance is higher than it’s ever been. So there’s a lot of really cool things that we did and they worked. That’s the nice thing about working with Clay and the team over there. It’s just not one person, you get the entire team. If you need video design and editing and production, they’ve got that. If you need graphic design, if you need some coaching, your sales people and call scripts, PR, they offer all that. Clay was instrumental in helping guiding us and getting us on the right track so that we could really raise the bar and become ultra successful. So it’s been an amazing experience for us. My name is Caitlin. I own a tumbling gym called Justice Tumbling Companies. It’s awesome. Working with Clay is so helpful. He’s diligent with everything and making sure we execute our goals and really make things happen. It’s fun and tight. It really gets you energized and going. It makes you really want to work. To get the momentum going, to really learn, to really get the momentum going, to really get the momentum going. It’s a lot of fun. It’s a lot of fun. It’s a lot of fun. It really gets you energized and going to make you really want to work. To get the momentum going, to really just like get that buzz, really give you the energy to get up and make it happen. I’m Bob Healy. I’m in the charcoal grilling industry and the name of my business is Grillblazer. How will I apply what I’m learning at this conference and my regular weekly attendance that it’s helping me establish the business and get it off the ground. Clay’s presentation style is just blatant disregard for what anybody wants. He just has fun, it’s him, everything that you see is authentically Clay. It’s a great deal of fun. Everybody enjoys it. They know when you walk in, they think they’re coming in to a carnival, and frankly, they are. It’s just great fun. There’s not another conference like it. You don’t go to a carnival atmosphere and learn what they do here at the Thrive Conference. It’s great. The reason people should attend at least one of these conferences is because it’s common sense. And everybody’s said on the entire line about the way you should run a business, until you actually experience running a business, which is, candidly, what you learn here, how to run a business. You don’t know what you’re doing. My name is Tyler Hastings, and this is my wife, Rachel. And our company is Delrick Research, out of New Orleans. During our time working with Thrive, we’ve had numerous successes. When we first started, we were working with one physician, we had one research site, and we were seeing on average, you know, between 10 and 15 patients a week. Since working with Thrive in the last 18 months, we now have four research sites, we work with over five physicians, and on average we’re now seeing over 60 patients per week. Recently, we’ve been the top enroller worldwide in seven studies, which is just incredible considering where we were two years ago, 18 months ago. Thrive really differs from the other conferences that we’ve been to and the other kind of programs that we’ve been through because they actually really practice what they preach. And they implement the same systems and the processes that they teach you about. And they give you real life examples that really work for them and show you with the training how to implement that yourself. For example, Tyler and I actually got the opportunity to come out to Tulsa and we’re fortunate enough that the Thrive team took us out to some of the businesses that they own and we really got to see in real life, real-time, some of the systems and processes and it was just incredible. A real-life example of some of the businesses and the things that they’re implementing. Having a coach is important to us. They act as not only an accountability factor, but they’re someone we can talk to on a daily basis as we go through the problems of running a business that inevitably come up. They always understand what we’re going through and they’re always there to help us or guide us through the problems that we experience. working with Thrive has just been seeing our relationship grow. So at each step as our business grows, you know, they have something else to provide us with. They’ve got the resources, whether it be marketing, graphic design, website development, or even in accounting practices, maybe we need a new insurance policy. If they have someone they can connect us with, or, you know, they have the direct resource we need to speak with for any of the problems we face. If someone’s thinking about signing up for the coaching program, I would highly recommend that they call in for a free 30-minute coaching session and see exactly what the team can do for you. Just speak with someone, let them know what you’re going through, and I think you’ll find that regardless of what you need, there’s someone there that can help you. Clay’s presentation style is very real and raw. Like, it just gets real down to the bone of it and the real purpose of it. There’s no, like, fluffy vagueness about it, you know? So, he really gets to the point. I’m always reminded about how important it is to be intentional and to really pay attention to how you schedule your time and really honor it. Because whatever gets scheduled gets done. That’s what he said from Lee Cockrell. Just constantly hearing that and getting reminded helps me to reinforce that in my own life. It always helps to get an outside perspective. And especially from a guy that’s run so many multi-billion dollar businesses, it doesn’t hurt. My name is Nick Guajardo. I heard about the Thrive Time Show workshop through Andy Mathren. He is my, Andy Mathren and Larry Montgomery, they’re my bosses at Restore Home Health. So I work with a home health company called Restore Home Health. And my role is pretty much to bring in business. So I was hoping to learn kind of the sales process on top of just kind of the responsibilities and help understand what it looks like on the SEO side and just kind of an all around what it looks like to own a business because that’s something I want to do in the future for sure. How I Thrive is high energy, great professionalism, great people. It’s just a place you definitely want to visit and be at. Plays delivery style, humorous, professional, hilarious. I haven’t seen someone do it better, so he does a great job. Most valuable thing I’ve learned so far? A lot of it has been extremely valuable. But one thing that’s always really stuck out to me is learning the SEO stuff. I mean, that is, I think, things you don’t really even think about and then you hear it and you think you know it, but you don’t know it. So I feel like that was the most valuable. Well, they’re missing out on just coming down to just basic applications to be a business owner. I mean, I feel like it’s like an absolute necessity to come here and learn the ins and outs and maybe come here once or twice if they take good notes, that kind of thing. Why? So just it’s the experience here and what you can learn, like absolutely. So marketing and SEO seemed like something that would be very scary, but then in the way that Clay and his team described it became very clear and concise and something that’s very accessible to any business owner. I’ve learned a lot about marketing at this conference and a lot about business management and HR, really everything the key components of anybody’s business they’re going to give you the best tools to be successful at it. So most workshops or conferences can be really boring, really one-note, or they just seem so theatrical that it’s a joke and it’s not even giving you the tools that you need or that you came there for. But here, it’s still high energy, it’s still fun, everything’s to the point, but it’s very professional and, yeah, you’re missing out on easy steps to use in your business that are very accessible and very clear. My name is Abigail McCarter. The best thing I’ve learned so far is definitely organization, schedule-wise, always keeping a to-do list, keeping your calendar organized. I’m kind of all over the place, so that’s always good to know. So Clay’s presentation style and the atmosphere is electric. It’s so energetic, it’s so fun, plays hilarious, but also knows a ton. So it’s just really great all around. This conference is much different than any other conference I’ve gone to. Again, because it’s fun. A lot of other conferences, it’s really quiet, really cold, and you just kind of get bored. But this one, you’re always engaged, you’re always learning something, and the staff is amazing. They’re always super helpful. So it’s just been really great. My name’s Clint Howell. We’re a personal training and fitness training facility. Oh, wow. I’m learning a ton. Like this morning so far, it’s been search engine optimization. So really just the importance of being at the top of Google, how Google works, and why it’s so important to go out and get video reviews and testimonials and getting Google reviews. And so all those things we can take back and really apply that immediately. So it’s really cool to see not only how to do it, but really the relevance and the importance of it in the long-term strategy of your business. It’s amazing, actually, on the way in this morning, Ed yesterday, I was videoing as I was walking in the front entrance, and actually me, I go to a lot of seminars, I go to a lot of conferences, massive ones. I’ve been doing that since I was like 22 years old, so I got to almost 20 years now. And this is by far the most entertaining. Not only the content, their content is amazing, but Clay and you guys do a great job of mixing in entertainment where it’s fun, it’s fresh, it’s lively, you never get bored. And I heard a study one time that the reason that children learn so much quicker is because it’s fun, learning is fun, and so obviously play is still that, but it’s very fun to be here and keeps you awake, keeps you energized, so have a blast. Yeah, I think any business owner or someone that wants to own a business or considering owning and starting a business should definitely come. I know that I was referred here by friends of mine and clients of mine and I’ve referred other people. Again, just to understand what it takes to make this successful, to have a good time, obviously, like I was just saying, have fun, and network. There’s a lot of people here you can learn from, and there’s a lot of breaks you can talk to other people. So I think this is a must-attend for anybody that owns a business and wants to start a business. My name is Jamie Fagel. I’m with Jameson Fine Cabinetry. I heard about the conference through Andrew. He’s the coach that I deal with here at the Thrive. The most valuable piece I found even working with Andrew, but it’s been solidified when it came here, was you got to actually do the things that they’re telling you. With no action, you’re not going to get anything from it. I would highly recommend this to almost anybody in business today. I have recommended it to some of my other business partners. It’s phenomenal. It’s really something that if you want to start a business, the old way of doing things is gone. This is what you got to do. It’s the only way it’ll work. Hey, this is Charles and Amber Kola. We’re the owners of Kola Fitness. The way we’re able to do that is, working with Clay for the last three years, he has really readjusted our thinking and taught us that our business is here to serve us. And by doing that, we’re able to live the lifestyle we want and take off on a random vacation last minute. We had totally planned on being at the conference. So wish we could be there and meet all of you. I hope you know you’re having a great time. So yes, Clay in the last three years has helped us build all the necessary systems, checklists, workflows, task lists, time blocks, audits that are always running and the right capable lieutenants to keep track of all that so that you too can get time freedom, financial freedom, and that’s what we have done and Clay has helped us do. We’ve got multiple companies in multiple states and they’re all doing very well, getting ready to go to two more locations in this next year. Co-op Fitness has a really big future. We’re teaming up with a couple other groups and we should scale the company here shortly. Hopefully we’ll open like 50 locations in the next 10 years. Yeah, we’re on the way. We’re going to probably more than double our company, maybe triple our company in the next 8 to 9 months. And it’s just awesome. God is working in our business and we’re making Jesus and changing lives. We’re a strong Christian company that focuses on making Jesus famous and changing lives in the fitness field. And this is Charles and Hammer Cola. Thank you Thrive. Hit your action items. We love you guys. We wish you were there. You guys have a wonderful day. Bye bye. My name is Jennifer Johnson. I’m in the pest control industry and also weed control fertilization and my business is Platinum Pest and Lawn. Some of the things that I’ll be able to apply a lot of the things that I’ve learned in our business because this is not my first conference and so a lot of the things that we learned we put into place and now we’re doing the next level of refining the processes for just a different concept and so it’s getting better and better things that were just big processes before, we have the foundation laid, and now we’re able to make it better and better. And I’m hearing different things now that we’ve implemented things, and so we can just make it even better, implementing it in our own business. Clay’s presentation and the atmosphere is very exciting and fun. It keeps you awake. It makes it interesting. You have a lot of information, but if it’s not going to be entertaining, your brain is going to tune it out. But Play makes it just entertaining enough that you retain what you learn. Lots of rhyming and catchy things so that you remember stuff. What makes you different? Something that makes this conference different than other workshops or conferences that I’ve been to is that there’s a lot of people here in my safe situation. We’re all, most of us are pretty small businesses wanting to improve and we want real life information and something that will work and that’s attainable and not just some crazy magic formula but actual action items that we can implement in our business and actually see a difference. Everyone should attend a drive type business conference whether you’re a business owner or not. A, if you’re a business owner, it has practical applications that you can apply to so many different parts of your business. And then you need to come back for more so that you can keep doing more of the wonderful things that you learn. But secondly, I am also a mom of three kids, and a lot of the concepts can actually be applied to home, like getting routines and getting, setting systems at home has just seriously made a huge difference in my life at home. So I’ve been able to improve our business, but I’ve also been able to improve things at home. And so that’s why everyone should come, no matter what your station is in life. My name is Nolan Kuh. I’m originally from San Francisco, California. The industry that I’m in is financial services. I’ve learned a ton so far, but what I could best apply from this conference is the opportunity, that hunger to go out there and make a big difference in my district. Blaise’s presentation style is amazing. He’s got an endless amount of energy. It’s contagious. And yeah, by being here, I really do want to go back and be able to face all the adversity that dentistry has. Yeah, this conference, the thing that makes it different is that it’s special because it has a unique set of individuals that all share that same energy. I think he takes it as a dragon energy, but yeah, that’s what we do. Everyone should come to the multiple, but their first would be very special. Yeah, you’re welcome with a lot of enthusiasm. That’ll last for a long time. My name is Gabriela Cruz. Our business is Queen Indian Electric. My husband is the owner, but I’m involved with that, so we’re an electric company. Well, here at the conference they talk a lot about consistency, and so just staying consistent with different things in the business. I feel like applying that to our business model will really help us grow. The atmosphere is very positive, uplifting, and then it’s very fun and energetic. And so it gets you pumped and it gets you excited and it encourages you to do big things. I probably how real they are. They tell you upfront what you need to do and what’s like a no-go. And some conferences are, they kind of sugarcoat things. So I like how real they are here. I think it’ll definitely, if you want your business to grow, I think this would be a great experience. And then not only that, it’ll encourage you and inform you on so many things you don’t think about on a daily basis. Hey I’m Ryan Wimpey I’m originally from Tulsa born and raised here. I’ve definitely learned a lot about life design and making sure the business serves you. The linear workflow, the linear workflow for us and getting everything out on paper and documented is really important. We have workflows that are kind of all over the place. Having linear workflow and seeing that mapped out on multiple different boards is pretty awesome. Play is hilarious. I literally laughed so hard that I started having tears yesterday. And we’ve been learning a lot, which, you know, we’ve been sitting here, we’ve been learning a lot, and so the humor definitely helps, it breaks it up. But the content is awesome, off the charts, and it’s very interactive, you can raise your hand, it’s not like you’re just listening to the professor speak, you know? The wizard teaches, but the wizard interacts and he takes questions, so that’s awesome. If you’re not attending the conference, you’re missing about three quarters to half of your life. You’re definitely…it’s probably worth a couple thousand dollars. So, you’re missing the thought process of someone that’s already started like nine profitable businesses. So, not only is it a lot of good information, but just getting in the thought process of Clay Clark or Dr. Zellner or any of the other coaches, getting in their thought process of how they’re starting all these businesses, to me, just that is priceless. That’s money. Well, we’re definitely not getting upsold here. My wife and I have attended conferences where they, it was great information and then they upsold us like half the conference and I don’t want to like bang my head into a wall. And she’s like banging her head into the chair in front of her. Like, it’s good information but we’re like, oh my gosh, I want to strangle you. Shut up and go with the presentation that we paid for. And that’s not here. There’s no upsells or anything. So that’s awesome. I hate that. It makes me angry. So glad that’s not happening So the cost of this conference is quite a bit cheaper than business college I went to a small private liberal arts college and got a degree in business and I didn’t learn anything Like they’re teaching here. I didn’t learn linear workflows I learned stuff that I’m not using and I haven’t been using for the last nine years So what they’re teaching here is actually way better than what I got at business school. And I went what was actually ranked as a very good business school. I would definitely recommend that people would check out the Thrive 15 conference. It’s…the information that you’re going to get is just very, very beneficial. And the mindset that you’re going to get, that you’re going to leave with, is just absolutely worth the price of a little bit of money and a few days worth your time. This is our old house, right? This is where we used to live. Here’s the house. This is our old neighborhood. See? It looks nice, right? So this is my old van and our old school marketing. And this is our old team. And by team I mean it’s me and another guy. This is our new house with our new neighborhood. This is our new van with our new marketing. And this is our new team. We went from four to fourteen and I took this beautiful photo. We worked with several different business coaches in the past and they were all about helping Ryan sell better and just teaching sales, which is awesome, but Ryan is a really great salesman, so we didn’t need that. We needed somebody to help us get everything that was in his head out into systems, into manuals and scripts and actually build a team. So now that we have systems in place, we’ve gone from one to 10 locations in only a year. In October 2016, we grossed 13 grand for the whole month. Right now it’s 2018, the month of October. It’s only the 22nd, we’ve already grossed a little over 50 grand for the whole month and we still have time to go. We’re just thankful for you, thankful for Thrive and your mentorship, and we’re really thankful that you guys have helped us to grow a business that we run now instead of the business running us. Just thank you, thank you, thank you, times a thousand. So we really just want to thank you, Clay, and thank you, Vanessa, for everything you’ve done, everything you’ve helped us with. We love you guys. Hello, my name is Charles Colaw with Colaw Fitness. Today I want to tell you a little bit about Clay Clark and how I know Clay Clark. Clay Clark has been my business coach since 2017. He’s helped us grow from two locations to now six locations. We’re planning to do seven locations in seven years and then franchise. Clay’s done a great job of helping us navigate anything that has to do with running the business, building the systems, the checklists, the workflows, the audits, how to navigate lease agreements, how to buy property, how to work with brokers and builders. This guy is just amazing. This kind of guy has worked in every single industry. He’s written books with like Lee Crocker, head of Disney with the 40,000 cast members. He’s friends with like Mike Lindell. He does Reawaken America tours where he does these tours all across the country where 10,000 or more people show up to some of these tours on the day-to-day. He does anywhere from about 160 companies. He’s at the top. He has a team of business coaches, videographers, graphic designers, and web developers. They run a hundred and sixty companies every single week. So think of this guy with a team of business coaches running a hundred and sixty companies. So in the weekly he’s running a hundred and sixty companies. Every six to eight weeks he’s doing Reawaken America tours. Every six to eight weeks he’s also doing business conferences where 200 people show up and he teaches people a 13 step proven system that he’s done and worked with billionaires, helping them grow their companies. I’ve seen guys from start-ups go from start-up to being multi-millionaires, teaching people how to get time freedom and financial freedom through the system. Critical thinking, document creation, making it, putting it into, organizing everything in their head to building it into a franchisable, scalable business. One of his businesses has like 500 franchises. That’s just one of the companies or brands that he works with. So, amazing guy. Elon Musk, kind of like smart guy. He kind of comes off sometimes as socially awkward, but he’s so brilliant and he’s taught me so much. When I say that, Clay is like, he doesn’t care what people think when you’re talking to him. He cares about where you’re going in your life and where he can get you to go. And that’s what I like him most about him. He’s like a good coach. A coach isn’t just making you feel good all the time. A coach is actually helping you get to the best you. And Clay has been an amazing business coach. Through the course of that we became friends. My most impressed with him is when I was shadowing him one time. We went into a business deal and listened to it. I got to shadow and listen to it. When we walked out I knew that he could make millions on the deal and they were super excited about working with him. And he told me, he’s like, I’m not going to touch it, I’m going to turn it down, because he knew it was going to harm the common good of people in the long run. And the guy’s integrity just really wowed me, brought tears to my eyes to see that this guy, his highest desire was to do what’s right. And anyways, just an amazing man. So anyways, impacted me a lot. He’s helped navigate anytime I’ve gotten nervous or worried about how to run the company or navigating competition and an economy that’s, like I remember, we got closed down for three months. He helped us navigate on how to stay open, how to get back open, how to just survive through all the COVID shutdowns, lockdowns, because our clubs were all closed for three months and you have $350,000 of bills you’ve got to pay and we have no accounts receivable. He helped us navigate that and of course we were conservative enough that we could afford to take that on for a period of time. But he was a great man. I’m very impressed with him. So Clay, thank you for everything you’re doing and I encourage you if you haven’t ever worked with Clay, work with Clay. He’s going to help magnify you and there’s nobody I have ever met that has the ability to work as hard as he does. He probably sleeps for maybe six hours a day and literally the rest of time he’s working and he can outwork everybody in the room every single day and and he loves it. So anyways this is Charles Kola with Kola Fitness. Thank You Clay and anybody out there that’s wanting to work with Clay. It’s a great great opportunity to ever work with him. So you guys have a blessed one. This is Charles Kola. We’ll see you guys. Bye-bye. Hi, I’m Aaron Antis with Shaw Homes. I first heard about Clay through a mortgage lender here in town who had told me what a great job he had been doing for them. And I actually noticed he was driving a Lamborghini all of a sudden, so I was willing to listen. In my career, I’ve sold a little over 800 million dollars in real estate. So honestly I thought I kind of knew everything about marketing and homes and then I met Clay and my perception of what I knew and what I could do definitely changed. After doing 800 million in sales over a 15-year career, I really thought I knew what I was doing. I’ve been managing a large team of salespeople for the last 10 years here with Shaw Homes. And, I mean, we’ve been a company that’s been in business for 35 years. We’ve become one of the largest builders in the Tulsa area, and that was without Clay. So when I came to know Clay, I really thought, man, there’s not much more I need to know, but I’m willing to listen. The interesting thing is our internet leads from our website has actually, in a four month period of time, has gone from somewhere around 10 to 15 leads in a month to 180 internet leads in a month, just from the few things that he’s shown us how to implement that I honestly probably never would have come up with on my own. So, I got a lot of good things to say about the system that Clay put in place with us and it’s just been an incredible experience. I am very glad that we met and had the opportunity to work with Clay. So the interaction with the team and with Clay on a weekly basis is honestly very enlightening. One of the things that I love about Clay’s perspective on things is that he doesn’t come from my industry. He’s not somebody who’s in the home building industry. I’ve listened to all the experts in my field. Our company has paid for me to go to seminars, international builder shows, all kinds of places where I’ve had the opportunity to learn from the experts in my industry. But the thing that I found working with Clay is that he comes from such a broad spectrum of working with so many different types of businesses that he has a perspective that’s difficult for me to gain because I get so entrenched in what I do, I’m not paying attention to what other leading industry experts are doing. And Clay really brings that perspective for me. It is very valuable time every week when I get that hour with him. From my perspective, the reason that any business owner who’s thinking about hooking up with Thrive needs to definitely consider it is because the results that we’ve gotten in a very short period of time are honestly monumental. It has really exceeded my wildest expectation of what he might be able to do. I came in skeptical because I’m very pragmatic and as I’ve gone through the process over just a few months, I’ve realized it’s probably one of the best moves we’ve ever made. I think a lot of people probably feel like they don’t need a business or marketing consultant because they maybe are a little bit prideful and like to think they know everything. I know that’s how I felt coming in. I mean, we’re a big company that’s definitely one of the largest in town. And so we kind of felt like we knew what we were doing. And I think for a lot of people, they let their ego get in the way of listening to somebody that might have a better or different perspective than theirs. I would just really encourage you, if you’re thinking about working with clay, I mean, the thing is, it’s month to month. Go give it a try and see what happens. I think in the 35 year history of Shaw Homes, this is probably the best thing that’s happened to us and I know if you give them a shot, I think you’ll feel the same way. I know for me, the thing I would have missed out on literally an 1800% increase in our internet leads. Going from 10 a month to 180 a month, that would have been a huge financial decision to just decide not to give it a shot. I would absolutely recommend Clay Clark to anybody who’s thinking about working with somebody in marketing, I would skip over anybody else you were thinking about and I would go straight to Clay and his team. I guarantee you’re not gonna regret it because we sure haven’t. My name is Danielle Sprick and I am the founder of D. Sprick Realty Group here in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He’s a home builder, so real estate and home building go hand in hand and we just rolled with it. I love people, I love working with people, I love the building relationships, but one thing that was really difficult for me was the business side of things. The processes and the advertising and marketing, I knew that I did not have what I needed to make that what it should be. So I reached out to Clay at that time, and he and his team have been extremely instrumental in helping us build our brand, help market our business, our agents, the homes that we represent. Everything that we do is a direct line from Clay and his team and all that they’ve done for us. We launched our brokerage, our real estate brokerage, eight months ago. And in that time, we’ve gone from myself and one other agent to just this week, we signed on our 16th agent. We have been blessed with the fact that we right now have just over 10 million in pending transactions. actions. Three years ago, I never would have even imagined that I would be in this role that I’m in today, building a business, having 16 agents, but I have to give credit where credit’s due. And Clay and his team and the business coaching that they’ve offered us has been huge. It’s been instrumental Don’t ever limit your vision. When you dream big, big things happen. I started the business because I couldn’t work for anyone else. I do things my way. I do what I think is in the best interest of the patient. I don’t answer insurance companies. I don’t answer to large corporate organizations. I answer to my patient, and that’s it. With everything that I encountered, everything that I experienced, I quickly learned it is worth every penny to have someone in your team that can walk you through and even avoid some of the pitfalls that are almost invariable in starting your own even avoid some of the pitfalls that are almost invariable in starting your own business.
